Yay! Accepted!!!
…Except it's 1am and I just got home from a 6-hour drive -_-'

I'll have a post up in the 'morrow! Apologies if I hold anyone back by doing so!
I'm gunna be making a 6-hour round trip drive into town today to do my monthly shopping, so I will most likely not have time to get on and check/reply to posts, just to give y'all a heads up. I tend to get back home around 11pm or later, sometimes as late as 3am depending on the day.

If I can get on, I will, but I thought I'd let ya's know just in case ^_^
Excited GM is excited :P
I thought it was a typo when I originally read it :P
At Hex 8,8

Helios was gone.
All of the Gurahl had noticed the flash of red, but it was the disappearance of a major Celestine presence that had caused the most panic amongst the River Keepers. Having lived in such close proximity to the spirits and the Celestine of the Umbra for the majority of their lives, the feeling of their presence was something they had largely taken for granted, but the moment it was gone, they noticed. Sure, the sun still hung in the sky, but his spirit was gone. At first, the Gurahl had frozen in horror, watching the sky, waiting, but what they expected didn't come. The sun never died, it's light and warmth continuing to shine down. It didn't make any sense! Without Helios to sustain it, the sun should have died! There should have been darkness, cold and death!
A gathering was hastily called. Ewch i'r Nala quickly established order through a comination of dominance, logic and respect. Yes, Helios was gone and there was a sun in the sky, but Ewch i'r Nala begged them to focus, to feel. That was not their sun. It was not governed by a Celestial. It was nothing more than a ball of gas, heat and fire.
Ewch then drew the River Keeper Tribe's attention to another matter. Luna was still with them, as was Gaia, but the presence of the latter had greatly diminished. The could all smell the moisture on the air, too, greater than it had been the day before. Scouts were sent in out. Two to scout the woodland, two to scout the Umbra. The news the returned with did not help matters.

The were atop a hexagonal island, surrounded by what seemed like an impossible, freshwater ocean. Other islands were visible in the distance, but apart from that, they were alone. The Umbra scouts were even more shaken. The Umbra was uncharacteristically easy to enter and was almost empty, save for the spirits of the trees, river and animals that had apparently followed them over. Not only that, at the edge of the new island, the Umbra just ended. The ocean they found themselves in had no spirit, no essence. Whenever they attempted to push beyond, they were transported back material world!

There was unease and terror at the prospect. Their caerns were still functional, their Gifts still help potence, but they were alone. The River keepers found themselves turning to Ewch i'r Nala for much needed guidance. After retiring to meditate in the Umbra, hoping to commune with Gaia through one of her minor spirits. Several hours later, Ewch i'r Nala returned.

"We are all aware of what has transpired and we are all equally unsure of what to do. I have meditated in the Umbra and I have communed with Gaia, and what I have learned is this. We are no longer on Earth." The rumblings and discontent through the tribe was to be expected, but Ewch continued on, "But that is not to say that this is not our home. Gaia has been contained to this island, as has the Umbra. This world is strange, without spirit, essence or Celstine, but that does not have to be the case! Gaia has assured me that through the building of caerns on the neighboring isles, her presence as well as the presence of the Umbra can be spread. We now find ourselves in a world with neither Wyrd, Weaver or Wyrm! This place can be a new beginning for us, for Gaia. With our help, Gaia can be reborn here and exist in a peace that was unknowable back home!"

The discontent suddenly turned to elation. No Wyrm? No Wraiths? This could be the world they had always strived for, a world of balance and peace! The tribe found themselves untied in purpose and goal as well as enthusiasm. They would be the cradle of a new world, and through them, Gaia could be reborn. Groups were organised, parties of fifteen were chosen. The neighboring isles were barely a mile away. Swimming to them would be an easy feat for any member of the Gurahl. Fifteen made their way toward Hex 6,7 whilst the other fifteen made their way to Hex 8,6.
Their mission was primarily a scouting one. Once there, if they encountered any danger, they were to retreat and report back, otherwise it was hoped that caerns could be constructed on each isle, linking them with the Gurahl Hex, spreading the presence of Gaia and the Umbra. The remaining thirty Gurahl remained on their home Hex, awaiting the return of the parties, with Ewch i'r Nala meditating in the Umbra periodically and attempting contact home or anyone through their radio tower.
Rainer watched on, half in disbelief, half in awe as Zahira tried to clobber an Imp with her boot. Granted, it was better than the coin the other guy had thrown, and it showed that both Lucian were quite resourceful, but there was still a part of him that wanted to laugh at the absurdity of it all. Rainer never got the chance, however, as 'Tim' was able to dodge under the retaliatory swipe of the Imp and land a counter strike with enough finesse that Rainer, a black-tip preparing for his black belt grading, was impressed!
The defeat of their comrade also seemed to send the other Imps scuttling back to... Wherever they were from, vanishing into thin air. It seemed the conflict was over, until a voice addressed them from behind.

Spinning on his heels and snapping into his forward stance once more, Rainer spun to face what could possibly be a new assailant. He had hoped to knock back the Imp's in such a way to allow them all time to escape, but that wouldn't work so well if they'd been flanked. Facing the newcomer, Rainer was slightly confused. According to the text above his head, he was 'Jin'. Whether that was his name or his class, like the 'Imps' remained to be seen. His text was blue, suggesting he was just like them, but his Level was obscured by question marks.
Rainer found himself thinking back to Quest Givers in MMO's or even the character Elminster from the Baldur's Gate games, a character so powerful and so high level that even using console commands to cheat didn't help!

Eyeing this new stranger cautiously, apparently a "Messenger of Gaia" from his name, although Rainer didn't know what the spiritual personification of the earth had to do with anything, Rainer answered 'Jin's' question with slight, guarded reserve.

"We don't posses any abilities," Rainer said, somewhat truthfully, "It's just a simple matter of self-defence. Some of us have martial arts training, others like to beat things with boots, coins and car keys."

Rainer intentionally withheld the information regarding their 'Gamer' titles. Firstly, he didn't particularly see it as an ability, anyway, since it seemd to be little more than an Augmented Reality HUD right now. Secondly, Rainer's 'Quest' involved finding other Gamers, and Jin didn't seem to be one. There was no telling what was safe to tell him or whether he'd think they were nuts. Sure, it was a bluff, but it all depended on how you worded it, sort of like lying by omission...

...And then 'Tim' blew it, spilling the beans about their Gamer titles.

Rainer studied Jin closely, hoping to gain some insight into the strangers motives or alliance, as well as his reaction to Tim's confession
After reading the IC post and seeing how it would be used, I'm gunna go ahead and say I'm okay with Rainer always performing Free Strikes when he can, too.
Application!!! So hard to think of a game that wouldn't break the RP! Slender? AvP? Superman Returns? [PROTOTYPE]? Animorphs: Shattered Reality? ShadowMan 64? NOPE.
When all else fails, muthafukken Turok.

Image of Character:

Name: Lachlan Hadautân

Nickname: Loch

"Game Master" Title: Pimp Daddy Prime

Gender: Male

Chosen Game Mastery: Turok 2: Seeds of Evil

Preferred Weapon(s)/Power-Up(s): Light Burden. A Satchel that provides access to weaponry, ammuntion, food and currency. For the sake of fairness, the only weapons it can access are those from the Turok 2 arsenal. It is also capable of providing talismans that help in certain situations, such as the Leap of Faith Talisman and the Firewalk Talisman. He can also essentially 'teleport' large distances using Fold Gates, but only if he can see them whilst wearing the Folding Eye.

Background: Lachlan tends try to consider everyone's stance and feeling before his own. He's the kind of guy who just wants everyone to get along and be happy and is usually at his happiest during a multiplayer session or a night of heavy co-op gaming, whether it be a Halo Deathmatch or a mad dash for Evac with friends in Left 4 Dead. People tend to mistake him for a retro games enthusiast, since the newest console he owns is a PS2, but this is mainly because Lachlan is fairly poor and can't afford any other consoles, meaning he has to make the ones he has last.
If he is playing a game that isn't on a console, it will almost always be an emulator or an early 90's-00's game that he got online for a couple of dollars. Regardless, Lachlan still likes keeping up with the latest titles and systems by playing them with friends at their place or gaming parties.

Other: Catchphrase: "Gottcha, bitch!"
