Current Been a while, but I'm back. Just moved and no social life in the new place yet so I'll probably be around a lot.

My cat has been found guilty of laptopicide, using my very own jar of ice water as a murder weapon. I'll be back as soon as I can. At most, I'm looking at about a month with no personal computer.

I'm gonna bump this once for now. I'm looking for something particularly interesting and captivating, so please don't feel bad if I turn you down.
As the last newcomer came off the boat, Noah knew who he would be avoiding for a while. Irritation poured off the stranger in waves, forcing him to grit his teeth and close his eyes tight to keep his focus. All the other emotions were drowned out like whispered conversations at a rock concert. Nothing good was going to happen if he stayed close, and Noah opened his eyes to look for an escape route. Before he found one, however, all he saw was Caroline pulling the stranger aside, leaving him to tend to the other newbies.

"Excellent," he muttered under his breath, visibly relaxing as the two left. He himself was slightly irritated to have been left with the other newcomers, but with James out of the way he might actually be able to handle himself. "Alright, Caroline basically told you everything you need to know, I guess. All that's really left is to show you to the dorms and turn you loose to explore or sleep or whatever it is you feel like doing. if you have any questions for me, you can ask them while we walk. Make sure you've got all your stuff, and let's go." Looking over the others with a cursory glance, he turned on his heel and started towards the center of the island. The sooner he was done with them, the sooner he could retreat to his own secluded home. That is, if he didn't get drawn into conversation with one of the newbies or any other such terrible event.
Biting into his own muffin, Noah looked over the newbies slowly. All in all, it looked like an interesting group. After a few moments of closer inspection, one of the new girls gave him reason to pause. It was hard to tell in the group, but it seemed like he could sense two very different emotions coming from her. She was clearly excited as she squealed and re-enacted the slow motion fall, but he could swear that he sensed something under that, something bored and ashamed. It wasn't the same feeling he got from a repressed emotion either.

Noah wasn't so forward as to approach the newcomer, but his eyes remained on her in a vacant, if not disinterested stare. He would have to find her later, when she was alone, if he was going to talk to her. Besides, he hated talking in front of an audience, especially one that couldn't hide it's boredom from him.
Thomas rolled his eyes as Liza chuckled, not really able to take the mention of others on the list dying seriously. If that was going to happen, it was very unlikely he or anyone else could do anything about it. Taking a chip as an excuse to pause in thought again, biting into it and taking note of Liza's expression. It's not exactly a laughing matter, but everyone copes in different ways I suppose. Only have to look at myself for evidence of that, I probably wouldn't be talking to Liza if Sierra was still around. Not that there's anything wrong with her.

"If the killer isn't on the list, it's most likely meant to be a warning. Or a sick joke, though I doubt anyone would have the presence of mind to pull a prank like that if they were about to die. For that matter, why would she make a list as a warning without explaining the reason for it? I mean, what exactly are we supposed to look out for?" he asked, his tone more conversational than serious. He wasn't going to make light of the situation, but he couldn't help a casual curiosity about the meaning of that list.

"At least the cops won't have to try very hard to draw up a suspect list, she basically told them who to look for. Makes me wonder if they're even considering anyone not on the last as a possible suspect. I wouldn't, to begin with. Not until I had a reason to. Then again, I'm no detective. They'll find out who did it, or they won't. In the end it won't bring her back."

Thomas shifted in his seat while considering his own words, laying one leg across the opposite knee. It was only a matter of time before the police decided to interview everyone on the list, that was for sure, but it still made him a little anxious. "Whatever will be, will be. Nothing we do now is going to change that, so we might as well just wait it out and hope her killer is brought to justice."
I apologize for stringing you all along, but I don't think this is going to be possible. Every time I attempt to take the time to start writing, I end up with more work and more situations that require my attention. As much as I want to do this, the world seems to be conspiring against me and I simply don't have the time. Perhaps I'll try this again when things are more settled.
This still happening?
It's still happening, I've just been busy with IRL stuff. I'll try to have the OOC up sometime tonight or tomorrow.
Taking the muffin, Noah stood up, stretching his back as the boat arrived. The emotions felt like a constant pressure around the entirety of his skull, barely held at bay by his will. As long as nobody touched him, he would likely be fine. Several of the new arrivals had started talking right away, and Noah perceived everything they said as slightly muted due to his music. Standing back slightly from Caroline to avoid being too close tot he others, he looked over the new face. Even as he did, one changed from masculine to feminine, causing him to raise an eyebrow.

The expression didn't hold long as another girl started sobbing and her embarrassed anguish washed over him. He grimaced at her for a moment then shook his head slightly. If all the newbies were going to be like this, he certainly wasn't going to be able to stay.
Noah sat quietly at the end of the dock, legs hanging down near the water. Staring out over the water, he listened to the waves. The headphones that usually covered his ears rested around his neck, and dark circles denoted another sleepless night. Night and early morning were times of peace for Noah, for only when asleep or unconscious did the torrent of emotions every human felt fall silent. The sun was rising, though, and that time would be over.

Anticipation. Excitement. Worry. The emotions hit him like a brick to the back of the head, and Noah suddenly pulled his headphones over his ears. The boat was coming, and Caroline was coming to meet it. If he didn't leave soon, the emotions would build to an almost painful level. But he had been instructed to attend the introductions, both as a test of his control and an attempt to get him to socialize more.

"Good morning, Caroline," Noah says without turning his head as the gentle tones of a harp began to fill his ears and the press of the emotions receded somewhat. "The boat should be here soon. I can feel them coming."
No need to call anything, but sure. I myself will be using water and earth.
