The Light In The Darkness

Carden followed along, not saying a word. He couldn't get a word out, fear was overflowing his body and he could barely muster the strength to take another step. As they came closer to the group, confusion rippled through him. They didn't look like they were apart of the cultists, though some kind of illusion wasn't unthinkable. They didn't appear to be illustrious hunters of the dark either, there were even children with them it looked like. As Feress approached the two of them, Carden looked down at him, his eyes widening. He'd never seen a creature of that sort, and he was bewildered. Of course, he hadn't seen many people in his life. As the Kitsune addressed him, Carden stared forward with fear in his eyes. Would they help him, or would they deem him too taken by the dark to save? Would they kill him, or even worse, take him back? With a gulp, he nodded.

Sabin was just about to open his mouth to laugh at Poe getting zapped before the lights flickered to darkness. He gasped as the green light propelled from Poe's gun flew across the room. He'd seen energy weapons such as that before, but never in actual effect. That thing could turn a human to a pile of goo in no time, he realized. Remembering that for future caution, Sabin pulled out his pistol from the holster strapped to his thigh. Why were the lights out, did the electricity supply cut out or something? Sabin doubted that a place this fancy would have a wavering power supply. Maybe it was some kind of sabotage and any second a mob of giant, flesh-eating mutants would swarm the room. he thought that was more more likely. Having no way to see in the darkness himself, Sabin swung his pistol around slowly, not able to see anywhere. As Dallas's lighter flickered on, he looked towards it wearily. It was probably a trap, drawing the now blind members collected in the room towards the light. Was this all some elaborately planned assassination? Sabin pointed his pistol toward the light, ready if anything popped out in the darkness.

Years Later. (Harry Potter Based RP)

Because trees are super fun! I went to the top of one tree and then swung over to a higher one, but that one had no branches to get down on ;-; and I couldn't get the courage to slide down it. Courage is hards. I ended up doing it though! >:O And I learned about this awesome $5 book store and they had every Harry Potter Book hardcover, and they're having a big Harry Potter party soon! It sounded awesome! xD

It's okay Nerdy, no problem! Hope you had a good day. And lightly cooked toast is the main reason I wake up in the morning. Toast is the lifeblood of human society, no one would survive without it. It's how we survived World War Two, it's how we made it to the moon! Toast is everything.

Ah, yeah I forgot to point that out. In the stories it is told that only one person was ever born with any powers of magick. She had no control over the powers and it came on at random times such as when strong emotions were shown. This is what started the war in the Old World due to conflict over the tremendous power. It could be learned to control, but it would take years on years. It would be much easier to extract the magic in some way with some kind of contraption. Currently, all of the magick that the girl had in the old world has been scattered across artifacts hidden across the world. It is unknown what would occur if one were to find these, and it could be vastly different. Most of this is believed to be myths, though some dedicate their Lives to the research. A pc could have magic if you can think up a good reason, though it would be completely uncontrollable and would come on with no choice. My character technically is a magickal artifact, though he has yet to show any power and only some kind of magickal trigger would ever make it shown.

And magick is accessed mentally, usually leading to great physical and mental costs when performed.
