We "do the impossible" now?

So, wait.... If the stake in the heart halts his regenerative abilities... Then twisting it would kill him? I mean, it ain't pumpin blood, oxygen flow stops within 7 seconds, blood stops flowing immediately, I mean, a stake is pretty big, it's crush at least two chambers just by being there. All you'd have to do to destroy the rest of it it just, twist it a little bit, or even like a blender, just the force to turn a doorknob would sever the arteries and veins, crush the remaining chambers, and basically deflate it like a sad, little heart balloon. Not that I'm an expert of staking people... Or crushing hearts.... Except for that one time in freshman year... Sorry Samuel....

Basically the idea is that his regeneration "halts" because it's working overtime to keep him alive without a functioning heart. If empowered by blood, he can still function, minus any of his regenerative abilities. If at baseline, he's made catatonic until his body fails from being unsustained. Once the stake is removed, his heart can actually heal itself and his body resumes normal functions.

I basically want a little "screw you" for anyone that thinks he can be treated like any old vampire; that human blood has its benefits as well as its weaknesses.

What I mean is that I really REALLY REALLY don't think there's any plausible way for him to survive staking in the heart, neither side of his race has immunity to that. It's one of the cornerstone ways to kill both a vampire and a human, there's no reason for him to suddenly be immune to it.

I'm taking a cue from a couple of my inspirational sources. Essentially what happens is that both sides cancel each other out. The human side removes the symbolic insta-kill weakness of the heart. The vampire side keeps the human side from dying without a heart by focusing all of its regenerative efforts on keeping him alive without a beating heart. If he isn't blood-empowered when he's staked, he'll be rendered comatose from the effort.

Even a full vamp dies from heart staking, albeit if you get them in the coffin. How does a half vamp survive it?HOW DO I KILL YOU CRUISER?!

There's a few options... staking him basically makes him as mortal as can be. Fire is a massive weakness, and one that exaggerates as he becomes stronger. I think I'm going to add in an inability to swim... he'll just sink like a rock. He's still quite sensitive to sunlight, though normal-strength sunbeams can't kill him.

Spawnling said THAT'S A F*CKING THING!?

Space Ripper Stingy Eyes aren't normal... but on Jojo's they are.
Meh. Had a crappy date. Went and saw Dracula, though, so not a total loss.

Hmm...well, the main thing I'm worried about is the regenerating limbs part. How about cauterization, any wounds that are burned shut or cauterized *possibly by acid as well, to give our villain a way to actually be threatening* will regenerate exceedingly slowly. That gives you the potential for being a tough opponent, but also for the enemy to learn from their mistakes and actively challenge you later on.It's really just the regrowing limbs that throws me, the rest of it I'm fine with.

I'm fine with burn wounds healing at a far slower rate. Ties in just fine with his pyrophobia. Perhaps instead a stake in the heart immediately killing him, it halts his regenerative ability until the stake is removed? As far as the limbs go, how does easy reattachment sound? Like he pops em back on as easily as you would on an action figure. Again, only in his "enhanced vampiric" state.

Spawnling said He's a half vampire, the dominating part throws me for a loop and it also has the potential for removing some challenge to a lot of situations. I'd say maybe he can influence particularly weak willed individuals at best. I personally don't like it but if it's something you REALLY want, I'll leave the final say to Viridian, I won't be upset by it if she allows it or anything. The inhuman beauty I'm totally fine with.

Dominance can be cut without much issue from me. It can easily be chalked up as a power exclusive to true vampires.

Spawnling said And I really REALLY hope Dead Cruiser doesn't feel that I'm attacking him or anything, that's not what I'm trying to do at all, so if it comes off as that, I apologize wholeheartedly. I'm just trying to keep things moving smoothly for everyone, and that means keeping ya'll rowdy kids on a level playing field.

Yeah, no, we're good. This is certainly one of the most civil discussions I've had regarding hammering out the specifications of a character's abilities.

Spawnling said Viridian gets final say in all things, and if she says "LET THE VAMPIRE SHOOT LASERS FROM HIS EYES!" then I'll accept that as well.

Vampire laser eyes you say?
Spawnling: Shin's frenzies would be about what you'd imagine; he essentially loses his higher reasoning and enters a beastial state of "fight or flight," wherein he can only comprehend feeding and his own survival.

I would rather have stronger regeneration than overall durability. Purely to stay truer to my inspirational sources. We could make him no more resilient than a normal person, but with extreme regenerative ability.

The charisma would be partly a strange, inhuman beauty, but I was also thinking of granting him the power to dominate the minds of the weak-willed. Typical "vampire servant" stuff.

Dead Cruiser: Regenerating super strong super fast dude with no outstanding weaknesses. I think you should add a heavier penalty to your guy. I understand the sunlight resistance *else you'd be stuck indoors during any form of daytime RPs* but at the moment, he doesn't have any flaws that can be used against him. He's just a super human with mild garlic allergies, the ability to control 'creatures of the night' which is a broad statement, and shape shifting. Explain the limits of his shape shifting, at the moment it feels way too vague, and if I recall *vamp lore is all over the place depending on where you look* they can only turn into a wolf or flock of bats. Consider something creative like removing the shape shifting or limiting it to only during the night. Instead of regeneration, he can only recover from any wound that doesn't pierce his heart provided he rests on grave-soil or in a coffin or even he's simply a tough human in the day, but at night he's super fast and super strong, so any daytime attacks force him to use weapons or think creatively to survive and keep his charge safe. Put simply, my problem with the CS is that he has nothing that can be used against him, he's just all around powerful. Also, does he need to drink blood or does the half human part void that?

Planned alterations for your review:

-Can command primarily nocturnal creatures, or creatures active during the night.
-For shapeshifting, he can assume the full or partial form (partial meaning claws, fangs, etc.) of animals that he can put under his command at any time (bats, wolves, spiders, etc.) , becoming a swarm if his mass requires it. Limited to night time.
-Baseline strength and speed are only slightly above a very powerful human. He can empower himself to full vampiric levels by drinking blood, but abusing this can put him in a frenzy.
-Regeneration remains superhuman, but can still be amplified. Baseline is recovering from a "mortal" wound in a few hours. Empowered is regrowing limbs in seconds.
-Adding a weakness to and phobia of fire. Weaknesses manifest as powers are amplified by blood.
-Potentially adding vampiric stealth and charisma as empowered abilities.

Dead Cruiser, just a warning. You mentioned one of your character's interests was martial arts. I am a martial artist, one who has been taking it for over half her life. I am a black belt and can be considered an expert on the subject. If you decide to use martial arts during the roleplay or have your character talking about it and don't know what you're talking about, along with virtually punching you in the face, I'll also be going into a lengthy detailed correction on what its really suppose to be like.Martial arts is my life and my career, right now I have the honor of passing my skills on to other people in the form of teaching them. There's nothing I hate more than people who talk about something they don't know anything about.Of course if you are a martial artist just ignore everything I've just said.

I've altered my CS to something else to avoid conflict. Please be aware in the future of how incredibly obnoxious that lengthy ultimatum happened to be.
Name: Ketsuryu Shinobu

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Role: Bodyguard

Apartment No: 3A

Race: Dhampir

Abilities: As an essentially half-blooded vampire, Shin retains many of the abilities of his full-blooded preginators. His strength, speed and regeneration are all superhuman, but increase to the level of any "true" vampire if he consumes blood. When night falls, he can take command over nocturnal beasts or assume their forms (wholly or in part). His movements are unnaturally stealthy, and Shin is capable of moving in absolute silence if he so chooses. His power amplifies with the more blood that he drinks, depending on the "potency" of the blood. He has yet do drink the blood of a vampire (considered the most concentrated form of blood), but strange rumors exist of what happens to a dhampir that drinks the blood of a "true" vampire.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Given that he is only half vampire, Shin has access to only "baseline" vampiric abilities, and only after consuming blood. Granted that these are fantastic powers well beyond the ability of any normal human, they pale in comparison to what a normal vampire is capable of. His abilities cannot extend beyond that which he is currently capable of, though he can increase his skill in their use. His human blood does come with its advantages, however, as he can easily stand in the sun (though prolonged exposure will give him a particularly nasty sunburn), crosses and other such symbolic banes do not affect him, and he has only a mild allergic reaction to garlic. He ages, though still very slowly, and requires normal human sustenance, such as food, water, sleep and air, though he does not suffer as much from deprivation. Shin has an intense phobia of fire, and burn wounds take far longer for him to heal compared to "normal" wounds. As he consumes more blood to increase his power, his weaknesses also become intensified, and he runs the risk of falling into a beastial, mindless frenzy wherein he can only comprehend feeding and his own survival. When empowering himself with blood, he also loses his ability to swim; sinking like a rock when submerged in running water.

Bio: The bastard offspring of a high-blooded vampire noble and a Japanese jazz musician, Shin was cast out of vampire society at the age of two for being an "half-blooded abomination." While not raising him out of fear of losing their standing within the court of nobles, Shin's vampiric parent hid him away in his home country to protect him. Never coming to know either of his parents or his true lineage, he was raised in a Tokyo orphanage until the age of thirteen, whereupon he was cast out from fear of his strange abilities. Shin was then taken in by a bosozoku gang, where he was valued for his strength and skill on a bike and in a fight. He spent his teenage years as a punk and petty criminal, eventually coming to perform minor jobs for the yakuza.

He was eventually approached by the being known as the Landlord, and then learned of his true nature. He was extended an offer to live among his kind and earn his living honestly; by protecting his own against the beings that shunned and hoped to kill him. Finding identity among the youkai, Shin accepted his offer, and has come to work as a bodyguard at Primrose Terrace.

Other: He has an avid interest in motorcycles, combat sports and video games. His favorite food is golden chocolate doughnuts.
