Certain demons/creatures of the mirror world. Them kidnapping is more common of a thing then you think. It's how the human population came in. And a few other animals. Portals can be any mirror/reflection of a sort on earth but they are rare and scattered. Also seems alright. We would start off in the general vicinity of one another.
