Jezin smiled at the young man's compliment. "Thank you, my lord. Lyoki scale mail. Some of the finest armor in the world." He spoke with pride. Though scale armor might not have been quite as solid as heavy plate armor, it was far easier to maneuver in, without sacrificing much protection. The Lyoki had used scale armor for centuries. The bodyguard smiled again when Noah asked about the length of his service. "Well, I've served as her personal guardian for about five years, before that, though, I was a palace guard, so six or seven if you include that time."

Sophia glanced over at Jezin, wondering how he would react to her decision to stay in Keilaudrin. She imagined he wouldn't be thrilled with the prospect, especially after his disagreements with Thomas. She imagined he would accept her decision though. She'd have to talk to him about it, and try to find Thomas, wherever he'd run off to.
A bright grin crossed Fitch's face when Louis said they were setting out. He took a swig of the rum, before taking the bottle below deck. He returned shortly, and set to work. He wrapped his hands around a nearby rope that ran up to the sails. He pulled on it tightly, feeling the rough rope dig into his calloused hands. The rope tightened the sails against the wind. Fitch smiled up at the sails, admiring his and Rarden's handiwork. He continued about his work, preparing the vessel to sail. He felt a strong excitement building in his stomach. He would finally be able to go out and see the world, to explore the sea. The vessel creaked and dipped amongst the waves. Fitch watched the shoreline getting smaller and smaller in the distance. He took a deep breath of salt air. This was what he had spent his whole life waiting for.
Sophia shook her head. "No, there are three more of us, my bodyguard and two more servants. I'm not certain where they are at the moment." She giggled, but she was genuinely curious what was taking them so long to get back. Surely Thomas' interrogation was over by now. As soon as she spoke, she noticed a glint of brass-colored armor out of the corner of her eye.

Jezin entered the Great Hall, quickly scanning around the room for his charge. He found Sophia and Eva across the hall, talking to a young man he didn't recognize. He strode across the floor, taking a seat at Sophia's side opposite of Eva. "Sorry about that princess, I've returned." The armored man nodded, before glancing across the table. Sophia spoke up. "Welcome back, Jezin." She motioned across the table. "This is Prince Noah, of Cressen." "My lord," Jezin bowed his head slightly to Noah. Sophia smiled, motioning to her companion. "This is my bodyguard, Jezin Tremora."
Fitch rushed towards the docks, one hand holding his bangs from his eyes while he ran. He had slept late. What a way to start a journey. He imagined Louis and Rarden had already made their way to the vessel, and were probably waiting on him to arrive. He made his way out onto the dock, smiling as he noticed the ship still docked. Small though it was, he was proud of the vessel. If nothing else, it would serve as a vehicle onto greater things. The young man's boots clacked against the wooden dock as he rushed onward. He had his father's old whaling harpoon slung over his back by means of a leather strap. The harpoon, though old and rusted, was still sturdy, and thanks to his own efforts with a whetstone, somewhat sharp. A rather large brown bottle was clutched tightly in his right hand, no doubt something strong. He made his way across the gangplank, coming dangerously close to slipping off into the water when he took the turn to board the vessel. He slowed down and made his way onto the deck of the ship, gasping for breath. He waved to Louis and Rarden, and, after regaining his composure, beamed brightly, his scarf flapping about in the wind. "Sorry about that guys, I slept a bit late. But I'm here now, and I brought rum." He raised the bottle in his hand and grinned. No good journey ever happened without a bit of rum.
Name: Reginald Fitch II “Fitch”
Age: 19
Nationality: Dayaman
Race(s): Dorthan

Background:
Biography: Fitch was born as the only son to an eccentric one-armed ex-whaler in a small town in Dayaman. His mother left when he was extremely young, probably due to his father's odd nature and love of drink. For as far back as he could remember, the old man talked of his battles with the monsters of the sea. He spoke of leviathans as large as ships, and krakens that could tear a man limb from limb. He claimed he lost his arm in an encounter with one of these monsters of the deep. The old man's tales instilled a sense of wonder in Fitch, and a desire to one day embark on such adventures himself.
As he grew, he did what he could to help his father, often making meager money catching and selling fish in the local market. His brash attitude and his inherited love of alcohol caused him to get in a number of altercations with other locals, and thus he learned to fight at a young age, though not before he suffered several beatings. Despite, or perhaps because of, his tenacity he made two friends who seemed to share his lust for adventure. The trio hatched a plan to make their dreams a reality, and eventually scrounged up enough money to procure a small vessel. He left most of his belongings, along with a small sum of money, behind with his father, who supported his decision through-and-through. Armed with only the clothes on his back, a bottle of rum, and his father's old whaling harpoon, he set out with his friends for the adventure of a lifetime.

Personality: Fitch is the loose-cannon of the group. He is brash and unapologetic, nearly always allowing his mouth to outrun his brain by leaps and bounds. The young man also has a distinct love for drink, which only seems to amplify his tenacity tenfold. His sharp tongue and caustic sense of humor have landed him in hot water more than a few times, but he seems to enjoy the backlash for his actions, having gained the ability to take quite a bit of punishment from his fight-riddled childhood . His tenacity is offset a bit by his affinity for clumsiness. It seems the young man has been fighting a losing war with gravity since the day he was born. To those willing to overlook his shortcomings, Fitch is a loyal friend and a ceaseless reservoir of entertainment.

Religion: Being rather unlearned, Fitch never really subscribed to any religion, though more out of ignorance than any real belief in either direction.

Appearance:

Clothing: Fitch's clothing is cheap and comfortable. He wears a black button-up shirt, the sleeves of which have been haphazardly cut off, making it into a sort of makeshift vest. He also wears a pair of loosely fitting grey trousers and a thick leather belt. His feet are covered with sturdy boots made of black leather. The boots have a slight heel, making the young man's footsteps almost as loud as his voice. His only notable piece of clothing is a long crimson scarf made of a soft fabric that he almost always wears around his neck. The ends of the scarf are a bit tattered from wear. His father told him it was the only thing his mother left behind for her only son when she left them.

Height: Fitch stands a few inches above six feet tall.

Weight: Fitch weighs in at roughly 180 pounds, making him extremely lanky.

Hair: Fitch has an unkempt mop of fiery red hair that hangs down to his shoulders. His messy bangs tend to fall in front of his eyes regularly, despite his best efforts to control them.

Eyes: Fitch has bright blue eyes.

Tattoos/Markings: Fitch has numerous scars all over his body from a combination of fishing incidents, accidents due to clumsiness, and a plethora of fights throughout his childhood. His face and shoulders are lightly freckled from the sun.
Snakes! Boil'em, Mash'em, Stick'em in a stew!
Sophia smiled, finishing her bread. "Most people outside of Lyok haven't. It often shocks a few people when they visit." She laughed, remembering a few dignitaries being a bit nervous when they arrived in her mother's throne room and saw massive constrictors lounging about. Her smile widened when Noah mentioned visiting. "You should! We're quite hospitable to foreign visitors, especially royalty." She looked around, wondering for a moment where Thomas might be. As long as she could find him before the day's end she imagined all would be well. "I would love to visit Cressen someday, it'd be wonderful to see the snow." She was amazed how much of the world she still hadn't seen. Hopefully in the future she would be able to see more. She looked back towards Noah. "So, did anyone come with you to Mullen? Or are you here alone?" She imagined a prince, especially a young one, would have brought an entourage.
Double post because my internet is 2Gud
"Oh, that was what I was sent for as well." Sophia smiled, but she felt a tugging at her heart. She hadn't really done what she had set out to do. Sure, she had delivered the gift, but that was all, and now she was leaving, without even having a proper conversation with the new king. She mulled over the thought for a moment. What would Keilaudrin think of Lyok if she left? They would likely be viewed as fair weather allies at best, and cowards at worst. Was that really the image she wanted the Empire to have? No, Lyok did not flee. Abandoning her duty would be a betrayal of her new friends in Keilaudrin, few though they might be, as well as her personal duty as a Lyoki and an Octavia. Her small hand curled into a fist. No, she was her mother's daughter. She would not flee because of a few mishaps. She'd need to talk to Thomas again, as quickly as possible, and hopefully catch him in time to rewrite her letter. Jezin would be displeased, but he would stay. Her servants though, were a different matter. Perhaps Thomas' plan could get them away, this was not something they had chosen. She was shaken from her internal musings by Noah's question. He looked quite confused. It wasn't surprising. The Lyoki religion had long been viewed as an oddity by the outside world. The princess smiled and pulled at the golden medallion around her neck, bearing the insignia of the Eternal Serpent, showing it to Noah.

"Well, snakes of all kinds are revered, but we don't particularly worship all of them." She laughed. "We worship the Eternal Serpent, a great creature from beyond the world, a god, in common terms. We believe the Serpent is the mother of all life, and that the Lyoki are protected by it." She watched the boy's eyes. To outsiders, the idea had to sound a bit ludicrous, but the Lyoki wholeheartedly believed in it. "In our oldest legends, they say the Eternal Serpent appeared in the sky to the First Queen. It told her that it would bless her people, and mark her children with the light of the heavens." Sophia tousled the white strand of her hair. "And so it did. The Lyoki were given immunity to the venom of snakes, and the Pale Children ruled Lyok, and the empire that soon expanded from it." Her story didn't take into account that not every generation had a Pale Child, or that some died before they took the throne.
Sophia listened intently as Noah described his home. A look of curiosity crossed her face when Noah mentioned how deep the snow could get. With Lyok's mostly warm climate, she had never really gotten a chance to see snow herself. Even when she visited other countries, the Lyoki had a tendency to make their travels during the summer. They were unaccustomed to the cold. She smile and nodded her head, still nibbling at the loaf of bread. "That sounds beautiful. I'm afraid I've never seen the snow myself." She turned her attention to Noah's question. "Lyok is quite large. I am from the capital, Veranthium, which is surrounded mostly by desert, but the landscape can get quite different depending on where you go. There are rocky hills and mountains to the North, and dense rainforests to the South. It's quite diverse." She smiled. The princess had always been proud of her home. "We trade spices, metals, and gemstones around the world, that's where most of the Empire's money comes from." She tried to think of other things to say without sounding scatterbrained. "Lots of people also visit for the architecture. The Palace in Veranthium is beautiful, and the Ivory Tower is a marvel. They say it's one of the tallest towers in the world. If you ever visit, the Temple of the Snake is also quite a sight." She smiled. "But I digress. What brings you to Mullen, Prince Noah?"
