I think I had Maggie assess the situation pretty well, right?
The Story

You are a hardworking guild member (or leader), and you live in the Guild District in the town of Riventown, trading capital of the continent. It has a nice port with the many merchant Guilds that set up shop to buy and sell with those docking at the Aerodome. There are a few mischievous Guilds planning to steal some of the cargo, with a few security Guilds patroling the Aerodome in an attempt to ward off said bandits. Riventown is also a half day's walk from two other cities that you don't go to, so you can't think of their names. Someone in your Guild mentioned them the other day... Oh, forget it, but they are out there. There's a small mountainous region in the south tip of Riventown, with a mountain range that continues all the way to the southern tip of the continent.

One day, you are going about your Guild's business, when a very large, black cloud starts hovering in the distance. Doesn't seem too odd until it expands, growing larger by the second until every inch of sky you can see is covered by this dark cloud. You run back to the guild to confirm that everyone else saw this happen, and try to figure out what's going on when, all of a sudden, This large, raven-like creature swoops down below the clouds, landing in the middle of the Guild District of town. Someone says the exact opposite of what you're thinking: "Psh, we can take that." Your guild leader doesn't agree or disagree, but quickly, quietly, and solomnly leads a battle party out to the Raven.

Who will you be? The leader that knows what's happening and leading his troops, the cocky kid who is in the front of the pack waiting for action, or will you be left in the Guild House until they return because you're only good for talking? The story will be starting- in FFTA(2) fashion- mid-combat.

The Rules

- Please be kind to everyone in this (while OOC. Play emotions out as needed in IC, but keep character feelings out of OOC posts as much as possible, please)
- No godmodding, powerplaying, and playing past your character's abilities in general. I'll take care of NPCs and enemies.
- If you're going to join someone else's guild, please PM them to make sure the character/class/role you're wanting to add is what the guild-creator wants in his/her guild.
- Please don't disrespect any comments from me or any co-GMs (assuming I get some). My/our word is final, so it'd be nice to be respected.
- Please add any comments in your post if something from here bugs you. Nothing is final yet.

Guild Roles:

Leader - Leads, gives assignments, does paperwork, accepts/declines jobs, chooses who can join, etc.
Duelist - Top pick for 1v1 skirmishes. Descent, but not excellent, in a skirmish.
Tracker - Effective at hunting down and killing monsters. Usually goes on monster hunting quests.
Gatherer - Very perceptive and is first to be sent on missions focused on collecting or retrieving items.
Healer - Your main job is healing and/or buffing your allies. Always advised to have at least one in a skirmish party.
Tank - Tough-skinned individuals with high power who are best for defending a position. Typically sent on escort missions.
Ranger - Excellent at ranged battle, picking and debilitating enemies from long distances, but a bad idea to get in their faces.
Sorcerer - Mage tank, throwing out heavy hitting offensive spells and taking spells like they're a level 1 magic missile.
Debilitator - Your job is to inflict statuses on your opponents, making it harder for them to fight.
Sneaker - A rogue-ish character who avoids a lot of hits, and deals moderate damage, usually having a way of going invisible.
Diplomat - You're a talker who goes and negotiate with other clans and merchants. Also keeps track of Guild money, reporting directly to the Guild Leader.
Diversionary - Just a distraction. Lookie over here, everyone!
Captain - leader of a skirmish party. Guild Leader hands you jobs that your party is assigned and you lead the troops.

After she felt better, Maggie noticed everyone leave, having been yelled at by the girl that came out from the store. Not having heard any of the words the girl who emerged from the store, but noticed the body languages, she thought wow, that girl seems scary. Maybe she's a sort of class bully? I- I should confront her. Nobody deserves to be bullied. With that thought, Maggie 'wished' herself down the building, in close pursuit of the group. They weren't stopping, so it was harder, but she finally caught up to the bully. She grabbed out at the girl's sleeve and turned the bully around to face her.
"Hey. You can't just bully people around to do what you want. You wanna be a bitch to people? Fine, but there's no need to terrorize these kids!" Maggie raised her fists to the bully "C'mon. Let's go. You and me." Her anger for this girl made her shyness go away long enough for her to say this. After her words came out, she realized what she said, and started to get flustered but kept her face stone-cold serious, only changing colors to a redder shade, but not any less angry-looking.

Photina turned to the one calling himself the 'Dread Cultist'. "Nay sir, I would only seek to aid anyone who wishes to regain a place we had in common, yet lost. I would join you. I also wish for my home plane back. I wish no one harm, less they threaten to harm any ally of mine." Photina looked around, checking for hostilities betwixt those gathered tween the stones. Then, focussing intensely, she then remembered an island she knew of that had to be crossed by four miles or so of natural grass-seas, with not but a handful of trees to be seen. It was there that she remembers the call of the birds. After taking a dozen or so seconds to backtrack to the island in memory, Photina summoned four birds to scout in the local area. "These birds will help us see things. They will report back to us and we can find a path to travel on after that." The birds flew in four, seemingly cardinal, directions. Scouting almost a mile in each direction. This summoning truly drained Photina to the point of almost collapsing. With that, she sat down instead. "So what are the names of you all?" the healer politely inquired, adding "I know you now, Sir Mot."

Photina noticed the bolt, but merely flinched. The headache and fatigue was wearing on her reflexes as well. She turned to the caster, noticing the man's intent in speaking, and joined him, saying "aye, dear. If we meant harm, we would have already been inflicting it. I'm a healer anyway. Do you have any wounds needing to be tended to? It would take but a few seconds to conjur the mana needed to heal you. As a show of good faith, I shall greet first. Now," turning so that either 'walker was to either of her sides, and raising her hands in surrender, but remembering an open field where she learned of the Samite people, who were very apt healers, so she could summon one
"I have a healer I can summon. My name is Photina, and I am a travelling healer of sorts. Known in some parts as 'The Kind Stranger'. I'm going to summon my healer now." Lowering herself to the ground, she touched it, creating a circle which contained part of a plain on the ground. One of the Samite people appeared in a shower of light, to which the portal closed.
"Sir, please prevent damage from the lass over there, please." The healer nodded back to her. "He cannot directly heal wounds, but can prevent them. I'm summoning him as a guard for your protection as a benevolent sign." The angelically ascended woman then smiled warmly at the female, with a hint of wariness, purely due to uncertainty.
Maggie awoke to a girl holding a needle to her arm. "AAH!" is all she said before ripping free from the girl holding her arm and scurrying back against the wall. She sees all these faces around her, some facing her, others preoccupied.
Who are all these people? "Who- who are you people!? I don't know any of you. I- I need to go!" Not meaning to say the last sentence out loud, Maggie gets up and wishes to go to the top of the building in front of her, so she closes her eyes, thinking she'll teleport there. In reality, she broke into a hard run, hopping police cars and onto a firetruck that was really close to the building, leapt over to the cooling fan protruding from the building and climbed the large wires leading to the top. Once she opened her eyes, she curled back into a ball, with an eye on all the people down below where she was. Maggie started to cry a little.
I just want to know things. I don't know anything that's happened before two weeks ago... I need answers... Feeling alone and afraid, Maggie hid on the opposite corner of the building's roof, hoping none of the people down there saw her when she had 'reappeared' on the roof.
@Happy Go Lucky Decided to end the battle quickly so you don't have to worry about posting much more. Hope you feel better, man :)
Brennen Garron

Brennen frowned back at the cleric "too tough? I was just trying to minimize casualties. Don't want any needless deaths." Brennen commented as he lit his sword aflame and chucked it at the furthest scarecrow. After pulling out his other short sword, he charges another while charging fire into his off-hand, feigning to the left, but pulling off to the right, faking out the scarecrow and slashing it into pieces and shooting off the fire towards the third scarecrow. Running past the other two, he grabs his other short sword and turns back to where the other two scarecrows are, holding a sword in each hand.
Brennen stops when he sees a pile of ashes in the distance. "Wow, cleric, you can really cause some damage." The last two scarecrows turn to Brennen and start at him. "Come on, ya lumps of firewood. I'll take both of you on." He stands, waiting for the scarecrows to get close enough to him. Once both in range, he strikes at both of them, getting blocked by one. Ooh, feisty. Heh, this might be a little fun he thinks as he reposts to the blocker with a stab at the arm. He has a short back-and-forth with both of scarecrows, and after about 15 seconds of pure Brennen-style joy, he finally believes it's been long enough and finishes them both off with a slice to each of their legs and an overhead cut to each of the connections between the head-sack and the body. Once finished, he returns to the villagers.
"All of you did well and acted bravely. I'd like to thank all of you for helping. You all could make amazing warriors. I'll buy each of you a round at the tavern, if you so choose to drink." Brennen smiles at all of them, then turns to Adrial, giving the cleric a thumbs up after sheathing his weapons.
The Hunter sniffs the air. No scent. Again. The humans that were once abundant for feeding were becoming more scarce. The hive leader called, not aloud, but by mental command. The Hunter knew the signals and where to meet by a thought that was little more than "Come." Hunters from all around were closing in on the alley that the Hunter-Leader resided. Each Hunter was required to bring a piece of meat from a human to the Hunter-Leader as sacrifice. This time, one of the Hunters didn't, as a challenge to the current Hunter-Leader. The Hunter-Leader and its challenger faced off in a battle to the death. It's rare for there to be a Leader being challenged, but this particular day, one particular Hunter was feeling strong.
The two faced off. The Leader lunged first, aiming a blow to the Challenger's head, but the Challenger blocked with its arms crossed over its head. The Challenger counters with two consecutive swipes at the Leader's gut. One of its swipes making contact, the Leader momentarily doubles over from the swipe's piercing of the skin. The Challenger uses the moment to hit the Leader over the head with both fists, and continuously hitting the Leader until it concedes. Noting the plea, the Challenger backs off the now-defeated Leader. The Leader transfers its control, which is an earpiece that has a bug on the end of it, which is the source of the Hive mind. The victorious Challenger inserts the earpiece and is immediately struck by the bug's bite. The ex-Leader now smirks as it sees the new Leader in such pain, where there is the moment of individuality among the Hunters until the bug makes the neurological link between it and the small part of the Hunters' brains that allows for interconnectivity, as though they had Hunter-Brain Wi-Fi. Once the link was made, the new Leader took all the meat that was set for sacrifice, as its right as Leader.
This is the world now. The hunters hunt humans. If there aren't enough humans, they turn on each other. All of the giant-souled beings have moved to Euro-Merica. Land masses have shifted, and bodies of water are in new locations. Many houses are now flooded, while places are newly emerged from the ocean. You need to figure out what's going on. Why the Hunters? Why the giant-souled beings? How? Along with any questions of your own.

This is your world.
