As the evening approached, Roland made a decision to go straight to bed early, but before he did he wanted to write into his journal about the day and what he had experienced before it came to an end. As he grabbed both the journal and the pen out of his top drawer in his room, he walked over towards his mattress and sat down beginning to open up the book and ready to write down his passage. Before he could, he heard a knock and looked to realize he was interrupted by Steven who was getting ready for his shower wearing only a pair of jeans and decided to say a few things at his bedroom door before doing so. “Hey. Getting ready to write again huh? Well my parents just wanted me to come up and tell you that we have some leftovers from dinner earlier so if we want to take that with school with us tomorrow instead of eating the cafeteria food they said to go ahead. Just wanted to let you know.” Roland nodded his head to an understanding as he replied.“Sounds good. All right then I’ll see you in the morning. Good night Steven.” As Steven waved at him for a goodnight and proceeded to his shower, Roland got back to his journal as he thought for a minute what to put down. While thinking, he kept his eraser part of the pencil onto his chin for a quick second trying to think, but then pressed somewhat hard to realize a small sting of pain he felt from earlier, and then he remembered. As the thought of his memory had hit him, he gripped his pencil firmly and pressed it down into an empty page of his journal as he began to write. Roland’s evening summary, Tuesday Another day gone, one that had me face something quite unusual…..or someone in that matter. Where she came from or why she was here only stands as a mystery right now, but it’s one I tend to figure out and solve. Some girl named Avery….some new girl that just came out of nowhere, and….well….I really don’t know how to describe her. She seemed so scared and fragile, yet smart and intelligent as well. I even hurt myself trying to get her to talk to me, and even though she helped me, she still took off wanting me to stay away from her. It doesn’t make any sense, and it’s leaving me confused as to what to do. Maybe I should just leave her alone and let her be. But then again, I don’t let things go so easily. Maybe if I can find someway to help her, then maybe….just maybe I might actually find out more about her. Maybe become her friend or something…..that’s if she wants to be, maybe be her only friend. From the looks of it she seems alone, maybe not, but still. I’m going to try again tomorrow, due to the fact that she left me her treatment pad, so that could be a start. As he closed up his journal, he got up and put it back in his top drawer, flipped off the light, and returned to his bed for a good nights sleep. Before he closed his eyes, he silently said something to himself, then went to sleep. “I’m not giving up. I never give up.”
A few hours later, school had made it’s end as the bell rung and the students made their way out of the classrooms and onto the outside to either the school buses or their vehicles. After the last usage of their lockers were done and over with, Roland and Steven made their way outside and onto the sidewalk as they headed home. While doing so, Steven began to rant about the lessons given to them and an incident that occurred earlier that Roland had missed, but Roland’s mind was on something else. Steven kept talking as Roland kept quiet to himself. “I can’t believe that fight that had broke out at lunch, I mean really, that guy busted that other ones face so bad I thought that guy was gonna cry but instead he just got up and took off and the other guy got busted for fighting, I mean that was some heavy stuff that fight was.” But as Steven kept rambling, the thoughts of Roland kept particularly onto the Avery girl. “About like what happened with that girl earlier, right Roland?” As Steven ask of Roland’s name in terms to agree to what he was saying, Roland couldn’t hear or pay attention well enough to notice. Steven glanced over to see that he wandered off onto to his thoughts as Steven himself yelled to get his attention. “……..ROLAND!!!!” “Hm? Wait, what?” said Roland as he turned his attention to Steven to see what all the fuss was about. Steven then replied to his confusion. “About the fight, the one that happened at lunch. You know, the one you missed?” “Oh. Uhh….yeah….sure…yeah. G-good fight…yeah.” said Roland making a lousy reply. Steven then observed to what emotion Roland’s face was presenting, showing a face of confusion and dismay. Steven then began to look towards the front to watch their path heading home as he started a conversation on a different topic. “Still thinking about her huh?” Roland looked over at Steven knowing to whom he was referring to and replied. (sighs) “Yeah I still am. Man I just can’t figure it out. She tried to run away from me, then when I end up hurting myself, she comes to help me and then tells me not to hang around her or talk to her, but in a nice way. I just can’t figure out why.” After Roland finished, Steven came up with an answer to his problem. “Maybe you are forgetting the fact that…. 1. She is new 2. She dresses poorly, and… 3. She’s not use to our environment, but technically it still counts as new, but then again…..” Roland stopped Steven before he could continue rambling about the situation “Ok, ok. I get it, she ain’t use to our town and school and stuff. I don’t know but I still kind of want to find out what her deal is, even if she doesn’t want to speak to me.” Steven began to shake his head in disagreement as they arrived home, and before they entered, Steven opened the door for them and replied “You are always putting your nose in everyone’s business. You know that right?” And as Roland was entered into their home, he replied to Steven’s statement. “Yeah whatever.”
As Roland laid on the ground in a high amount of hurt, the girl had suddenly noticed his fallen mishap and decided to run to his aid. When she was near him, she then gave him a treatment pad in his hands as leaned up so that he could ease the pain on his face, and said to him in a low tone to press it on his face. He was surprised at first because he thought she was just going to take off and not look back, but instead showed remorse and aided him the best that she could. It was nice of her, even though she acted as if she didn’t want nothing to do with him or cared on what he had to say. As he was groaning in painful discomfort, she said to him that it was not best to speak to her or be near her, and then the school bell rang. As she said goodbye and ran off, Roland watched her leave as he tried to get back up on his own two feet whilst his face started to become less painful and at ease again. He started rubbing his chin to sooth his face, making it less severe as he also noticed in his right hand that he had her compress still. He looked back up to see if she was still in sight so he could give it back to her but she was already gone and out of sight. Just after the bell rang, he decided to make his way back into the school and try to find Steven and tell him of the mishap. While doing so, he kept thinking of the girl and why she acted the way she did. All he really tried to do was be friendly and polite the best way he could, but knowing the fact he kind of scared her didn’t help either way. Heading back to the halls he continued through to find his locker and Steven getting books out of his own. Once he was there, he opened his locker to put some of his books back as Steven asked him a question out of the blue. “Sooooo? How did it go?” When Roland heard his voice, he looked at him to show what had happened to his face as Steven became surprised and wondered what had happened to him. “What in the hell happened to you? Did she hit you or something?” said Steven. Roland then closed his locker and replied “What? No! No she didn’t hit me, she ran away from me.” Steven’s face jolly and full of laughter as he continued in the conversation of what happened. “Oh man really? Now that’s something I had to have seen. I wish I could have been there because that would have been-”Roland interrupt Steven trying to make him stop with his joking. “Ha ha yeah laugh it up all you want. Can we get going now?” Steven tried to clam down from what he thought was funny to what happened to Roland and agreed with him. “All right. All right. You can tell me the story later when school is over. Let’s go then.”
Roland’s sudden out of nowhere appearance made quite a scare on Avery, but her reaction made Roland feel bad about what he did. Because of his actions, she picked up her things that she had dropped and tried to get away from him as quickly as possible, but that wasn’t of his intentions. As she got up to make her leave, excusing herself for conversation, she attempted to get away from him. Roland’s face was of utter regret and but he didn’t want her to run away from him, so he tried to catch up with her. “Hey, wait a minute, I didn‘t mean t-” Before he could finish his exclamation to her, a stump had met with his foot as he fell face first onto the ground. Once down, he laid on his face for a second then tossed over on his back while his face began to feel pain. He pressed his hands onto his chin where the hurtfulness was shooting the most, and laid there as he waited for the pain to stop. He then yelled out loud “Ouch! Dang it!”
A few minutes later, the bell began to ring as it’s intent made the signal that class was over. Roland got up from his desk, curiously eyeing the girl named Avery who without no hesitation sought her way out of class and into the hall where she was starting to become the talk of the school, but in a mean manner. As she was gathering her books and other things from her locker, Roland watched from a distance and observed her behavior as the others surrounding her was talking amongst themselves about her in particular, as other girls made her name and appearance the new big thing giving her the title of dumpster girl. Whilst he stood and watched, Steven came from right behind him and stood next to him as he stared at Avery with him. “She seems pretty strange doesn’t she?” said Steven. “Maybe, but she’s really good at math I’ll give her that.” replied Roland, still very curious as to what the girls intentions were. Suddenly, a look of determination took place onto Roland’s face, as Steven glanced over to look at him and notice that Roland had something he wanted to do. “Uh oh” said Steven continuing with his statement on Roland’s expression. “I know that look. Roland dude you’ve been through this before and I know that look from anywhere and-” Roland quickly turned back to Steven and replied “What are you babbling about?" Roland then began to walk towards his locker, with Steven following behind him as they continued talking. Steven gave a reply “I know how you work. Every time you make that face you’re plotting something in that head of yours and then you tend to do something idiotic and get into stuff that isn’t none of your business. I’m telling you right now I want nothing to do with it.” Roland gave a light smile with a little chuckle to what Steven had said and followed up to his conclusion in the matter. “ I won’t make you tag along with me Steven ok? I just want to see what’s up with her and stuff you know? I’m curious.” As Roland began to walk towards his next destination, Steven sighed shaking his head in disagreement and mumbled to himself “Your always curious.” Lunchtime came around, but Roland was in no hurry to eat as he began to search for the Avery girl, and as he spotted her, she left running out of the cafeteria before he could go up to her and say anything. He carefully followed her afterwards without being seen and once she was found he analyzed what she was doing only to find the girl under a tree with a sketch book in hand. He gazed upon her as she began to write or draw into the book, until her phone went off and he went on a discussion for a minute with someone. Once she was done with the phone conversation, she said to herself that she won’t be able to eat tonight, and that gave an opening for Roland to come out an make himself presentable. He quickly came out of the blue and spoke towards her. “You’re not hungry or something? I mean I can understand skipping lunch but…”
Right after the teacher had walked in, class was in session. He made his normal introduction and stated that their test would be in a couple weeks, so Roland made sure that he was focused and wide awake as he prepared for what lessons was going to be learned. Once the teacher put the mathematical equations on the board, one by one he called on students to try a problem out in front of the class. Once a few did what was told and they took their seat, the teacher called the next name, yet one that was not familiar to Roland. The girl named Avery Jones stood up and made her way to the board, only to finish the problem in seconds and quickly made her way back to her seat as she was told. Surprisingly enough, the girl gave the correct answer and left a good impression, or a least to the teacher. Roland was pretty shocked himself, not only to her greatness in math but the fact that she didn’t seem to be recalled into his memory, so he assumed that she was a new student. When she took her seat, he turned around to look back at her as the other students quietly spoke to each other, then others decided it would be fun to throw crumpled up paper at her as well. But as it all happened, she acted as if she cared less and just shrugged all the negativity off like it was nothing to her. Just then after, a student behind Roland had given him a note that was folded up and had Steven’s name written on the front. Roland looked back at the teacher to make sure he didn’t notice and unfolded the piece of paper to see what it read inside. That was the girl from earlier, the one who I asked if you've seen before? After reading the note, Roland looked back at Steven and mouthed to him without making a sound with his voice with a reply of his message. “We will talk at lunch about it.” He then faced his attention back to the front of the classroom, trying to focus on what the teacher would discuss on the lesson but Roland’s mind wandered off of the subject and instead onto the thought of the new girl in class and how she solved that problem. It intrigued him enough to come to a conclusion of making friends and trying to get to know her…..maybe. After all, he wasn't the best in math, so she could maybe be of some help.
After they made their way into the school, and noticing that they were a little behind schedule than they normally would be, both Roland and his friend Steven continued through the halls until they reached their designated locker in which both of theirs was side by side with each other. Steven didn’t seem too worried about getting his books for class today, but instead decided to lean up against his locker to observe the area and halls where various students socialized with each other, whilst Roland kept busy inside his locker getting out everything he will need for his classes. A few seconds later, Steven noticed an unfamiliar face that he has never seen before, a girl with very rough attire yet looked determined as well while trying to ignore the others among her as they stared at her secretly giggling. Steven then decided to get Roland’s attention by asking him a question. “Say Roland, you’ve even seen that girl around here before?” “……..ROLAND!?” yelled Steven in question. His voice was loud enough to be heard into Roland’s hearing, yet as replied, he still proceeded to gather all his books and other things quickly so he would have everything for school, more worried about being late for class instead. “Nope. Never saw her.” said Roland, without even turning his eyes or face towards the halls to even look as to what Steven was referring to. “Dude you didn’t even look, so how can you even know?” said Steven with an angrily voice. Just as the girl left sight in the halls, Roland looked up at Steven while closing his locker shut. “Because class is going to begin any minute now and I am sure as hell don’t want to be late.” Roland then put his books to his side as he carried them and started making his way towards his first class, with Steven following right beside him.“Plus, knowing you, you might start hitting on her trying to get her number.” Said Roland with a light smile as he began to enter their classroom. Before Steven did so, he stopped for a moment to realize on what Roland said to him and became mad yet again. “HEY! I thought we dropped that subject!” Afterwards he entered into class as well as they both began to take their seats, Roland sitting in the middle of a third row, and Steven sitting two desks behind him.
Roland’s morning summary, Tuesday. I’m awake, yet I really don’t want to be. Sleeping is one of the best luxuries that any human being could ask for, but when you have to wake up early because of an alarm, you’re reminded that it’s another school day and you have to attend and…well….it just drains the fun and comfort of dreaming and relaxation. But no worry will come from me. It’s not like I have any unexpectedness of anything drastic coming for me today. I’m on good terms with everyone…..I think…….so I shouldn't have no problems again today. As he finished his morning writing, Roland closed up his journal and placed it carefully into his backpack. He then zipped his bag up and swung it behind him as he adjusted it to certainty of it being properly placed behind him as he made a walking progress towards school with another male beside him as he joined along.“Done with your diary already this morning huh? Geez….that was about the quickest you've ever been about writing your feelings down in that thing.” As he proceeded walking, Roland turned his attention to him and replied back. “I didn't really have much to go on right now, I mean the day just started and nothing spectacular happened so I just-” He then realized on what his friend said, calling his journal a diary and making him feel feminized in his passion for writing. His face developed an angry look and he made more of a loud tone with his voice as he felt insulted, and began to speak up in his defense. “For the last time it’s not a diary, it’s a personal log for me to write about my experiences. I've told you this a many of times Steven and still you make fun at me about it, besides it’s not like I make fun of you because you can’t seem to get a girlfriend because you have a reputation of being a creep.” His friend Steven now began to come off in anger and replied to what Roland had said to him. “I AM NOT A CREEP! It’s not my fault that none of the chicks at school don’t notice me and all I do is try a conversation….maybe with a little flattering and stuff but I’m not doing that all the time.”The reply that Roland’s friends gave him made him forget his anger, and because of his outburst, made him smile and laugh as he replied to make him calm down and let him know of his intentions. “It’s ok Steven, I didn't mean it ok?” Steven’s face began to fade of hatred, gazing upon Roland’s smile that calmed him down to the extend of not being mad anymore as Roland continued on the conversation. “You’re not a creep, but only if you feel like you are…..or at least becoming one.” Roland gave a light chuckle as he watched Steven’s face became content and calm on what was said. After all was said and done, they faced the direction they were walking to notice that they have arrived at the high school, and Roland made one last statement as they were heading towards the doorway inside. “Come on, let’s see what today has to offer.”
Mine will probably be somewhat long but not too long I'll guarantee if it's fine with you.
All right. I'll go ahead and start up then.
