Yeah, Kiril is really more of a support character. Though bear in mind that he's quiteaspects, cunning, and could likely hold his own in some scenarios surprisingly well. Perhaps given some instruction by the more experienced crew members, he can grow to be very versatile. As you watch Guardians of the Galaxy, think of him filling a role somewhat similar to Rocket Raccoon.

Though I do plan on having him develop in other aspects, as basically pointed out in my sheet. If it's any further indication to what my plans are, I'll say that a major inspiration for Kiril was Amuro Ray from Mobile Suit Gundam.
Name: Kiril Genome

Age: 16

Gender:Male

Appearance: Kiril has the appearance of a perfectly normal male human of his age, save for the natural streaks of cyan in his otherwise platinum blonde hair, and his neon green eyes. He is apparently something of a late bloomer, as he is slight in build, with soft, childlike features, and is 64 inches tall on a good day. Despite his otherwise underdeveloped appearance, his gaze his hard and knowing, as though his eyes were those of someone decades older. His multicolor hair hangs in a loose shag to the bottom of his neck, and Kiril's pale skin is marred only by a few minor scars on his hands and forearms, as well as a larger one at the base of his head, mostly hidden by hair.

Apparel: When piloting, Kiril wears a black flightsuit of his own design. It is form-fitting and very sleek, with metal elements designed to secure him into and interface with the cockpit of the Star Vampire, as well as built-in life-support systems. He also wears a matching hermetically-sealed helmet with a tinted visor, which syncs with the Star Vampire's instruments to provide a HUD should the primary display go down.

Otherwise, he simply wears comfortable clothes, usually shorts, sneakers and an oversized hoodie. He owns a pair of welding goggles that he sometimes done to work on machinery, and then forgets to remove.

Equipment: Aside from simple engineering tools, Kiril only really carries his cellular phone. As a high-end model, it has numerous applications and functions, making it a surprisingly versatile tool.

Starfighter: Kiril's personal starfighter is the Star Vampire, a completely custom craft of his own design and construction. Extremely compact, the Star Vampire is only about a third the size of a normal starfighter, and its cockpit only seats a single person about Kiril's size.

Much like its pilot, the Star Vampire is far mightier than its size suggests. Its ion-pulse "Phobic Animus" propulsion system grants it prodigious speed and such a high degree of maneuverability that only a highly skilled pilot can even handle it without crashing. The Phobic Animus performs equally well in space, air and water, and its energy emissions are so low as to be barely detectable. The Star Vampire is FTL capable, but only in short jumps, with a battery recharge shortly after.

However, the most advanced system within the Star Vampire is its "Cor Leonis" computer, which can detect and plot the trajectory of anything from an enemy ship to a laser beam. This works in tandem with the fighter's "Ivonis" shield system, allowing any projectile to be deflected from the most optimal angle with perfect timing, creating a highly efficient and effective field of protection. However, the Cor Leonis is incomplete, and its more advanced functions require the pilot to do a considerable portion of the advanced calculations.

The Star Vampire is not merely a high-spec fighter; it has the ability to transform into a mecha for combat. In this form, it retains the advantages of the Cor Leonis and the Ivonis shields, but trades its speed and maneuverability for firepower. Its primary weapon is a chest-mounted laser called the "Hydra," which can either be fired as a single, powerful blast, or refracted into numerous, smaller beams. The Star Vampire's other weapons include plasma casters, hadron cannons, chaff missiles and grappling harpoons.

Skills: Kiril is, to put it bluntly, a genius. His intellect, calculating ability, and information retention all push the boundary of human capability. He can pick up most skills in a matter of hours, and perform better than whoever taught him by the next day. Kiril's talents mostly reside within the fields of particle and astrophysics and computer, mechanical and aerospace engineering, in which he is a certifiable prodigy.

Kiril is also an extremely talented starfighter pilot, able to outperform veterans triple his age. He is also a decent hacker, and has some knowledge of genetic engineering.

Abilities: While anyone can tell that Kiril is not an average human, closer examination reveals that he is actually noticeably distinct in his anatomy and neurology. He has a very powerful sense of spacial awareness, and his reflexes are so sharp that they border on the procognitive. His cardiovascular system is also surprisingly strong, allowing him to withstand incredible G-forces without losing consciousness.

Among more abstract abilities, Kiril is seemingly something of an empath, able to sense thr emotions of others, and tell friend from foe on instinct. While it has yet to be recorded, when in emotional distress Kiril radiates an intense, unknown energy, which at the moment only disturbs computer systems and energy-based projectiles.

Word-of-Mouth: The "Void Dragon" only hit the star-racing scene in the Deadzone a year ago, but he (if he even is a he) is already making huge waves. He has yet to be defeated in over twenty death-races, and his kill-count is already sky-high. As more people drop out of races in fear of him, just as many sign up for a chance to test their skills against this rising legend.
Would it be wrong to assume that Melissa observed the world for a great deal of time? I was planning on writing in his first, disastrous attempt at communication as being a major event in the distant past.
I'll post again fairly soon with Crowned-By-Fire doing things.
On the northern shores of Zarkoum, the outcast Glacene struggled immensely. Blown off course and then shipwrecked by a sudden storm, those that survived the jagged rocks and furious currents found themselvesred washed ashore in an alien and inhospitable land. Leon Metar, a priest of Glacinus for a mere three years, had been appointed leader of what remained of the refugees. The ship's captain had died in the wreck, and much of the higher Glacii soon after. If Krustaliem had been seeking to punish the Glacii for some unknown slight, Leon thought that they could not have met a more suitable fate.

The mere climate of this hellish land had already claimed a third of their number; the young, old, and sickly quickly perished from the heat alone. Pure water was difficult to procure, and Leon feared that dehydration would soon claim many more of them. There had been some short ventures into the thick jungle that bordered the beach, in search of food, survivors or civilization, but pitifully few returned. Thick, fresh branches were burned constantly, filling the air with noxious smoke. Many were made sick by it, but it was a nessecary measure after a child had been sucked dry by a mosquito the size of a dove. Aside from the phantom threats in the jungle, the Glacene had not yet encountered what could be interpreted as "people" since being cast away onto this brutal land, but Leon knew better than to relax himself. There were moments when he felt strongly like he was being watched, not only from the foliage but from the crashing waves as well. Those moments increased in frequency with each passing day.

On their eleventh night spent on the sands of that fateful beach, Leon nervously awoke from his already fitful sleep. He felt an overwhelming sense of dread, as though a terrible pressure was pushing down on him. Though he could not say why, he turned his attention to the nearby sea, and from the blackness of the ocean, all of his fears were realized. Great lumbering shapes emerged from the water, stalking onto the shore. From the fire's light he couldn't make out much at that distance, but he could see teeth, claws, and soulless, black eyes.

He wanted to get up, yell, scream, run, wake the others, nut he found himself frozen in fear. The pressure of the dread in his heart was pinning him to the ground. As the monsters finally descended upon the Glacene, Leon watched the nightmare unfold. With great, the washing jaws they tore apart his fellow survivors. They were torn limb from limb and devoured, their blood staining the sand a deep, dark red. The sound of ripping flesh and the cries of painful death filled the night, and Leon felt truly powerless.

Now closer to tthe fires, he could more clearly see these terrible beasts. They resembled fish that walked like men; unholy mockeries of nature that served no purpose but to kill and eat. As the survivors dwindled in number, too stunned to fight back, Leon laid limp, hoping to play dead and be overlooked. The sounds of carnage died down over time, and Leon dared to open his eyes to survey the scene. He immediately regretted it. Staring down at him was another fish-man, with an expression of what Leon almost perceived to be curiosity.

"A coward among the defilers?" It spoke in a shrill, yet guttural voice, "I'll savor you most."

As its massive jaws closed around him, Leon had a strange thought. Perhaps he was already dead; surely there could be no hell greater than this.
When will we be moving on to the challenges?

I would thoroughly enjoy reading a post all about refugees being murdered and cannibalized. It would give you a chance to display what Zarkoum is all about.

It would be my genuine pleasure. I'll get to work on it tomorrow. About how large are these refugee parties?
I could definitely get into this.
Glacinans arrive in Zarkoum, are promptly eaten, Crowned-By-Fire is never any the wiser.
I blame the majority of opening posts being: "Things sure are peaceful, stagnant and boring in my faction. Too bad I have no plans for my faction or character's plotline. I hope someone does something that I can react to soon."
