They're separate subroutines. The systems aren't connected, so there's no way for it to spread. They're completely separate, no digital communication.

They all feed in to the main system. thats the glory of a feedback loop, it moves up the chain of command, infect the lowest stage and it'll work its way up.

No, you'd need to hack each substation individually. He could have a subsystem for every ten cameras, with one-way encryption that would prevent them from being hacked from the larger subroutines. Furthermore, one would need a connection in the first place to hack the cameras. They'll all be on closed systems, which means someone would have to find the control hub for each substation and connect to it directly.

A feedback loop dosn't work like a hack, we call it a 'brown box' due to the effect, it basicly loops the feed from every second, in addition to all the previous ones. and the thing is, it stacks, so when the first 'stacked' loop gets through, it fixes itself in the next waypoint and loop all that's comeing through, and then on ot the next, and the next, and the next. it works by overloading the system to a critical level.

I've used it on the campus phones to great amusement.

If he's stupid, yes. However, if he has any sense, they're all linked differently, many independant subroutines, with a variety of failsafes. This is a facility for the most dangerous weapons in existence - thinking, breathing weapons of mass destruction. It's going to have heavy security.

So far he's been stupid enough to leave the vents big enough for a lunatic dragon. and give him his gear back (in a few days).
but even if they are linked to independant systems. if you put a feed back loop on one of the substations it'll fry most of them.

Hmm I've been thinking about that, one would assume they all link to a central cable bundle. thus one hub.
