Fairy Tail: Wings & Tails (Rebooted)

Erin Draven

Erin was outside of the guild house tossing crumbs of bread and seeds upon the ground for birds. A smile spreading upon his lips was cast in shadow as the sun was blocked by his deep cowl. From the outside he looked only to be a creepy mage in dark tattered robes, huddled over watching birds at his feet.

He watched happily as the small birds fluttered to the ground and pecked at his offerings. After a few minutes he sat upon the ground and leaned his back against the guild house, placing a few seeds on his shoulder and propping his arm on his knee, his open hand holding the rest. Birds easily jumped into his outstretched hand and shoulder without fear for they knew him regularly and knew he meant them no harm. Even when a stray cat prowled around the corner they didn't move. Erin simply smiled at the cat and held out his free hand, enticing the cat to approach for a gentle petting. It was a good day and Erin smiled for the company of the animals he drew to him.

Personality: Kind and peaceful, though his outward appearance causes those who don't know him to believe otherwise. Very protective of his friends, hard to anger, but when roused, a frightful enemy.

History: Erin's youth was one of happily playing with everyone and everything he could, a child of limitless smiles who always brightened the day for those around him. Always having a kind and gentle soul he was always bringing injured animals to his home, much to his mother's frantic screams of surprise. His father was a wizard or small talent, but always willing to teach Erin what he knew. Erin absorbed the lessons much like a dry sponge in water, and soon surpassed his father's own talents. It wasn't until near the end of Erin's childhood that his innocent view of life was abruptly shattered as he witnessed his parents brutally murdered by a group of bandits who had ambushed them on the road. This is also when Erin discovered the other side of his emotions, when the dust had settled the bandits were little more than stains of red upon the dirt.

Years passed where Erin went from guild to guild, never truly finding his home. When the war struck he join the fray to help protect the innocents from the madness. This eventually placed him between a murderous band of mages and a small undefended town where he earned his title as the Chaos Blade, and the notice of the Wizards of Fiore guild.

Magic: Self named Shadow Blade Magic

Common Spells:
Dark Cutter: Erin slashes the air with his hand, causing his target to be cut the way his hand moves.
Shade Step: Erin steps "through" the shadows to appear in another of his choosing.
Shadow Blade Conjuration: A large pure black sword is pulled from the shadows to be wielded as any other sword. Amplifies the strength of Dark Cutter considerably. Can also nullify weaker spells that come in contact with it.
Shadow Shield: A pure black shield appears in the shape of his choosing to act as either a protective shield or a barrier.

Advanced Spells:
Grand Chaos Summoning: Erin calls forth shadowed doppelgangers of himself wielding shadow blades around his target. The copies have half the strength of Erin himself and attack of their own will once unleashed. The number of copies vary based on the amount of power used in the spell.
Chaos Unleashed: Erin coats his shadow blade in a dark flame before piercing the ground at his feet. This causes the ground to split and unleash numerous trailing balls of shadow magic that will strike out aimlessly at any and all things around the split. This spell is highly dangerous and used only as a last resort as the damage is catastrophic.

Other: Erin is actually quite skilled in bladed combat, though no where near as skilled as most requip mages. Also he has a soft spot for all things animal related.
