Name: Giovanni D'Ario
Age: 42
Gender: Male

Appearance: Giovanni is a tall and strongly-built man, and despite being somewhat on in his years, he retains an appearance no older than a young man of eighteen or nineteen. His features are striking and finely-wrought, giving him an elfin, almost androgynous appearance, though his piercing red eyes stand out greatly on his otherwise serene face. Giovanni's skin is fair and without blemish (with one notable exception), almost reminiscent of porcelain. Dressing in finery whenever the occasion allows, Giovanni is a great purveyor of silks and supple linens, often garnished by a tasteful amount of jewelry. Meticulous in his grooming, the length of his golden hair is always shining and without tangle, his nails are immaculately cut and polished and his entire body carries a clean, fragrant presence. However, the great disruptor of Giovanni's almost ethereal beauty is the thick, obvious scar that runs all the way around his neck, which he makes no effort to hide.

Role: Court Physician

Interests: Despite his obvious interest in matters of fashion and personal grooming, Giovanni is in fact a dedicated scientist, quite committed to his field of study. He has an avid interest in the functions and failings of the human body, and how it may be repaired and maintained. He frequently experiments with both alchemy and magic, inventing remedies and maladies all the same. He also takes an active role in matters of the court, politicking as well as any noble Witch.
Skills: Giovanni is a master alchemist, and an expert in magics relating to flesh, vital essence and living things; an art generally known as "biomancy." Skilled in anatomy, surgery, chemistry and herbology, Giovanni's ability as a physician has never been called into question, as he can quickly deduce what is ailing a body, and soon conjure a spell, potion, or other such treatment to right it. Often overlooked, though, is that the ability to heal often goes hand in hand with the ability to kill. Giovanni's alchemical ability and biomancy can bring an untimely end to many, frequently in seemingly natural or undetectable ways. Giovanni is also an authority on the creation of haemonculi, simple little creatures given life by magic that serve as his lab assistants. A skill not often seen in Giovanni is his charisma and ability as a shrewd negotiator, as he can quite easily read body language and use this knowledge to aid in manipulating others.

Personality: An eccentric and enigmatic fellow, Giovanni is known for his melodramatic and capricious nature. His mood and demeanor shift suddenly and dramatically; Giovanni may be a preening dandy one moment, and a startlingly serious scientist the next. He takes his work very seriously, though his patients he often does not. While paying the dues owed to the noble Witches to whom he owes his livelihood, Giovanni has a habit of subtly mocking or teasing them, which is considered playful by some and uncouth by others. However, those adept at reading into people find his presence incredibly discomforting, claiming that he wears the face of an actor, and yet they cannot tell what lies underneath.

Biography: The D'Ario family has served as the Court Physicians of the D'Cerf Coven for several generations, beginning with a wandering gypsy Witch-doctor employed by the noble house to cure ailing members of the Coven from a plague that was circulating at that time. Generations' worth of research, formulas and wisdom have been passed down to Giovanni, who was trained in the the skills of the healer by his father, Diego D'Ario. Even so, as a young man Giovanni had no interest in serving the D'Cerfs, instead choosing to travel the world, helping people wherever he could and learning esoteric secrets of medicine and magic.

However, about ten years ago, he received word that his father had fallen gravely ill, and he rushed back to Castle Moonshearth to be at his side. However, he was too late, and by the time he arrived, his father had passed from a condition of the heart. With no siblings, Giovanni took up his father's mantle, as was expected of him, and resumed his duties as the Court Physician. In the recent troubles with the Vilicus, Giovanni has been notably absent from the Castle on several occasions, including the claim to the D'Cerf throne, only to reappear later, acting as though he had never left. Curious letters and literature have also appeared within his laboratory as of late, relating to a mysterious "Order of the Dragon."

I'm honestly not sure that Sorin's choice of weapon is a particularly good one. Aside from being a unique item with an extremely high mana cost and called without any build-up or preparation, the creature it would summon is two or three times the power of your average dragon. On top of that, the very of the weapon and the creature it summons would mean Sorin finding himself in a rather dangerous situation. i.e., swordpoint.

Cough, spoilers, darling.
Are the planes as old as the mortal world? Perhaps creatures that no longer live in the mortal world still cast their shadow in the Verdant plane.
But here is the burning question I've been leading up to: can I have horrid little minions made of various scraps of flesh scuttling about my evil laboratory, completing menial tasks and gurgling, "Yes, master" to my melodramatic orders?

Well, not everything i write is knowledge my character knows of. Sazh definitely wouldn't know the formal name of the dragon's forms (unless he used a Librascope), nor would he have known Sorin was a planeswalker; it's all just pronouns that adhere to their respective characters, even when a character might not know of them.

I suppose narration isn't an issue, though the majority of RP is written in the limited third-person perspective.

Not really a big deal, just an observation.
Roze attempted to make small talk as they steadily ascended the mountain. Vincent didn't blame her too much for it; mortals often needed to talk about nothing at all just to keep themselves occupied. Vincent, on the other hand, was quite used to silence and solitude. At one point he had imposed a vow of silence onto himself, partially to see how long he could keep it up, and partially to reprimand himself for becoming involved in a series of events that nearly ended with him accidentally getting married. He had kept his tongue for fifteen years until he was forced to speak, at that moment rejecting a woman at their wedding altar. The world was a strange and unforgiving place.

Even so, he didn't feel like revealing too much to this girl; he was only humoring her, after all. "Cold is nothing to me." He said, bluntly, "Heat is... discomforting." His laconic answer was merely followed by the whipping of the wind as he continued on.
The dragon's sudden transformation gained from consuming the dragon that Sorin had zombified earlier quite pained the ancient vampire. Partly because this gruelling battle was going to be dragged out even further, partly because of the petty insults and poorly-conceived jokes now streaming in from the peanut gallery. Sorin wasn't the type prone to bouts of homicidal rage (at least, not particularly recently), but if he was ever going to have one of those moments, this was probably how it would start. Regardless, he shook away the thought and returned his focus to the battle at hand.

The new form of the dragon was admittedly impressive, and were it not for its strong Red mana signature (mixed with Black as it was), Sorin would have committed the battle to memory so that he might summon the beast later. Even so, a legendary foe demanded a legendary weapon. Sorin drew strongly upon the mana in the area, pulling forth whatever color he could, no matter of what it gave him. He drained the area so thoroughly, the vibrancy of the scenery seemed to dull and fade around him, and small plants and animals about his feet withered to dust.

The form of his summon began to coalesce before Sorin, an unusually powerful resonance from the Aether gradually assuming a solid form. Soon enough, though, the summon was complete, and Sorin held Elbrus, the Binding Blade. Rather unassuming for such a powerful artifact, it was a shortish dagger, carved from bone with numerous strange runes and sigils carved along its length. However, Sorin knew the blade's secrets, and its secrets now knew of him.

"Release me..." Elbrus whispered into Sorin's mind. "Release me and the greatest of vengeance shall be yours."

While not particularly perturbed by the cursed blade's murmurings, Sorin regardless wanted no part of what was to come. He needed to be as far as he could from this blade when it gained its much desired release. Meaning he needed another person to wield it. Ideal would be someone that would be neither intimidated by haunted dagger, nor immediately obligated to destroy it, needless to say able to wield it and drive it into the dragon. The large, red, masked man Sorin spotted a short ways ahead seemed as likely a candidate as any, if his strong Black mana signature was anything to judge by.

Sorin approached Kane, offering the blade hilt-first as he said, "Here, my friend, take this. I'd like you to use it on the dragon over there, you look like you can handle it. Not terribly difficult, just stick the pointy end in and make sure you draw blood. Oh, and I'd get away from this thing very quickly afterwards if I were you."
Guess it's just a thing with interplanar beings, since Planeswalkers all seem to conveniently speak the same language, despite being from different dimensions. I guess Sorin is speaking, idunno, Innistradi or Stesnian or something.

Speaking of, it's odd how Sorin keeps getting referred to as a Planeswalker by the others, despite having never mentioned that term aloud.

Anyway, I'm throwing a post down soon.
Do the inhabitants nessecarily have to be "demonic"? I was aiming toward being more themed around nature spirits, shamans, shapeshifters and ferocious beasts.
Could definitely be interested in this. Would an animistic "Nature" plane inhabited by spirits (of the totemic variety) be an acceptable Plane for a faction to draw from?
