I've been considering just making all the mechs myself and giving you the option of choosing which "frame" to pick and what sort of loadout to take with the mech, since when I initially envisioned the RP's mechs, I pictured mostly 4-5 meter tall mechs that I could see being produced on a mass scale at a relatively cheap price carrying an up to scale assault rifle of sorts. The custom mech thing just isn't working out when everyone bases their mechs off of pictures they find, throws on weapons like the railgun or MAC gun from the Halo universe and uses as a level of measurement for their mech. That, and I just don't see there being such a diverse range of mechs being made this early on.

Ouah. You have my support 100% on that decision.
Okay if I took the time out of my day to write up a platoon and made it up and nicknamed it and everything. I would also take the time out of my day to see who is interested. If my character was a 1st LT then I would tell anyone in my platoon who was above me in rank to drop in rank or GTFO. The only exception to that rule would be if I gave someone else permission to lead my platoon.

Lol, someone's got mad.My mech will probably be a lightly armored mech that's about the height of a 2-story building, with two great big antenna thingies that's probably about 3 1/2 stories tall, and can even remotely control orbital bombers. Light weaponry; chaingun, autocannon, and maybe two shoulder-mounted small rocket salvos. Maybe I'll replace the rocket launchers with shield projectors, if we have those.Obviously, a command unit. Not exactly as in giving the orders, but in that he tells people "Hey, " or perhaps the helpful "", or even better, ""

You'd be to if you read through 8 pages of this.
Also. If you lead a platoon like the Hard Knocks or the polish recon regiments you should probably go through the CS' as well so you can find out whose on your team and act accordingly. Wouldn't be very smart to start with someone in your toon who is higher ranked than your Platoon lead. Also GM I apologize ahead of time but reading some of these CS' this is indeed the case. Organize this shit, write it down, assign squad leads who act under the will of a toon leader.
I can see the Patton being painted Olive green with an really old WW2 Allied star on it's chest, since it's a heavy I can see it with a large armament for either long distance shelling of fortified positions, or anti mech usage, but it's slow and lumbering an easy target for more speedy mechs that have the capability to tear through heavy armor. Little things like that go a long long way. Instead of I'm gonna add another weapon, oh and cloaking equipment, oh and jet boots and shit. From what I've read this is early into the conflict so ask your self this. "It's early, both sides haven't even fired a shot. Do I really need this kinda shit right now, when it can be added later into the conflict." You can roleplay so much about that maybe your mech is out of commission because your upgrading it and you need to ground pound for awhile I don't know. But in the end your the player and I don't control this shit so there you go. You don't have to listen to me. But I just read through eight pages of bullshit and it gave me a headache.

ok so I don't remember anyone having anything that was "one man walking army made to take out nations" except maybe the pattons ULTRA gun, but if the GM wants to discuss what people were going to put on their mechs I don't think that it should be up to criticism. Such as I had a railgun to deal with heavy mechs with a substantial cooldown and charge up, however the GM felt it was OP so I removed it. That is perfectly reasonable stage of getting CS's approved so I don't see what the problem is.

The problem is you guys say your done but you just add more and more weapons and equipment. Instead of adding more weapons ask yourself "How can my pilot reflect on my mech or vice versa." So let's say your guy grew up in the big city used to run with bikers. Maybe he paints his biker gangs patch on the mech or a flame decal. Add on little shit to flesh out your Mech and or character. Not big ass cannons and laser swords.

dude what are you talking about? we are talking to the GM about what are mechs are allowed to have.

If you don't know, then go with the basics. This is an early part of the conflict you don't need this high power shit early on Mechs are mean't to be suppourt not walking one man armies that are armed to take out nations. So i can see some of this shit being added when the war escalates.
Are you guys still debating my Mech can do this and that? Heres a little something this rp hasn't yet started for one. So no need to formulate plans and character development unless its your char only, so if you would please stop blowing up chat and either take ur pissing match to pm or don't say anything so when the GM does return he can read CS' without having to wade through a pile of shit.
Okay I'm kinda condused.
Also dark side users don't make very good healers. As force heal requires absolute calm, and when your thoughts go everywhere or your always angry it tends to either work in a weird way, or not at all. I'm not to versed on the dark side though but it's normally based more on emotion than the light side.
