Current Sleep? No, I don't need to sleep.

Bio

You want to know about me, huh? Well, I am a type 0 super luminous star as classified by the Yerkes Spectral classification system. Now, I know it seems impossible that a star can type on a computer but I don't care about that. I've been roleplaying for roughly four years now. I tend to stick to my fantasy, sci-fi, and anime roleplays but have been known to go beyond that. I am comfortable playing both male and female roles. I have no posting schedule but do tend to be more active in the afternoon and on weekdays. I live in Central Time Zone (UTC-06:00) for those who are wondering.

Name: Niginami Yorkusiv
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Race: Vedalken
Guild: Azorius Senate
Why you are in the Azorius Senate:Niginami has always been drawn to the majestic force that is justice and thus Niginami was drawn to the Azorius Senate, the embodiment of Justice. When Niginami was first starting out as a lawmage, he saw little to almost no action. He was given the easy criminals, the ones who committed small crimes that were barely worth his time. Niginami almost thought about leaving the Azorius Senate for a different guild but he was pulled back in by a singular memory, the murder of his parents by a guildless human.
Magic abilities (if any):
Lawmagic-Niginami can use the law of the Guildpact in order to restrain criminals. He has been doing lawmagic since he was ninteen years of age. Niginami has a total count of twenty three convicted criminals.
Personality: Niginami is a rather dull vedalken, as many of them are, and tends to show little emotion. The only emotion Niginami has ever shown in public is that of a feverish, almost hysterical, drive for justice. Niginami is more or less, private and unwilling to talk to others about his life in public. When Niginami is at home, his emotional privacy slips a to reveal that he cares deeply for not just law but also for the search of knowledge. Niginami loves to read books and manuscripts so he can learn more about everything.
Appearance:
Other: Niginami isn't known for his kindness but he always takes time out of his day to do one kind act.
Petty officers are the three ranks above E-3, they are basically NCOs. There is the E-4 Petty officer third class, E-5 Petty officer second class, and E-6 Petty officer first class. There are of course ranks above that such as the E-7 Chief Petty Officer, E-8 Senior Chief Petty Officer, and E-9 Master Chief Petty Officer. But we are more likely to see quite a few E-1 to E-3 in the med bay with the exception of a couple of squad leader E-4 to E-6s. The E-4s through E-6s are responsible for leading squads in a company while the Chief Petty Officers would be the ones likely to take control of the platoons in the case that their Ensign is not there. But basically the Petty officer classes mean you've been in service for a little while.
And I am going to make this comment here to state the obvious. A ship the size of the Vigilance would have not one med bay but two if not three med bays. There would be a fore and aft med bay and each would have a commander rank or above medical officer. There are likely to be a commanding officer for the medical bay and a XO in charge if the CO is not available. In my case, I would be the CO of a medical bay(most likely the aft med bay) and the XO would be a Lieutenant Commander or Lieutenant. The size of the ship and amount of people who work on it makes it so that there is most likely a hundred or so medial corpsmen and women or more. The lowest rank we can have in the medical bay would be a Hospitalman recruit and the rank above those are as follows. E-2: Hospitalman Apprentice, E-3: Hospitalman . That is just basic ranking for them. After that they are petty officers.
Well, they did call the Germanic tribes barbarians but the same name stuck for the Vikings. After the conquest of the northern parts of Europe by the Romans, they would have encountered the occasional raid from the Vikings. This is due to the fact that every winter the Vikings would stay at their villages but would go out every spring and fall on raiding seasons. On these seasons they went south because they believed that the world ended if they went to the west. The Romans would have encountered the Vikings during these skirmishes and would find more of them later one when they took to 'civilizing' Britannia. Of course, this meant that the Romans fought a war against the clans of Britannia and the Vikings, who had happened to have pacts with a clan or two.

The shield wall would most likely come later on. That move was essentially created by the Spartans and adopted by the Romans because it was a great move. The turtle is also another Roman move which clarified that all shields were formed into basically a turtle. The turtle was based off of the shield wall which was purely kept between the Romans and the assimilated societies of Greece. It is unlikely that we would be capable of having knowledge of it unless we are set in the period of time after contact between Vikings and Romans. Essentially, the Vikings assimilated the shield wall after several battles with the Romans.
Well, Vikings are best described as wild. They rarely used complex formations such as a Phalanx or the Turtle as would have been used by Spartans and Romans. Vikings preferred a fighting style which focused more on a surprise attack. They just rushed into the battle as soon as possible and fought with a fever. They were the ones that Romans called Barbarians, which was generally used to describe how the Vikings fought. A Viking warrior would typically be in a state of 'bloodlust' which contributed to the Romans hatred for them. Vikings were almost the exact opposite of a Roman Platoon or Battalion.

Now, this is not to say that they don't use tactics. Some Vikings used the normal tactic of waiting out their opponents. If they were entrapped in a keep, the Vikings would surround the place with fires and wait for them to come running out. They also took to hunting the villagers instead of rushing in. They would send a few Vikings in to terrorize the villagers and run them out of town and then they would have several archers posted around the village to pick them off. Either way, the villagers would die in the raid.
Well, I am going to throw myself into this roleplay. I've always liked the Viking world but I could never find one which was open. I am looking to be in a less of a close combat role but a more ranged combat role. That should place at either a warrior or a hunter. Also, the Vikings taught practically everyone in their villages how to fight(except women) so that they could protect the village while the others are out raiding. They weren't trained like your regular warrior would be but they could wield a sword well enough to kill someone. But, if they tried to fight a Viking warrior they would die. They also might not be entirely capable of killing wolves or bears.
Well I hope I haven't arrived too late to the party. I will post my decision on what guild I am taking tomorrow morning. For now, I need sleep.
Edit: I will take the Selesnya Conclave make that the Azorious Senate.
And now I am done with my first post. It just took a little inspiration to get me back into the writing mood.
The subtle sounds that played over Jodi's earpiece belayed to the others around her that she was not paying attention but it was the exact opposite. Jodi was paying attention to everything around her while listening to her earpiece. "Whatch ya listening to there?" came a inquisitive voice to Jodi's left. When Jodi turned her head to answer she noticed two subtle facts about the inquisitive person, he was a E-3 and was comissed to work in her medical bay. "Oh, well. I like to listen to books while I am sitting around. Your name is Vincent Young, correct?" Jodi said to the Hospitalman. The young man looked a little puzzled after Jodi's question, which was somewhat understandabe.

"Oh, uh yeah that is me. Why do you ask and how do you know my name?" says Vincent to Jodi as he resettles himsef in his seat. Jodi looks over the Hospitalman Young once before noticing his uneasyness. "Oh, well I remember your name from the roster. You are working in my medical bay after all. I am Commander Jodi Winters by the way. No need to be so tense." Jodi tells Hospitalman Young with the last part being put in because of the notable tenseness he took on when Jodi told him who she is. It took a few minutes of silence between the two until Vincent began to speak. "I... am glad to--" the hospitalman trails off as the speakers click on.

"All registered personnel to Unit Code 32-97-42 report to Hanger Bay Alpha. The Vigilance is now making final preparations for departure."

"Oh, well we will need to get moving then. I will see you on the Vigilance Hospitalman Young." Jodi says as she turns off her earpiece and walks to the hanger bay. There were plenty of people wandering around the hanger bay when she arrived. Jodi stopped in her tracks as soon as she noticed the Vigilance. It was such a beautiful ship in the lighting of the bay. There wasn't a scratch on the battlecruiser but Jodi knew that it might not stay that way for long. Jodi nearly tripped as she walked over to a group of medical personele but a firm hand grasped her shoulder and held her upright.

Jodi looked over at the person who helped her stay upright and noticed it was Hospitalman Young. "You almost fell there Commander, you should watch your step more often." Vincent says to Jodi as he lets go of her shoulder. Jodi was about to say thanks with a voice called out, "ATTENTION ON HANGAR! ADMIRAL ON DECK!" Jodi ran in to the formation as quickly as possible and awaited orders from her Admiral. After listening to the short but insperational speech made by the Admiral. Jodi started to move to the line of people boarding the Vigilance and waited to get on. This was the first step in something big for Jodi and possibly the world.
Well, I guess I am up for a little bit of horror writing.
