The Empirical Emperor of Troporia has declared war on the Evil Horde of Hordes. There are many hordes like the Evil Horde of Hordes, but the Evil Horde is the most dangerous. And the most evil. There are many villains finding refuge in the Evil Horde, and the Empirical Emperor has called upon the five greatest heroes in Troporia to help save the realm. They are:

Angstus the Avenger: His parents were killed by the Evil Hordemaster himself when he was but a boy. Ever since, he has been training for this very moment to take vengeance upon the Evil Horde. He is plagued with an edgy history of rejection and overcoming his self doubt.

Xander the Chosen: Just a normal teenager, Xander discovered he had amazing powers when the war broke out. HE DIDN'T CHOOSE TO HAVE THESE POWERS. But he has to overcome his biting sarcasm and teenage apathy in order to realize his true potential.

Ancientius the Mentor: Ancientus had trained young heroes at an academy for near a hundred years and fought in countless battles and wars. He is going to display his powers for one final heroic conquest of the Evil Horde in order to inspire the other heroes to greatness. And then he will retire and live a life of peace that he has never known and probably wouldn't have wanted anyway.

Girla the Man: Girla is a strong and masculine man. He is very recluse and allows himself no friends. Girla definitely has no secret life and is very open.

Arielle of Mari'su: Arielle is a beautiful and perfect woman. Everybody just seems to like her and she never does anything wrong. Her hair is pink and her eyes are rainbow. Also she has wings. But she's very clumsy and totes socially awkward, but in a cute, non-socially-awkward way.

As a normal citizen of Troporia, you're probably uneducated and living a worthless life as a peasant. Most of all, you're unimportant. Also you've been conscripted to fight in the Wonderful War against the Evil Horde of Hordes. The Empirical Emperor needs every man, woman and child in the realm fighting to serve as expendable meat puppets to advance the goals of the Mighty Five Heroes. As a conscripted soldier, you are going to be fighting in every battle and experiencing every gritty detail of this war as the Mighty Five defeat the figureheads of the Evil Horde of Hordes and get all the credit for it.

This is going to be a satirical roleplay, obviously, playing on tropes and cliches that exist within roleplaying and fantasy in general. I hope we can all have fun playing this roleplay, but normal roleplay guidelines still exist. Make a good character, even if they're not that serious. Have their character develop. Have them learn lessons and grow as people as the war progresses. That said, here's the character sheet.

Name:
Age (People 9-100 were conscripted, although I ask we don't have more than one kid. Just wouldn't work that well):
Gender:
Appearance:
Personality:
Backstory:

Bonus points if you take an obvious trope/cliched character and flip it on its head, making them an actually interesting and unexpected person.
I think I could make an OOC tomorrow night.
I'm also interested, and keep me updated for that political intrigue one in the future.
Nice. One or two more people and I'll start the OOC. One of my inspirations for this essay is an old roleplay I played on a different site. There was a serious plot but all of our characters were "eccentric" and we just turned the roleplay into a joke, and the DM went along with it. It was really fun, and there was really amazing character development.
And I hope it will be fun! My idea is that we can get together and make fun of every fantasy and roleplaying trope in existence.
(Working title)

The Empirical Emperor has engaged in a war with the Evil Horde of Hordes because reasons. He has called upon the five greatest heroes in the realm to help him save the Empire and defeat the forces of evil once and for all.

You are not one of those heroes.

You are a grunt, conscripted into the army due to the Great Horde War. The Empirical Emperor needs every man, woman and child fighting his battles for him when the heroes are off defeating the symbolic figureheads of the Horde of Hordes. In this roleplay, you'll explore the role of an underrepresented grunt in an army, doing all of the real work when the heroes get all the credit.

This will be a satirical roleplay with an obvious bit of humor, but I intend for the character development, the battles and the plot to be real.

Who will join the fight against the Evil Horde of Hordes (The official name of the enemy kingdom)?!
APIRCA doesn't necessarily need to sell to the Oculi when they're low. They can just set up a trade relationship for whenever they need supplies.
Del raised a finger to the newly approached man, signalling that she wanted him to wait for her to be ready. She looked to the Senator with raised eyebrows. "He raises some valid points," she said.

"When has Congress ever led the American people astray?" Caldwell responded.

"And you can never be more sure that citizens' rights are guaranteed than a shady government goon telling you they are while he's forcing you out of his country. At least, in my experience." Del sized the man up. "He certainly does play the goon nicely."

"If we're rejected here, I'll have to set up a base somewhere near this fine city to see if Mr. Goon here is true to his word. Oh my, and what we'll be forced to do if we see any discrepancies with the Official Story." Woodrow shook his head sadly.

"But think of the weekend trips to Georgia you can take," Del pointed out. "I've always wanted to try their peaches. I hear they're the best in the world. Coincidentally, I happen to know the name of a fine pair of brothers in Georgia that make bombs. Terribly inbred, unfortunately, but they still get the job done with remarkable efficiency."

"Coincidentally, I may have to get their names from you, my friend." Woodrow nodded. "I mean, sadly I have no meeting to get to with anyone in this city, and I've toured the Mall twice as much as a government official on a campaign should."
I see APIRCA and the Oculi as natural allies. You can pick a continent to approach them on, as they have a representative on each one (one of whom being their secret leader). Picky any one as I already have the characters planned out. I actually really hope we get to a point where other countries are trying to guess who's the leader.
