They are both kind of slow, they only have one speed, walk. The civilian one has to turn to shoot moving objects which makes it not as accurate against quick targets. The heavier military ones are a little faster, don't have ski-mode but the cockpit rotates separately from the legs so you can shoot more accurately at moving targets and you can strafe while firing. It also has heavier armor, obviously, and has the straps on the legs so you can store some stuff, the civilian one has more storage space, though, because it has a larger cockpit (I suppose on a mech that style I should call it a platform or something instead) that is also open.

Also, as cool as a mobile garage would be it would be too big. I want to have the command center so that we can have something to carry around spare parts and stuff in but I don't want it to be so big that we can all ride inside and not have to face the danger outside. I was hoping for something similar to this:
Actually, I don't want everyone weak, I want as many people as possible to have allies. Kurt has Spiderbolt, Spiderbolt has both Kurt and Winged Shadow and Hank has Tertia and hopefully he will still have Feraliss and Tyrian after this fight.

But some villains being thrown into the mix would help that happen, so feel free to add some.
((feel free to have Tyrian stop him or let the hit connect, Hank is preparing to swing, he hasn't done it yet though))

Hank McCoy
As hank approached the pool of molten rock surrounding Feraliss he leaped over it, easily clearing the distance and landing on Feraliss' muzzle, square on top of Tyrian. He didn't even seem to notice the wolf under him as he plunged the claws of his left hand and both of his feet into Feraliss' snout to keep himself attached and pulled back his right arm, preparing to strike at the beast's eye with a clawed hand.
GG and I actually have two plots happening at once, one is going down right now and is only in the first couple phases of planning and the other isn't going to start until the first one ends or somewhere near the end of it. There are also a number of sub-plots going on, some I was involved in the conception of, others I wasn't, like Feraliss' rampage, Hank's family being kidnapped, Kurt and Spiderbolt becoming allies, etc. they are all important when it comes to the plots GG and I are setting up as far as I'm concerned since they both, or at least one of them, will require some form of alliance or team to be formed between some heroes. You guys are basically walking yourselves right into our traps *evil laughter*
((Time to break out Hanks anger issues. Part of his mutation, like the original Hank, is that when he becomes enraged he becomes feral and uncontrollable))

Hank McCoy
Hank groans and falls from the wall, landing on a car. The roof of the car collapses around him and he groans again. Hank slowly gets to his feet and climbs down from the car, he doesn't think anything is broken from the impact but it sure as hell hurt. He walked toward Feraliss and as he got closer and the pain faded slightly he growled, his pupils had become slits and his teeth were bared. Hank breathed quickly and tried to calm himself but couldn't do it, he felt himself slipping away for the first time in months and broke out into a run, barreling full speed toward Feraliss' restrained form. Nothing would keep him from his chosen prey now that he was feral.
Sorry it took so long to get back to everyone.

Also, just so I'm clear, this Beast isn't smart like X-Men's Beast?

He's smart, he just doesn't have any formal education. he didn't go to college or even high school.

Oh, yay, another victim! Yippee!Another quick question... Since we're so short on active members, could we possibly think about adding a few short-term characters? Just some random ones that anyone can play as long as they stick to the basic personality and powers. It could add a little more variety.to the story. Maybe when GG gets back from his break? EDIT: I was actually thinking... Maybe I could make a bad guy? I could bring him/her in with the dragon, group Feraliss and Tyrian as a single unit, and play the bad guy on the side? I can handle it.

When it comes to combining Feraliss and Tyrian so you can make another character I don't think I can do that, but if you want to make up an NPC villain that anyone can control then you can and if you ask people not to use him so that only you can then I think they might comply. I put up the two character rule and even though we are low on active members we still have more than some other RPs so I don't think I can break it unless someone drops out.

EDIT: ActRaiserTheReturned, If you want Hank to come to the gauntlet islands you'll have to come get him, he doesn't keep in contact with his family and didn't know he had a son so ther disappearance would go unnoticed.
The flamethrowers we will need will probably have to be handheld for defense against very small but very dangerous enemies and later we will need ones for the mechs we scrounge up. (by the end the only people who won't have mechs are the people who don't want one)

At first we won't have spider-mechs we will have one or two of these or these because they are cheap (the second is way cheaper than the first because it's a civilian model that was modified for military use and I know they were taken straight out of Lost Planet but they were the kind of mechs I was looking for to be cheap and easy to build and maintain) and the project to send so many people to such a distant planet put a huge drain on the entire world's economy and they can't afford to send the team with anything more expensive. We will also have a mobile command unit (MCU) that has been modified to, instead of carry passengers, carry water, food and extra fuel as well as any spare parts, ammo or weapons we might find or build. I'm still looking for a picture for the MCU but I know that it will be about the size of a paneled van and have tank treads so that it can move easily through sand.

When it comes to spider-mechs they will usually be heavier (which is why they have 4 legs, because they're too heavy to be supported by 2) but lighter ones could be found as high-mobility units with jumping capabilities.

Your character can have any odd things about them you want, as long as it isn't something that would prevent them from military service. As an engineer you can build anything you can find parts for, which won't be hard in the beginning but as the story goes on mechanical parts and things will be harder to find so stock up on parts you may need early on.

EDIT: Okay, found a few potential MCUs. Tell me what you guys think.
Yeah, an engineer would probably be required to be able to pilot one. And even if they weren't required to pilot one they would probably know how to anyway because they can build them in their sleep so they already know what everything does.

Just be warned, we will need a flamethrower, even if its just an improvised one, at some point in the story so be ready to build one at a moments notice if you're our engineer.
Yeah, a lot like LP 3. The mechs I'll be using will mainly be like a flat platform with legs alot like this one but the military ones will be more like this or this

We could certainly use an engineer. I was thinking of only having one or two mechs available in the beginning and as the RP goes on some other people may end up finding a salvageable one that they can claim as theirs and use and they may find more powerful ones that they can trade up for.
Since I've gotten enough people who seem interested I've started writing up the OOC post and I'm trying to get things organized so that I can put up the thread in the next day or two.
