Alin laughed, something that didn't happen a lot. Serena could always make Alin laugh, and her happy outlook on the entire thing made him feel happy, too. Due to the loud noises in the hall and that he was focused on talking, Alin didn't notice the pumpkin juice fiasco over at the Gryffindor table, even though everyone else probably did. He wasn't too good on focusing on multiple things at once. "I wonder how long it'll be until everyone's sent back to the common rooms..." He thought out loud, looking towards the front of the room.
Alin took the pumpkin juice from Serena and took a sip, realizing that he was very thirsty. Hesitating for a moment, he said, "I-It's been okay." He looked down, and it looked like he was trying to say something. Finally, after a moment, he managed to say in a low voice, "...I don't have to go back...there for awhile." As Serena probably knew, he lived in a muggle orphanage where they treated him like trash, abusing him and neglecting him. Due to policies, he still had to go back every summer. He was happy to be back at Hogwarts where he could get away from that life, and be with his best friend. He looked troubled, though he smiled softly.
Alin went rigid a bit as she hugged him, as he always did, but he smiled a bit. When she asked, he held up the spine of the book for her to see. "It's Lord of the Rings..." He said, not offering much more of exclamation. He wasn't too good at describing things, and he got a little embarrassed, his cheeks reddening. He didn't understand why she would want to be friends with him of all people, but nevertheless he was happy that he had a friend. Alin slid the book back into his bag, as not to be rude. "So has your first day back been okay so far?" He asked Serena softly, looking back up. His gaze was unsteady, as if something was bothering him.
This roleplay is going great so far, it's awesome! :3
Alin didn't notice Serena beside him for a moment, too caught up in reading and his thoughts, but after a moment he glanced up and noticed her. He smiled softly, even though he wasn't much of a social person, he was glad that Serena had noticed him. She was his best friend, his only friend actually, and was one of the only people he felt comfortable around. "Sorry I didn't say anything to you earlier, I didn't know if you would of wanted to talk to me or anything...Sorry." Apologizing, he did that a lot, even though usually he hadn't done anything wrong. He looked down, avoiding her eyes, feeling bad for not talking to her earlier and thinking that he did something wrong.
Alin hunched down more, hoping that no one would drag him into the events going on. It wasn't that he had a problem with it, he didn't mind people having fun, but he couldn't handle social activity like this. Putting his head down, he tried to avoid eye contact with the people around him. It's not like anyone would want him to participate anyways, he'd just annoy them. And at the moment, he just felt like curling up in a corner and being alone, the summer hadn't gone too well for him.
Changed my character's personality a bit, just added a few things that I forgot.
Alin sat down silently at the end of the Hufflepuff table, away from everyone else. He wasn't a very social person, and he didn't think that anyone would want to sit near him. He served himself a small meal, and set it in front of him, not really paying much attention to it. Opening his bag he pulled out a fantasy novel which seemed to be muggle written, popping it open and beginning to read. Alin was always away in a whole different world, either reading or imagining whole universes in his head. He'd smile softly, reading a funny line in his book.
Sabin's never seen a mutant before ;-;

"This punchline sucks. Your jokes suck. YOU suck. But hey, we're three for three with the not being fooled by childishly toying with deadly weapons, come on down and join the club. Next you can shoot yourself with an empty rifle and then I can 'pretend' to beat you to death with a baseball bat, we'll make a grand ol' time of it." Poe unslung the aforementioned from his travel pack and lay it across the table, his rictus grin slowly spreading again as he leered eerily at Sabin with his obscured eyes.

Ignoring the insults, the soldier would smile, not exactly understanding the seemingly veiled threat. "Sounds like a jolly good time right there, why not?" He'd lower the hand holding the zipper from the air, studying it. "Well, now I just need to find out how to stick this sucker back on..." Turning to the backpack still held to his body, he'd try and hook the zipper back onto the base, but with no luck. The thin metal had been bent, pulled apart by the force. "Crap." He'd mutter, slipping the zipper into his pocket. Oh well. Turning, he'd hear the elevator clang open, eyeing a large, blueish creature of some kind standing in the carriage. The NCR soldier had never seen a nightkin before, not even a super mutant, yet he'd been told stories of them. All of them included bloody massacre, which obviously didn't provide him with a very good image of mutants.

"What the living hell, is that a super mutant? How the hell did it get in here?!" He'd pull his pistol out of the holster on his leg, holding it up. His hands were shaking, not knowing if the strange creature was going to rip his head off or what. As the nightkin approached him, nudging him aside to get to the grenade, he'd overdue his balance and fall onto his bottom. "Agh, it's gonna eat me!" He'd scream, holding up the pistol. Clack. Oops, he'd forgotten to turn off the safety...again. This would probably leave ample time for one to pull the 10mm pistol from his shaking hands, and even if no one did he'd probably end up dropping it in the next few seconds anyways.

Concerning the other people that had entered the room through the elevator, he would be too engulfed in his fear to pay them much attention.
