Stardust Vale Pack – Pantalaimon

Pan kept his head low to the ground as he trotted through the trees, he stayed in quiet contemplation for a long time. The cold wind brushed over his dark pelt, he ran his tongue along the side of his muzzle as he moved the coppery taste of dried blood sticking to his tongue as he retracted it back into his mouth. He had a wound across the bridge of his muzzle, his dark coloration hid it well but the smell was unmistakable, his eyes flicked around their surroundings taking in the thick woodland around them, the smell of pine filled his nose as they moved he studied the tree trunks as they passed them, noting claw marks on a few of them he couldn’t decipher who the indentations were caused by. However he was sure they were headed in the right direction, his blue sky blue eyes switched to scan the snow covered floor, he hopped over a small mound stress lines appeared along the bridge of his muzzle his tongue lolling out of his mouth as he panted. Feeling the wound on his muzzle stretch uncomfortably.

He looked sidelong at Sequoia his ear swiveling around to rest on her as she spoke, his other ear continued to flicker in an arc around his head trying to catch every sound it could, the scratch of tiny claws skittering across the bark of a fallen branch, the lonely chirp of a bird flapping loudly above their heads. His tail flicked behind him as he trotted forward his eyes returning to Sequoia once she had finished talking, he felt unease rise through him at her words as she pretty much solidified his worry. “Thank you for reminding me...” He grumbled at her, his ears flicking back momentarily. “I’ll tell you the only thing that can come of this meeting, an alliance” He told her, his voice piercing the silence that seemed to surround them. He looked away from her again, his eyes narrowing as he felt pressure build in his face. “I don’t know” He admitted to her falling silent, as his mind tried to wrap itself around the idea. He had to do this, he had to make this happen for everyone’s sake. His thoughts were dark and confusing, it affected his facial expression his dark and face creased with worry.

He blinked as he felt something bump against his side, looking up as he had been brought out of a trance he pricked his ears towards Sequoia, taking in her playful expression. He was taken aback by her words as she shot off in front of him. “Wait, what?!” keeping Sequoia within his sights as his paws dug into the snow propelling him forward, his pelt glistened in the scattered light that filtered through the trees as he sprinted after her. The thrill of the chase momentarily pushed all thoughts from his mind, as the wind whistled through his pelt ruffling the dark colored fur, his mouth opened as he gulped in the crisp winter air, his muscles leaping into life as he chased after Sequoia, ears flicking back as the wind whistled past them. His eyes alight with joy as he shortened the distance between them, completely losing sight of their objective the seriousness of their situation. He playfully nudged Sequoia’s hind quarters as he closed in on her, pulling up next to her as he leapt over a tree stump. The world around them a blue of movement as their feet pounded against the snow, breath escaping him in rattled pants he was born to run.

Stardust Vale Pack- Wolf Bane

Bane’s ears flicked to the side resting on Rose as she approached him, he looked at her briefly before grumbling in his throat and looking away. “Fine” He muttered, not meaning to seem hostile but he was wound so tight he couldn’t help it. His ears dropped a little as she licked his cheek affectionately, he relaxed his stance a little still watching the horizon he flicked his ears back at what Rose said, his muzzle wrinkling as he looked back at her. “No, I’m fine treat yourself first” Bane grunted looking at the sad eyes she was pulling Those eyes... His muzzle twitched more and he turned away with a grumble so he didn’t have to see those sad eyes...With a forced sigh Bane sat back on his haunches, turning her side to her as if in permission. “Cheater...” He grumbled at her, one ear flicking to the side and focusing on her. “Are you ok?” He asked Rose after a few moments of silence. Such a simple question yet from the way he said it, it held a lot more depth he was ashamed to admit he didn’t know how well his pack was taking all of this...his pack...He looked at Tarkutt approvingly before turning his head away to scan the surrounding area again.

Crash

Lion jumped violently as Kiwi appeared in front of Kathy, his mane fluffing as she pointed a strange contraption at his new human friend. He grumbled at the nurse, ears flicking out to the side uncertainly he had no idea what was going on here...he sat down next to Kathy, an occasional grumble vibrating through his chest.

“Not psychopathic ones” Crash murmured under his breath, he was just about to say something in answer to Kathy’s comment when he heard her yelp out his immediate reaction was to ping over to the door, however as he hastily took a step forward he skidded to a halt his eyes falling on the back of Kiwi’s head, he took a step back looking up at the ceiling his stomach somersaulting. Holy crabsticks! Did she hear all of that? He swallowed a lump in his throat, stepping back from Kiwi. Crash grimaced at Kiwi’s invitation to Kathy, he opened his mouth to speak as the nurse raised her needle to Kathy’s neck, his words caught in his throat however as Kiwi turned her gaze on him.

"You better give me a damn good reason why I shouldn't stab you in the testicles right now."

Out of pure reflex Crash’s hands shot to the bridge of his pants cupping in front of them as if that could save him from Kiwi’s wrath, he grimaced a second time, the color visibly draining from his face as she turned her head to the point it cracked, her eyes a swirl of craziness by this point. “N-now lets not be hasty!” Crash stuttered again. “I’m sorry about stealing your patient last night, I thought I was being helpful...you must have had so much to do” He told Kiwi, trying really hard not to throw himself out the window. He couldn’t help it, this woman literally scared crap out of him and she was acting like a spider. This could only get worse if insects were involved...”And I’m not helping this girl...” He started. “Well I am but I’m helping her by bringing her to you” He frowned at himself. Has my ability to form rational words escaped me... “I’m sorry” He apologized, eyes grazing the needle still pointed at Kathy.

He bit his lip as Kathy attempted to appeal to Kiwi. Whatever gods are up there, please let this work... Crash nodded in encouragement if Kiwi was still looking at him, however Kathy’s compromise made him stop. As soon as Kiwi looked away he ran a hand across his throat in a ‘cut’ motion and shook his head at Kathy as if that would stop her from finishing her sentence. He returned his hand to its protective placing if Kiwi turned back towards him. “Kathy’s right...” His jaw tightened a bit at that comment. “This girl really needs your help; she just kind of passed out back at the library...you’re the expert physician around here. Can you help her?” Crash backed Kathy up deliberately leaving out the idea of them even being treated. I should have gone out the window...

Little Feather

Little Feather had well and truly deflated by now she’d been stood like a lemon in front of the large group for quite a few minutes now, the angry looking boy had completely blanked her as had his female companion. The guys sat on the bench were busily talking, she daren’t go over and disturb them now...She turned away from the group. If Lion was here they may have heard me...then again they would have been more interested in him. She watched her feet as she walked across the grass. Never mind aye, they’ll be other times to talk to people! Maybe when they’re not so busy! Yeah, what was I thinking She took a deep breath and lifted her head, her eyes landing on Kenshi. She instinctively gripped the paper in her hand harder, testing it was still ni her grip. She skipped over to him, a smile on her face. “Kenshi!” She called, landing in front of him. “Glad I found you! You left this in the library” Little Feather explained holding out the paper to him.

Crash

Lion hummed as he was patted on the head, he flicked his tail looking around curiously as he followed Kathy and Crash his ears moving round in an arc as he walked taking in as much sound as he could, searching for just a hint of where Little Feather had gone. The stress lines on his nose became more prominent as he opened his mouth and begun panting quietly. He pricked his ears towards Kathy, a purr rumbling through his chest at her words his tail wagged behind him. He turned to Crash and gave him a stern look, grumbling at him. Crash looked at Kathy with a raised eyebrow, at the look she gave him he shrugged his shoulders ever so slightly. Crash frowned as he listened to Kathy explain what had happened to the girl, it was indeed strange. He grinned sheepishly at the taps to his shoulder, following her as she set off down the hall. Crash was trying really hard to focus on what he was doing, he’d fallen on his ass so many times today he was a little worried he’d mess up again, thus his facial expression was a picture of concentration as he walked breathing audibly as he moved down the corridors.

Looking down at Lion as he grumbled at him. “What? I’m going as fast as I can” He told the lion, poking his tongue out childishly at it when it grumbled at him again. He blinked at Kathy as she looked at him, he still had his tongue out, he retracted it quickly biting his lip as he grinned unable to rub the back of his neck. He shifted the girl in his arms, looking at Kathy on and off as he walked, trying to stay aware of his surroundings and listen intently at the same time. ...I need to stop thinking... his mind had drifted back to the library...He felt a peculiar warmth rinse through his chest as his heartbeat sped up, his fingertips were even tingling...delayed reaction maybe. He'd felt it at the time, but it had happened to fast...Luckily Kathy turned back to speak to him after a few moments pulling him back to the present “OK I’m game for that” He grinned at her. “Why do you need a self-esteem boost?” He asked, frowning momentarily apparently unaware of how direct he was being...yet again. He stood back as she peeked inside, his mind’s eye playing him a picture of kiwi sensing them there and throwing the door open dragging them inside. He involuntarily shivered at the idea and felt an uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach as he shifted the girl in his arms a second time, he was starting to feel the strain on his arm muscles now, too much in one day. He looked down the corridor for a moment, noting there was no other doors close by the infirmary. I’d hate to think what happens in there...

His eyes drifted back to Kathy as she turned back around opening the door and waving them in excusing herself from entering by mentioning her wounded hand. He didn’t move at first, in his mind’s eye there were still images of Kiwi’s victims and that horribly long needle, his eyes dropped to rest on Kathy’s hand then moved back up to her face. “Y-you want me t-to go in there alone?” Crash stuttered, shaking his head and clearing his throat gathering his thoughts looking down at the girl in his arms with a frown. He edged closer to the door, peering inside cautiously the coast did look clear...but he didn’t trust it. He looked at the nearest empty bed; it was still two steps further into the infirmary than he wanted to go. Lion butted Crash with his head; a deep rumble vibrating through his chest, Crash resisted him though he did take a deep breath. “Promise me, you’ll keep this door open and I’ll do it...bear in mind if I get caught, I am not above dragging you down with me” Crash spoke to Kathy a cheeky smile on his face. Ok for the sake of this poor girl...come on Crash you can do it

He looked to be mentally preparing himself before he took a very hesitant step forward his foot passing the threshold of the infirmary, in his mind Kiwi had probably perked up sensing someone enter her domain. He moved swiftly over to the vacant hospital bed, his stomach churning as he carefully laid the blonde haired girl down on the bed, stepping back he turned so he could bolt if he needed to, he looked like a deer stuck in headlights. Maybe I should have written a note...no! That would have been insensitive...still if she doesn’t come straight away it would be plausible... Lion shook his head as he watched Crash stand like a coiled spring just inside the infirmary, he had no idea what was wrong with the red haired man, though the initial amusement had calmed him.
Stardust Vale Pack - Pantalaimon and Wolf Bane

5 hours after losing the Homeland

Bane’s ears flickered in different directions as he studied the frozen wasteland before him, his breath clouded in front of his face as he breathed in the sharp fresh air. He padded forward uncertainly the crispy ground crunched under his pads; he lowered his head moving over to a section of disturbed earth. He lowered his nose to the ground inhaling the scents around the tracks carefully blowing the air back out of the slits on the sides of his nose so he didn’t disturb the tracks. “What’s the verdict?” Pan’s voice filtered to Bane’s ears. Bane lifted his head and turned to look at the dark pelted wolf stood behind him, his nose wrinkled as he thought about what they had been forced to do. “We have no choice” He growled, his ears pinning back against his head lip rising in a snarl. “You and one other must go to this pack” Bane grumbled, turning back to Pan and walking over to him, his hackles raised his body language reflecting his irritation. “You must get them to accept us into their territory by any means possible” Bane told Pan staring the other in the eye.

Pan lowered his head maintaining eye contact for a mere second before dropping his gaze. “It will be done, I won’t let you down” Pan assured him. Bane relaxed his stance slightly; though he was obviously tense he nodded at Pan and turned away from the young wolf. His eyes returning to the area around them looking for any signs of movement.

Pan turned to the remaining members of the Stardust Vale pack, they would grouped around a fallen tree a couple of metres away from him. He focused his crystal blue eyes on them, trotting towards them. He looked at each wolf in turn...now there were choices to be made, who did he take with him. “Sequoia I need you to come with me to meet with this pack” Pan said matter of factly. “Rose, Tarkutt and Snow you stay here with Bane keep an eye out for any others that come this way” He instructed Rose, Tarkutt and Snow. He turned away from the group, expecting Sequoia to follow him as he slunk between thick tree trunks, heading in the direction of the opposing pack.

Bane had come a little closer to the group by now, he was also wounded from the battle, he had a few lacerations on his flank though the blood had already begun to congeal, he was giving off a particularly hostile signal at the current moment his eyes firmly focused on inspecting the land in front of them. He was clearly frustrated at how desperate and vulnerable they were, he looked at the remaining members of his pack. “Is everyone OK? Now would be the time to tend to your injuries. Who knows what this pack is going to do” Bane grumbled. “Keep your eyes open we have to be prepared” Bane added, his tail swishing once behind him.
