Whispers of the Truth is a soldier-based roleplay set in a world 600 years after a cataclysmic event. It takes place in the land of Myzai, a world plagued by war and destruction. There our two current groups that are fighting for power at the moment, the Myzai Empire and the Crimson Gales, rebels to the tyrannous society. The Myzai Empire is plagued by problems such as slavery and starvation, only the nobles and royalty being safe from those things. The Empire is ruled by King Augustus of Rinn, the dictator who, through force, took control of the land and imposed his tyranny on all of the inhabitants. The Crimson Gales are the only group left fighting, and have just found research that could lead them to the retrieval of an Old World artifact, one overflowing with magickal power. The Myzai Empire knows too, and soon a conflict will amount over the mysterious artifact, the victor coming off with the power of the Old.

Basically, our characters will all be recruits to a new regiment of The Crimson Gales, and they'll go through basic training, preparations, and all out war. I'd like to play out the emotions that humans would go through when exposed to the true realities of war, and their reactions to it. It's going to be a pretty dark roleplay, but I think it'll be a lot of fun.

Great app, accepted! I'll add your character to the character list as soon as I'm home.

And no I don't mind, It's great actually! Since the world is still not fully developed, any add ons or suggestions are accepted and appreciated. :3
An expression of utter confusion spread across the young NCR soldier's face as the woman in front of him began to laugh, he genuinely couldn't understand what was causing it. "Err, you doin' alrigh' there ma'am?" He'd ask above her laughter fit. Was she laughing at him? No, it couldn't be, he hadn't done anything absolutely stupid in the last few seconds, had he? Maybe she was laughing at the mutant, though what kind of barking madman, or madwoman, would you have to be to laugh at a damned giant mutant? He continued to stare at her with a puzzled expression on his face until she finally stopped laughing.

As the fit slowed to a stop, she said "No need to call me ma'am.. Makes me feel older then I really am.” The puzzled expression on his face didn't change from before. He'd been taught that it was always polite to call a woman, regardless of rank, ma'am, and a man sir. He was a soldier after all, and he served the civilians of the land that couldn't defend themselves. Was she laughing at his formalities? He thought for a moment, thinking of other titles that he could call her by. Would madame work, or maybe just miss? He settled on the latter, maybe she wouldn't laugh at that.

As the woman took a small step closer, Sabin shifted uneasily, though he stayed in position. "All in a day's work. And of course Ma'a-... I mean miss, I won't let tha' blood suckin' Mr. House touch none of ya, I swear on my soldierhood." Sabin would say, saluting once again.

They say that long ago it was the mystical forces of magick that had led the world to ruin, the subjugating power tearing the old world to shreds as the sovereigns of the land pit their armies against each other to control the raw might of a single being. That being was a scared child, imbued with power foreign to her and forced to watch the bloodbath of conflict all centered around her. In the tales it is told that an unwitting boy happened upon her, teaching her how to trust, care, and love. In the end, that boy would sacrifice himself to save her, expelling the magick inside her and in turn destroying the old world, purging the cruel world of all but few. The girl was alone, left to wander the broken world until fate came for her, too.

Most assume this is only a myth, a child's tale told to warn the consequences of power, but there is no denying that something powerful came along and razed the old world. Whether it really was magick, or some cataclystic weapon, there is only one thing that really triggered the downfall of the old world. Mankind.

"The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war."
-Douglas MacArthur

Whispers of the Truth is a post apocalyptic roleplay set 600 years after a cataclysmic event wiped out all but a fraction of the human race. It's a rather dark roleplay centered around the new world of Myzai. A bloody war is occuring between the tyrannous empire of ruling over the land and the Crimson Gales, rebels who fight to overthrow the dictatorship of the land. Meanwhile, rumors of mystical artifacts from the old world have began to surface, prompting both sides to start investigations. The Crimson Gales believe that they have found the location of this so called artifact, and spies have already relayed the information to the king. It won't be long until a bloody conflict unfolds over the powers of the old world.

Specifically, the roleplay will be based around a new regiment of recruits for The Crimson Gales. It will detail their journey, starting from basic training to all out war as the supposed power that razed the old world is slowly uncovered. The recruits will go from children ignorant of the horrors or war, to battle-torn survivors of conflict based upon power.

Are the Crimson Gales really the righteous freedom fighters that they're made out to be or are they just pawns in a struggle for the ultimate power? Will mankind bring about the same end that occured to the residents of the old world?

"In wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies."
-Winston Churchill

Cool! I did a lot of thinking and I'm just about done with the thread, I'll post it as soon as I'm finished and I'll put in a link!
As the class began, Alin listened to what the professor had to say but that strange happiness was still distracting him, refusing to go away. He smiled when Serena earned Hufflepuff five points. He'd only ever earned points on a few small occasions, as he had trouble answering questions because he thought he'd just get it wrong and embarrass himself. It was nice to see his best friend earn a few points, though.

Alin was happy for the invite, he loved to see Serena play quidditch. He always thought about how amazing it must feel to fly high above the world and forget everything else with only the sky around you. He yearned to fly too, though he hadn't the money for a broom, and the few times that he had been able to fly he'd just made a fool of himself. He was overjoyed at the idea of watching Serena fly though, and he smiled. "Of course, I'd love to come along! I mean, only if you want me to." He giggled a tiny bit at her joke about the book, but he decided against bringing one to the practice because he knew it'd be rude. Alin couldn't wait until classes were over and he could hangout more with his best friend.
Sabin smile broadened as the woman seemingly believed his story, glad that another person wouldn't think he was a barking child. When she introduced herself, Sabin responded politely, "Nice to meet you, ma'am!" He swelled up even higher with pride as the woman admired the NCR as heroes, saying that she was glad to have one along. "Just doing my job, ma'am." Sabin said, saluting once again. The compliments made Sabin almost forget about the accident, too caught up in his pride to feel embarrassed over his mistake.

Of course, his superstitious implications that House was some kind of blood sucker was obviously foolish nonsense, though naive Sabin seemed to truly believe them. He looked as if he were just about to burst with pride as the woman asked him if he was going to protect them from blood sucking Mr. House. "Of course ma'am, I'll do everything in my powers t' make sure that no citizens will be harmed from no blood suckin' beast. He won't touch ya." He swallowed the fake fear without question. He would keep everyone safe, it was the last thing he did.

When the mutant approached him once again and thrust its face only inches from his, he breathed in the probably acrid scent of the mutant's breath. He squeaked in terror again, but he couldn't freak out again, his reputation was on the line. Instead he stood strong, staring fearfully into the mutant's eyes but not faltering. Sabin was just about to crack when the creature finally grabbed the teddy bear from his arms. He hadn't even realized he was still carrying the thing, he must of picked it up on accident and forgot about it. Sabin, of course, didn't catch a word that the mutant had said, too engulfed in his own fear. As the mutant finally backed off, he took a breath, realizing that he had been holding his breath. Phew, that sure was a close one, he'd been seconds away from getting his head bit off; again! He'd have to be much more careful around the mutant, he obviously would turn on them sooner or later.
On the second IC post AtomicItalian has a list of the characters+links to their app I believe.
