Reverin nearly lost his spell when he noted the human charge towards him. A fleeting shade of fear went through the mage when he saw the human break his wards...almost. The lightning wards reacted just as they should have, jolting the human back with lethal force. With a loud crackle he fell back from the fence, wisps of smoke trailing from his limp form.

The power of the wards turned the two skeletons following the newly made corpse to dust, the shockwave spreading it to the winds.

One out of three, Reverin thought. Less bodies to waste money on.

The orc managed to crush one of the attacking skeletons under his massive weight, leaving only two standing. Hopefully that would be enough.
Since nobody has anything to express regarding my conduct, on we move!

@El Taco Taco @knighthawk you're up!
I'd like to take this opportunity to have the rest of the players voice anything I need to work on or can improve. I don't like things like this to happen again if I can help it.
I won't be out to get your character after this. That's not how I do roleplays or DM players. I also won't be out to get _you_, but I certainly won't attempt anything interesting or out of the box with you for a while, given the shitstorm that happened right now due to me trying to think outside of the box.

And I don't understand how you're _not_ petty, since everything after that sentence looks like pure, distilled pettiness to me. Perhaps other players will view it differently. In my eyes, you have now earned a marker that I will have to consult every time I attempt to do something in the game, to make sure I don't offend you. It's a shame I have to account for this.

My post has been retracted.
No more jokes with you. I understand.

1) You did not read my post properly:

>I didn't expect you to charge at the mage, and my first reaction was 'this isn't allowed'. Which is when I caught myself on the fact that that would be railroading.

Decribed by first reaction, realized that reaction was not how a DM should react, went on to explain how I adapted instead.

2) I admitted the mistake. By my count, three times.

3) Am I dictating what he does? Being thrown back from the fence seems like a normal reaction to being shocked with a force and lightning ward. And it's one you can ignore.

We have a few options:

Both your and my relevant posts get edited and/or deleted.

We both adapt to what happened and continue the RP as normal, learning from mistakes made.

None of the above: You decide you don't want to accept my apologies, don't want to edit or delete your post, and continue to view everything I do as malice. I'll learn from my mistakes and apply the lessons to further interactions with the rest of the players, sans you.

This discussion, however, is over. I feel I have apologised enough, and I have offered you a set of choices to make.
My IC posts have not been edited after the fact. That much you can see. Neither have my PMs been edited after the fact. OOC posts were edited in response to your own edits, and no essential information has been removed from them.

I took your action and decided to use it in a different way, instead of asking you to retract it. I didn't expect you to charge at the mage, and my first reaction was 'this isn't allowed'. Which is when I caught myself on the fact that that would be railroading. So I wondered why you'd attack the mage (seems obvious), and thought 'what the hell, lets see what comes out of this!' by using your action to have Reverin antagonize Relius. Giving you a reason to dislike the mage would make for some great banter later on. All it would have taken from you is to say 'I'd rather edit my post instead if you *really* didn't agree with me.' Not the rage that has been spilled here, before and after my apologies about not being clear enough.

What's wrong with simply going along with the situation? You've been knocked back from the fence, unharmed from the wards, and can continue to the fight or find a new way to attack Reverin if that's really what you want to do. Why do you want to force that you are correct? You are. I made a mistake by not being clear enough, but instead of retracting it completely I decided to make something of it.

>It's not ignoring, it's refutting that your character has not moved from that last post. Which I pressumed was true because, you did not state othetwise.

I also didn't state he moved beyond the fence, so why presume he did?

And the fact that we are having this conversation instead of me resorting to worse measures should be proof enough that I am not ignoring your opinion.

EDIT: Spelling.
Unfair editing? I'm using a PHONE to type, there's no way I can edit screenshots - the most I can do is draw on it.

We can call up an admin If you so desire, having been an admin of a forum myself I know that your edited posts leave unremovable records of each time you edit. That will more than prove the genuinity of YOUR mistake.

You know what? I've never played dnd 2.0 before but I'm pretty sure you trying
g to cover up your mistake by blaming tbe players (and then trying to take it out on pur chatacters) is not "caring" for our opinions.

But hey If that's how you want to degrade your own thread and utterly ignore us, the players, well ... Two can play at that game.

Explain to me your thought train from me saying:

I think this is what got you confused:

> With barely a mouth gesture he shut up the yapping alarm ward and rose from his seat, walking over to the woman.

And understandably so.

If I wasn't clear in explaining things, my apologies.

To you deciding that I was ignoring you.

I was unsure of why you took the screenshots of my posts, since it appears to me you don't trust me to not edit them after the fact. The intention was not to say you do edit yours...

Apart from that I feel I've explained my motivations well. I'll attempt to be more precise with my placement next time.

Why is this becoming an elephant? You assumed something and made an action based on it, I reacted with few consequences to you(and admitted the mistake on my end), and said I'd try to explain better. What further issue is there?
I'm not sure what's with the screenshots, I don't do unfair editing on my end.

From my original post:

recliner in front of the tower, right across the gate through which any guests would enter, in the middle of a waist high fence circling the tower. The mage placed an alarm ward on the gate and reclined in his comfortable chair, determined to catch another nap before anyone arrived.

I mentioned that the fence circled the tower, and that Reverin placed a ward on the gate and dozed off. Not outside the fence, do we agree?

From Taco's first post:

The simple fence surrounding the tower seemed almost to hum as she approached. Arching a heavy brow, she considered the neatly maintained garden and the man dozing in a chair.

Seems fairly obvious that the garden is inside the fence perimeter, and the first indication of the fence being warded. Taco doesn't mention going inside.

From my response:

An almost invisible shimmer reacted to the staff touching the fence, sending a surge of magical energy through the inanimate object, letting a spellcasting wielder know that there were more than a few magical wards in place should they decide to breach the perimeter.

Second affirmation of wards, and a specific warning that the perimeter is in place.

I think this is what got you confused:

With barely a mouth gesture he shut up the yapping alarm ward and rose from his seat, walking over to the woman.

And understandably so. I would like to note that if it's not mentioned in the post, it didn't happen(As a DM you have to be incredibly precise with what information you give out). Reverin never exited the safety of the fence perimeter(makes sense, no? He's a squishy wizard). Since she was standing at the fence (evidenced by her touching it with the staff) he can easily be next to her and have the fence between them(since it's a waist high fence). That's where he still is, standing next to the fence, on the *inside* of the perimeter.

I'd also like to direct your attention to the following:

He had barely enough time to dispel some of the wards guarding the fence when a burly, half orcish creature named Raa had flown into it. He wouldn't be able to do much anyway, the mage thought. He'd spent a few months preparing the various wards around the tower, and had only dispelled a few of them.

When the paladin flew in, Reverin had to dispel the wards. This, from my POV, evidences that one can't move 'through' the wards.

And last, you will notice that you are not dead or even damaged. I did account for this being a possible mistake, and didn't kill or even lightly wound you for it. If I wasn't clear in explaining things, my apologies. Charging a person you *assume* is standing somewhere seems like a silly idea.

I think this question:

Where is your npc exactly? I pressumed he was standing in the open since he was talking closely to our party's wizard earlier and hadn't moved since.
should be the one asked before you make such an attack.

And I think you can tell how much I care about you as a player by the fact that I pulled a DM fiat to save you from wounds. I'm not here to murder you, I'm here to hopefully give all of you a good time. Please don't attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by a lack of information.
