That can also be away that people can get gold if they take a sub job, and it lvls with there class lvl. Like in most mmorpgs Ive [played like aion had sub jobs or jobs. Just asking.

Here's the thing, he won't recruit anyone whom he feels isn't ready to take action or will hesitate and put the lives of others in danger. He wants to protect people and figures the best way to do that is to clear a path for them, but he isn't stupid enough to go in alone and so he will search for players that can handle the pressure.
