First, I am SO going to call this one, but Kessler.

Yup. Alternate Cole that comes back (somehow) to our world and is directly responsible for 90% of the stuff that happens to Cole. Plus, Sasha, that lady that ran the Reapers, is his GF. I always thought she was a hot girl, putting the obvious mental insanity aside, and with my newfound hearing courtesy of my cochlear implant, I am OBSESSED with the way people sound. Before, I could hear, but I had to turn the volume up, and focus. Now- natural!

Did the Commander always sound like someone placed the vocal cords of a snake in his throat?
Kessler has one heckuva voice.
Arrow's Slade almost sound like he's whispering sometimes
Hollow Ichigo sounds like a T-Rex when he roars
The above comments are an example of my newfound obsession with the way characters and people sound.

That's the second character I made; the first, Kenny, his literal name is Kenpatchi because I didn't know of another cool-sounding name out of which Kenny could be a nickname

I wish I had a sword-release gif in my sig....sigh....but they're hard to find when you don't want Zangetsu and what you really want is either Rukia's "Dance, Sode no Shirayuki" or Ulquiorra's "imprison, Murcielago"

Appearance: a Soul Reaper gi with no shirt, short-cropped hair and a black hood with a mask covering everything from nose to collarbone, and hands wrapped from forearm to knuckle in black cloth. He is EXTREMELY built. Scars crisscross his torso and he is missing his left eye. He has never bothered to put a patch over the eye, and has no eyelid for that socket. TIMESKIP: he has abandoned the hood and in place of what he used to wear, now dresses in full Samurai armor save for the helmet.

Age: (Keep it sensible! Think of it like this. 10 Shinigami years equal 1 of our years so a 19 year old would be 190. Just what we go by) 240

Personality: Outside of battles, Kenny is hard to pin down to any one personality type, and prefers to stay within the Seireitei's library rather than interact with others due to a dislike of conversation. He is a loner by some accounts, preferring to keep a small circle of friends rather than a large social set.

In battles he possesses a quiet, calm rage that allows him to rage at his opponent in a tactical, analytical mind. He is sadistic against opponents, largely as psychological revenge for the beatings he received prior to entering the academy.

History: Kenny does not remember much of his life before coming to the Academy; he cannot even remember his real name, only the persistent beatings and rough life in the Rukongai. What he does remember is admiring the captains of the Gotei 13, and in particular remembers seeing a move he would later learn was Hado #90. From then on, he set his goals: become a captain and learn the Hado that had fascinated him for what little of his life he remembers. His goals were not met by all with welcome arms; he was beaten almost routinely by the more priveledged for aspiring so high. They did not know that his dreams would allow him to see beyond the hell that was the roughest part of the Rukongai, and achieve the strength needed to rise above and become captain.

However, once inside the academy, Kenny was welcomed and he acclimatised to life there quickly, being trained as if his life depended on it. He excelled at Hado and close quarters combat, while showing some skill in sword fighting. Eventually he came under the purview of the former squad 11 captain and was offered a place there upon graduation. Kenny accepted and threw himself into his studies with two goals in mind: become captain and master Hado #90: Kurohitsugi. During a training incident, however, he lost his left eye by accident. In response, he beat the other student to a bloody pulp with his bare hands, despite the other boy being on the fast track to Lt. Captain. It was a feat which largely impressed his instructors, and in particular the man who taught him Kido.

After graduation, he sat and meditated with his Zanpakuto and learned its name after five days. Despite being unseated, he shows promise.

2.a slash similar to a getsuga tensho in function.(2 post cool down/1 post duration.) It is named Shadow wave or Kage no nami
3. Increased speed by 20% (3post duration/4 post cooldown)
4. Darkness generation similar to what Tosen was able to do but without the sensory deprivation, rather, it simply forces the battlefield to shrink to a more intimate level by way of illusion. Lasts for entire battles but can only use once per day. As yet, Sankontessuo has not revealed the name of this move to him. As a result its effectiveness is reduced by 50%.

A handsome man with close cropped black hair and dark green eyes, Kaien wears the traditional gi of Soul Reapers with a white fingerless glove that extends to his entire torso and the bridge of his nose. It leaves his left arm and shoulder bare

Personality: With a zeal for combat and cold exterior, Kaien can be hard to get along with at first. He is cold when calm, but has a temper which results in a permanent tremor in his right hand when not in battle. However, after warming up to others, Kaien can come across as a sociable, if obsessive individual. He spends most of his time near Squad 11's barracks and wishes to join them. When in battle, Kaien is utterly still, moving only with what is required to kill his opponent, attacking with ferocity when necessary; but the ferocity of his attacks are recognized for what they really are: a release for his rage. He sees violence as the only logical response to a threat due to his kill-or-be-killed upbringing.

1. The blade is wrapped in shadows that take the shape of flames, allowing the blade to be instantaneously summoned from his shadow. This is purely a summoning ability and the flames are useless without Ability 3. They are however, a part of the Shikai appearance and do not dissipate until the sword is sealed.

3. Through ability #1, Kaien can charge his Reiatsu into the flame-shadows and increase the striking power of his Zanpakutō . (2 post use, 3 post cool down)

Kenpatchi "Kenny"

Kenny knelt before the Head Captain, keeping his head bent as a sign of immense respect. When he noticed the other Reiatsu, Kenny did not change his expression, only increasing his own subconsciously. Knowing the Head Captain likely disapproved of this, he willed his Reiatsu back into control.

As he spoke in his deep, deep bass, he did so cautiously, and only with the most respectful language he could think of. "Head Captain, sir, I have come here to respectfully request a mission, and came here as all of the other captains were busy. Otherwise, I would not have bothered you, sir. I know you have more important things to do than attend to matters such as this."

He kept his head down, and like a hallucination, his Zanpakutō spirit, Sankontessuo (Iron Reaver) appeared beside him, knelt in the similar fashion as he was. Looking towards the Head Captain with his head still bent low, he saw that Sankontessuo was kneeling in awe of the Head Captain's Zanpakutō spirit. The situation matched the owners; one incomprehensibly powerful, the other strong, but not a captain yet. Kenpatchi felt the irony of the situation in spades. For all of Sankontessuo's boasting and quoting, he still kneeled to his "betters."

Ohhhh. So when Ulquiorra was ranked 4th, he was the fourth strongest? Anyway, thanks for the explanation. I appreciate it. I'm sure I'll appreciate it more when my eyes stop watering from puffy ness to the point where I can barely see. I apologize form my sickness-induced stupid questions. I'm also gonna sound stupid here but this confuses me. Everyone talks about Espadas as if they're different from Arrancars. I always thought they were just captain level Arrancars?

Appearance: . (Yes, i know this is Mugetsu Ichigo, but cut the hair short and make the eyes green, make the black energy orange and make the grey white with a haori design at the wrist, throw a soul reaper gi on top and you have Kaien)

History: A soul who has lived in the Rukongai for most of his life, Kaien comes from low class beginnings, suffering beatings from those around him for no reason other than survival of the fittest. Growing up, he was an angry kid; living in the hellish time near the end of the previous Soul Society. The beatings soon stopped, but the life of violence grew worse; hollows took over a quadrant of the Rukongai, backed by the enemy the soul reapers of days past could not defeat. Soon, the regular Soul Reapers pulled back and Captains and Lieutenants, sometimes 3rd seats patrolled the quadrant.

One by one they all fell, not to the hollows, but to the Enemy no normal soul dared look upon, for fear of death. While he was still a boy, hiding from the Enemy, he came upon a man who would come to be his idol: The (now deceased) Captain of Squad 11. Their meeting was by chance, and it followed like this: Kaien was hiding from the Enemy in a house, hidden in a closet, raging at himself and his predicament when he felt an unusual, massive amount of spiritual pressure. Crawling on the floor, he peeked over the window. There stood the Captain of squad 11, decimating his opponent in a matter of minutes. When the bloodshed was over, the captain noticed Kaien, and walked over, introducing himself. He immediately noticed the kid's rage and decided to take him in, formally adopting Kaien in an effort to harness the rage Kaien felt into a constructive weapon instead of a destructive path. The dead captain loved Kaien as if he was Kaien's biological father, even leaving the Haori to Kaien in his will. Kaien was brought to the Seireitei, living in the Captain's quarters as he grew.

Unfortunately, this peace was not to last; Kaien's adoptive father fell to the Enemy, right before Kaien's eyes. This resulted in the permanent tremor in Kaien's right hand and the resurgence of his rage. In an effort to protect Kaien, he was sent to the Academy, where he spent a longer amount of time than any other graduate; the only time he left the grounds was for his adoptive father's funeral. Kaien was given the Haori and per his wishes, it still hangs in Squad 11's barracks, both a reminder of their fallen leader and a promise. However, a piece of the bottom was stripped off and fashioned into Kaien's glove.

He has recently left the grounds; a graduate and ready to prove his worth.
