Current Been a while, but I'm back. Just moved and no social life in the new place yet so I'll probably be around a lot.

My cat has been found guilty of laptopicide, using my very own jar of ice water as a murder weapon. I'll be back as soon as I can. At most, I'm looking at about a month with no personal computer.

I'm a big fan of Jim Butcher's writing, and love the Codex Alera series in particular. I want to do an RP in this world, so I figured I'd test the waters, see how many people knew what the hell I'm talking about here. I don't have a plot as of yet but would love to chat and develop one if anyone's interested. I just want to be sure I'm not the only one with knowledge of the world before we get into it, both so I know someone will be there to check my knowledge and to avoid explaining the basis of a several book series. Drop a post if you're interested or have some ideas. If you have no idea what Codex Alera is, the books are a great swords-and-sorcery fantasy series I highly recommend.
Looks like it could be fun to me.
This looks interesting. I'm in.
Traben took his time with the horse, leading it over to a tree near the wagon. Securing it there, he was sure it would find plenty of fresh grass for grazing and shelter from the tree should any rogue storms form. Knowing his wolves would not follow him into the building, he could also be fairly sure neither the horse or the wagon would be disturbed.

"Shall we go on in then?" he asks, turning to Cassandra. "I wasn't kidding about that meal, I was hunting when I came across the caravan, so I haven't eaten yet." Without really waiting for her answer he heads for the entrance, flashing a bright smile at the nymphs. He had stayed at this inn before, but did not know it well enough to have found it on his own from the kingsroad. The women here all knew him by name, though he hadn't been by in at least three years.
Look out, Traben might enjoy that a little overmuch. She is evil, after all (not that he knows that).
Alright, thanks. I'll edit my post.
Thomas winces as Liza's voice trailed off, knowing now that he shouldn't have brought it up. People hadn't exactly been kind to him, but she had probably gotten the worst of it. Most people looked at her like she was the worst person in the building, which he found to be rather unlikely. Few people ever deserved the reputation they had, and even fewer ever tried to fix it.

"Sorry, I should pay more attention to what I say. And yeah, there's nothing really to do about it. It just puts me on edge. I go from being invisible one week to the spotlight the next. Just doesn't sit right." His hands move to his pockets as his shoulders slump a little more. "Sorry," he says again, little more than a whisper. "I should probably just leave you to your lunch."
Traben takes a moment to study the Treant with sharp eyes before glancing to the nymphs, Cassandra, and finally his wolves. He hadn't been quite this far North in a long time, but nothing ever seemed to change. Slipping one arm under Assallya's knees and the other beneath her shoulders, he lifts her gently and deposits her into the Teant's care. Once assured she was secure there, he swung himself down over the side of the vardo wagon, landing nimbly and bending his knees to absorb the impact.

"I'll take care of the horse before I come in. I wouldn't mind finding a hot meal waiting for me," he mentions to the nymphs with a smile and a wink as he starts releasing the beast of burden from its bindings. His wolves had rushed to stay at his ankles when he hit the ground, but the horse did not seem spooked by them with the ranger near.
I don't recall if/when it was mentioned how many horses pulled the wagon, so I'm gonna assume two for now. I'll edit the post if it's wrong.
Thomas wasn't sure what he was expecting, but a bagged lunch to the face was not very high on the list. he jerked his head back, far from in time, momentarily stunned by the reaction. His cheek burned more with a slight blush than pain, and he raised a hand to cover it, but was beaten to the proverbial punch by Liza.

"My face will be fine," he says, pushing off the locker to follow her, "and nobody seems to know why. Everyone assumes one or all of us is responsible for... what happened. I just wish she had given us more information. Or, y'know, stuck around a bit longer." As much as Thomas was typically reserved, he found it nice that Liza seemed so easy to talk to. It probably helped that he had only conversed at length with himself over the past several days.

"I just wish people would try to figure out the facts before jumping to conclusions. You should hear some of the things people say about us when they think nobody's around to listen," though I suppose you've probably gotten most of it thrown in your face, he added to himself, trying to remain tactful. If he was going to talk to Liza, he certainly didn't want to come across as one of the rest who just knew her for her reputation. Not that she knew any more about him than he let everyone else know. Whatever, at least she talks to me, Thomas thought, deciding that the conversation would certainly be more interesting than his afternoon English class, which he'd already done all the work for anyway.
