Having been on the road for a while, Roark was more than happy to arrive at a fairly sizeable market town on his way to the university at the human capital. On his arrival, however, he very quickly noticed a nervous, restless atmosphere to the place. Deciding to investigate, he soon found himself entering the first decent tavern he'd seen in several days. Settling onto one of the barstools, he spoke to the barkeep, saying "I'll take an ale. Something with a bit o'a kick to it, if you will." While the barkeep grabbed a mug for him, he continued, asking "Now tell me, what's got everyone gears in a jumble? I haven't seen a face in town without seein' someone what was worrying over something big."

"Oh, haven't you heard?" the barkeep responded, setting the mug of ale down in front of Roark. "People are saying that Valenti's escaped!"

"Valenti?" Roark replied. "As in, that necromancer bastard? Isn't his prison supposed to inescapable?"

"Aye, but it would seem that he found a way out, anyway. There is a call going out for brave souls to respond to the possibility of this threat. Judging by your gear, I'd assumed that you were on your way to the capital to respond to the call."

"This is the first I've heard of this particular rumor! I was planning on visiting your capitol anyway, so I may as well look into it while I'm there," Roark replied, then quickly downed his ale. Handing the barkeep a few coins to cover his drink, he thanked him for the news and drink, then left immediately to find faster transport to the human capital.
Climbing down from the cart, he thanked the driver for saving him a couple of days' transport, Roark found himself near a market square. A quick look at the bulletin board showed an announcement calling for people to help investigate an incident at Heaven's Needle, along with information regarding what prospective recruits should do. Following the instructions on the announcement, he showed up at the castle courtyard to find out a bit more about the situation.
"Pleasure to meet you, Jessica," Kris replied, his right glove filling out as though there were a hand in it so he could offer it for a handshake. "I'm Kristof Liebniz, but most people just call me Kris. My skillset covers telepathy, telekinesis, and a fair bit of illusory aptitude." Pulling the nearest chair towards himself, he settled into it, pulling his legs into a crossed position on it as he continued. "As far as my hero alias is concerned, I just go as the Geist. How about the re-"
Suddenly sensing a rather feral intelligence's activity on the roof and wall, he cut himself off, standing to face the window through which a rather large, reptilian creature began to crawl. As the creature slid the window open, Kris got enough of a read on him to realize that he was just hungry, not hostile, so Kris turned back to the group, taking his seat once more as he threw a thought message to the creature, thinking "Hey, armless guy here. I think there's a chicken on the bottom shelf of the fridge, if that's what you're looking for," while he also picked up the conversation where he'd left it off.
"Sorry about that. As I was saying, how about the rest of you?"
Jackie followed his new boss, shifting his bags and equipment around to make sure not to hit anyone as he did. Once they got up to their floor, he got out along with everyone else, following the group as they went down the hall to where their rooms were located. As they passed right next to a staircase, he felt a shiver run down his spine and glanced around, quickly spotting an A/C vent pointed more or less at where he'd been when he got the chill. Satisfied as to the cause, he carried on with the group, arriving shortly at their rooms.
Staying in the background while the conversational exposition carried on once they got there, Jackie mostly occupied himself with keeping his opinions on the absurdity of the entire premise leading them to be at the hotel was made more clear from making themselves apparent in his facial expressions, and maintaining a politely neutral appearance.
As he had followed Molly on the way up to their rooms, he was the nearest to her when she turned to pass off the second room key. Shifting the weight of his equipment, he accepted the key, responding to her question as well. "Well, you seem to have pulled together a nice mix for the crew, so it ought to be interesting, at least," he said as his reply, giving a slight grin.
I'm still good to go on this!
These past couple of days have been pretty busy for me, but I ought to have a post up no later than tomorrow (and may actually be able to put it up some time tonight)!
Yeah, it'd be great to get this going again soon; it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun!
Yeah, I still haven't gotten around to seeing it, either. I'm thinking that I may just end up waiting for it to hit the dollar theater so that I can see it cheaper XD
I've gotten up a reply! :-)

Also, in case my formatting is at all ambiguous, Kris' dialogue is meant to happen after Jessica gives Dani an answer.
Having finished his shake fairly quickly, Kristof turned his attention inward, settling into a meditative state in an attempt to gather his energy back up to at least a somewhat functional level. Tuning out the activity around him, he formed what remained of his mental energy into an internal image of a simple bacterium, then began coaxing that bacteria to begin mitosis. As his imaginary colony of bacteria slowly grew, he felt his energy level gradually returning to normal after a few minutes, so that he could at least perform normal daily tasks without issues.
Opening his eyes as he turned his senses outward once more, Kristof heard Dani offering a woman who felt like a fed break on a new game of pool. Pulling a pair of plain black gloves out of his backpack and putting them into the uppermost pockets of his cargo pants, he stood up and walked over to the pool area to watch the game that was about to start. After hearing the fed's reply as to whether or not she'd break, he spoke up, saying "I'll take next game, if we're still on personal time when this one finishes."
flightless-angel-castiel said So, Soul is the only person who hasn't replied, right? I'd rather not move on without them but I don't wanna wait too long either, you know?

Yeah, that sounds about right.
