Having shot Rithrynn a filthy glare, the glower abated a little as Liaena considered what the elf was saying. “…Maybe. That could work. The whole place is probably warded, with alarms though, and all sorts of things. There’s more than enough mages in this city that could set one up, if you don’t mind paying for it”

Purely from habit than anything else, a brief scowl was aimed at Sharon as that last remark. Liaena sat forward in her chair as she looked back at Rithrynn. “And there’s more than just humans in there. They have a huge man in armour, and he didn’t even flinch when Doin battered an axe through his chestplate. I think he’s –“

“Define ‘huge’?”

“…..”

Liaena gave Rithrynn a long, suspicious glare as she tried to figure out whether the comment was intended as a slur. “….Huge. For a human. Okay?”

“That’s not huge, Li”

“....Fine! Whatever. That thing was Undead, I can feel it” Liaena snapped back. Drumming her fingers on the arm of the armchair, her eyes widened as something else occurred to her. “The Red Vanguard. They’d help us with this. They’re fighting the White Hand, same as us, and if I showed them this…“

Picking up the diary, Liaena stared at the cover for a long, thoughtful moment. Turning it back around, she showed the front to Sharon as she raised her brows questioningly at him. “This diary. How much trouble do you think we could make for the White Hand if I went public with this?”
“If their interrogation skills are anything like yours Li, I don’t think she’s going to last very long!”

Liaena shot Rithrynn a distinctly ‘why did you have to say that?’ black look at that remark while tugging at the door to the room. Realising belatedly she had locked herself in with Rithrynn, she fumbled for the key in her pocket. Finally pulling the door open, she shot off down the corridor towards Sharon’s study, the Night Elf following behind her at a much more sedate pace.

Sharon had once again retreated to his study to escape from the constant partying of the Elves downstairs. Apparently taking the opportunity to do some paperwork, he glanced up in surprise to lay down his quill and parchment as Liaena barged in without knocking. “Li? Are you alright? How…how is Rithrynn?”

“She’s fine, she’s fine. That’s not important right now”

Liaena said hastily, waving away Sharon’s initial concerns. The statement was clearly at odds with what the High Elf was expecting to get out of the conversation, as he raised an elegantly curved long eyebrow at her. “….really?”

“Well no. Yes. Obviously, it is important” the girl said in frustration. Rocking back and forth on her heels in agitation, she fell once again to stalking around the room as Sharon watched her warily. “She went on a date with him to get information, which is really retarded but she seems to be okay – but there’s something else I wanted to tell you about. Last night a nobleman was murdered and some people asked me to go and solve the murder but I was really busy so I sent someone else to go and solve the murder instead and she hasn’t got back yet and I got this book back instead and I think something mighthavehappenedtoher!”

“What?”

“…..”

Wheeling around to glare at Sharon, Liaena looked for a moment as if she was about to start shouting as Rithrynn nosed her way warily into the room, before slumping her shoulders instead as she let out a defeated sigh.

“Lord Alficious. He was murdered last night. I thought it was suspicious, so I got someone I know to go and investigate for me. Just now, Hester brought me this”

Holding the diary up, Liaena waggled it in one hand before tossing it onto Sharons desk. Falling into the chair that sat in front of the High Elfs desk, her words were now somewhat muffled as she covered her forhead with one hand. “Look in the back. It’s full of all sorts of illegal, incriminating crap that Lord Alficious wanted to investigate the White Hand for. And a note, asking for help and she says she’s at Honour Point”

Falling silent for a moment to brood, Liaena glanced away to stare at a corner of the room vacantly, before giving Sharon an appealing look. “If she’s in trouble, then I need to go and get her back! I’m the one who got her into this. I never meant….for this to happen”
“…Let me see that” Liaena muttered finally, snatching the book out of Rithrynns hand. Job done, Hester strutted past her to sink her beak into the bar of chocolate as the girl started to frantically leaf through the pages. “She…she wouldn’t send me this without a reason. There must be another clue, or something…”

Scanning the text briefly on each page, Liaena paused at the final few entries by Lord Alficious, as the name: ‘White Hand’ caught her eye. A longer pause followed, as she read through the page more thoroughly, Rithrynn lurking over one shoulder. “...I….I guess this is a motive”

Snapping the book unexpectedly closed, Liaena stared at the small leather bound diary in her hand as though it had teeth.

“What have I done?”

“Idiot! interficerent eam! What in the Light was she thinking!?” Liaena cursed as she stomped her way to her feet. Hester fluttered haughtily to her perch as the girl stalked across the room to slam the window shut. “I don’t know why I even bother anymore, if I can’t even give someone a simple task, without going and getting themselves --”

“What if she’s dead?”

Screwing up her eyes, Liaena abruptly slapped herself in the forehead, with the diary, hard. Burst of anger spluttering out, she turned to look at Rithrynn with an expression that could only be described as woebegone. “What if…”

“….”

“No. No. They must have kidnapped her, or something, and she managed to get this to me” Liaena said very decisively. Leafing through the pages as she opened the book again, she stabbed a finger at the haphazard scrawl. “Honour’s point – that’s their fort, she must be there. This, this is important, it proves that Lord Alficious was suspicious of their activities before he died. This is more than we’ve ever had on them before, we can put pressure on them – I need to talk to Sharon”
Is that a subtle commentary about the amount of time I spend on this thread, Rithrynn? :p

It's shadowrun, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadowrun

I have a wanna-be necromancer, a wanna-be gangster, a techno-mage on the run from the british government and a trigger-happy bomber as my PCs. It makes sense in context, really. >_>
“If her mood does improve, I’ve yet to see it” Liaena said a trifle sourly, also studying the little bird trying to break through the glass with a flurry of furious pecks. Resting her head against Rithrynn side, she shut her eyes with a sigh. All the many, many reasons to be furious with the Night Elf not withstanding; accepting the comfort was too tempting right at that moment. “…It’s okay. I’ve had secrets too…”

-BANG BANG BANG- “BWAAARK!”

“Fine! FINE!” Liaena yelled back as she finally stomped to her feet, disentangling herself from Rithrynn to cross the room and swinging the window open to let in Hester and a gust of cold air. The bird dropped a small leather bound book on the sill before beginning to stomp around, ruffling her feathers and giving both women the evil eye as Liaena studied the book in surprise. “…Huh”

Sitting back down next to Rithrynn with a bump, she weighted the book in her hand, looked at the cover before opening it at random and flipping through the pages. “Lord Alficious’ diary? Oh…uh, I asked Kitty to go and investigate the death of this nobleman who was murdered last night”

Liaena added by way of explanation to Rithrynn, who was giving her, and the diary, a distinctly weird look at this point. “Kathlin. The one that was pretending to be me – anyway, he was murdered, and Sherpa’s mercenaries came to gloat. The Red Vanguard – they were the ones that were supposed to be guarding him, so it’s sort of bad for them – asked me to go over there to solve the murder, but I was sort of busy so I got her to go instead. I was kind of expecting her to be done by now, but if she sent over this then I guess that’s something – OW!”

The cry of pain came from when Hester, having been prowling up and down the floor, finally got bored of Liaena’s monologue and sank her beak into the girls hand. Liaena jerked her hand away, snapping the book shut, before giving Hester a filthy look. “What was that for!?”

“CAW!”

“You, are a malevolent, greedy, vulture….fine, take your blood money. And shove off!” Liaena grumbled, feeling in her pocket to produce a bar of chocolate before throwing it at the bird. “So anyway. I think that one of the – WILL YOU STOP THAT!?“

The last comment came as Hester was in the process of attacking her legs viciously, squawking and pecking at her. Liaena effectively batted it back by lobbing the heavy book at the bird; Hester landed on the floor a few yards away to start prowling back again, hissing and spitting.

“Want me to shoot it, Li?”

“Tempting. No.” Liaena said bitterly as she slithered forwards to reclaim the diary, eying the malevolent Hester as she did so. The book had fallen open where it had fallen, revealing some scrawled writing - that made her freeze as she caught sight of it.

“……..”

“Li?”

“Cluck”

I am running a RPG, which is what is eating up a lot of my time. It is going interestingly :p
“A…date?” Liaena said weakly, having once again failed to process any of Rithrynn later remarks or even notice the implied comment about her height.

Glancing down at her lap, the girl gave her dart gun a look that suggested she rather wished it were still loaded. “You, went on a date. With Sherpa.”

“As a –“

“As a secret agent, right, right” Liaena said distantly, waving away Rithrynn’s words as she tried, and failed, to reconcile the concept in her head. An extremely unpleasant point had occurred to her, and she swallowed before speaking. “So you had this…. ‘date’ in this morning?”

“Yes…?”

“Only Sharon said you left last night”

“…”

“Err”

“………………………………”

Liaena was by this point giving Rithrynn a look that was pure ‘you-did-not-just-do-what-I’m-thinking-of” that was mingled parts shock, horror and disgust. Gingerly getting up from where she was sitting next to the Night Elf, Liaena started to back away from her as she glanced down at the used dart gun nervously. “You…and him…but why?”

“Like I TOLD you---“

“THERE ARE WAYS TO INFILTRATE HIS HOUSE THAT DOESN’T INVOLVE SLEEPING WITH HIM!” Liaena screamed, before looking horrified at what she had just said. “…you slept with him?”

“…No!”

“…..”

Liaena threw Rithrynn a disturbed look that also looked decidedly unconvinced, then spun on her heel to start pacing around the room. A bad headache was building behind her eyes and she kneaded her forehead to try drive it away. “This-this is a lot for me to take in right now. Why…why would – a date. You’re dating Sherpa, of all the things. This is insane. Why would you do something like that?”
I am having trouble getting the time to post currently. Sorry. I'm out right now, but will try to get something together tomorrow
