Bio

I am me. Thats about it.
Roleplay wise, high free through to casual. I like anything non normal. so scifi, apocalyptic, steampunk, fantasy, anything other than day to day humdrum.
I love world building. I am happy to just build a world for a roleplay and let it be populated and used by others.

I am online and offline sporadicly as the mood takes me. so expect irregular responses.

"nice to see everyone's still got a big of an appatite as ususal" Val sighed and grabed one of the larger rolls, ripping chunks off it and stuffing them in to his mouth. "so, I found a few interesting things out today. want me to let you know or should I finish testing them before I tell you guys?" He asked. Looking up at them, still flipping through his notebook with one hand. "Oh, also, anyone know what gobber is up to today?"
stealth dragons are like changewings, however they don't spit acid, as far as I can remember, they have a similar style of fire to a storm cutter. a 'tornado like beam' of flames
Val walked through the main entrance, still scrawling in his notepad, pausing and looking up he smiled "Anyone see that dive?" He asked, skipping introductions and going straight to the single objective that was always on his mind, flying. "also, where's the bread? I'm starving." He said as Nyx buried her head in a bucket of fish. "Also does anyone know what gobber is up to today?" he settled down on one of the numerous boxes used as seats, still just asking open ended questions to the arena as a whole. still writing away in his pad like a crazy person.

Alright, I was unaware the Toxic Nightshade moved at Night Fury levels of speed. It's obvious that you put a ton of work into this. I was just wondering if this was entirely balanced, considering how I interpreted the Toxic Nightshade to be. I considered the Toxic Nightshade to be extremely venomous, while also having considerable defenses, but being of average speed. I'm simply looking out for everyone else, and making sure everything is relatively balanced. :)

Nah, The nightshade is a shadow predator, Lethal to a man? Yes, Fast as hell itself? yes, Tanky? You wish.
If you remember Toothless lost a tail fin, just from a net. Nyx is similarly fragile. She makes up for it with extreme agility and speed. Hence why I chose her as Val's partner, No other dragon could satisfy his insatiable desire for faster, higher, more difficult flight.
I know. I'm doing the maths. Also, as a note; a toxic nightshade is the same (flight skill/speed wise) as a Nightfury. however bigger.
Assuming the standard drag equation of;
Pd = 1/2pv^2CdA.
where PD is drag
P is the mass density of air.
v is velocity reletive to air
A is area facing.
Cd is the drag coefficent

We know that the dragons evolved to fly, so we can assume they have a streamlined body, Thus a coefficient of 0.04 is applicable. The p is the mass density of air is aprox 0.001225 g/cm^3
V is velocity which is Acceleration by time, Acceleration due to gravity is mass Per second. Its a big dragon, so I'm saying 400 to 500kg. considering a fully grown elephant is 2750kg on average, and the weight of horse rangers from 400 to 600 on average. Thats 400m/s acceleration. So yes. A good sized dragon, from high up, I'm only talking 50 to 80km, which we see the dragons flying around in ALL the time. (thats the average cloud level). This is not taking in to account the extra weight of the rider, Nor the adjustments for atmospheric thinning. However, I could only hit Mach 3, at best. assuming standard atmospheric composition, Otherwise I end up outside the Karman line. (which I'm defining as the upper survivable limit, since in this 'verse they can survive fine flying around at cloud height.)

Yay for SCIENCE.

Additional; This is NOT on the flat in a stright line. This is in a dive, a speed dive, uninterrupted from miles in the air. for any situation, other than a straight line race, this is useless. Val is just pushing limits of flight. as per usual for him.
good good. there will be plenty more of this. Also, just because I feel like telling you; Hypnos the draconic spirit of dreams, being killed, mean that dreams no longer exist. and no longer happen. yet everyone is still there.
If anyone's read Johnathan Livingston Seagull, they might see a bit of that in Val. any excuse to fly, and flying above all else is truth.
you can research dragons. Val will research flying! and yes. That is a supersonic dragon. I'm still trying to work out the maximum Mach that Nyx can hit in a full on dive.
Val was far above the academy, he'd gotten bored sitting round once again, and so had gone flying. this time practicing high aerial maneuvers, Up here the air was so thin he could glide for miles. Though that did mean that building up speed was very hard. He'd also noticed it was bloody cold. Though his primary complaint was normal aerial stunts were harder to pull off due to the changed air density, though other stunts, such as a three point inverted loop through 360 degrees, were so easy it was laughable. he had a small notepad in front of him and noted down his observations. While others focused on what each dragon could do. he prefered to find out what you could do in the air. he'd been up there for several hours, now cold, and hungry he grinned. "lets get lunch" he said, tapping Nyx's side and guiding her in to a tight dive, wings almost fully closed, tail only steering. blazing down at breakneck speeds, if Nyx or Val screwed up they'd both be turned in to a spinning ball of broken bone and busted up dragon and viking. As it was they'd done this hundreds of times before. though never from this height, suddenly there was a massive crack, and then silence, no more rushing wind, no more growling dragon, no more flapping paper, Though Val could still see this all, and feel the wind. shrugging he continued guiding Nyx in the dive, screaming over the village and then past the academy, the sonic boom from their motions rattling helmets on stands and shaking anyone who was asleep awake. the water was coming up fast. tapping Nyx with one hand val indicated the turn side. Extending only part of her wing Nyx sent them in to a long sweeping curve, now blasting out across the waters towards the harbour. suddenly sound returned. "WHAT THE HELL?!" Val finally said now that he could hear himself, shooting back up the village, fake stalling at the top of the hill and finally gliding lazily down to the academy Val got off Nyx and took his notebook off her back, flipping to a new page and starting to write up his observations. not quite realising the stir he'd caused.
oh thank god, I was worried I'd scared everyone off with that post!
I think I terrified everyone so badly they don't want to post. good to know I can make ultimate evils that scary!
