I was working until 3am last night. Ended up sleeping for eleven hours. Shame shall be mine forever!

I'll be on skype or another chat tonight to finish the PMs I started.

@ ulster: Perhaps this was a misread on my part, but I read your history as your considering to declare independence, not having actually declared it. If that were the case, even on an isolated island such as yours, news would reach the Crownlands pretty fast, due to your trade ports being widely accessed by all the other sea trade ports.

Since it's too late to really edit your sheet, I recommend buying crops from So Boerd, or another nearby lord. It'll be costly, but the Growing season's fast approaching.

And on that note, the new season begins at midnight tomorrow. If you haven't made your orders, a simple bullet-point list of things you'd like done is all that's needed. An IC post is not necessary for every season, but your orders are, so please get them in!

EDIT: I've also completely forgotten, I'll be needing to get the Church and Overlord sheets up soon as well.
I'm only allowing Cale to make a mercenary company. This is because, if everyone had a mercenary company, there would be a lot of ways you could kajigger it so that the companies could both act in their best, rational self-interest, and do nothing but serve your own kingdom's interests.

This way, there is only one major merc. company, and they thusly have a monopsony, making collaboration as mentioned difficult.

Cale also has an understanding with me that I am confiscating them if I feel he is abusing their power. He's the only one who can make a merc. company because he asked first. Sorry, lads.

Ah, well, a few things...1. Why the fuck are you still awake Flooby? You better not be drunk.2. The building issue, is that about the Terrandul Bailey's? That was for Terrandul's town. I just felt like saying the Castle. The Watchtowers for the Forts? I need those... The Debauchery Den? Well... damn, fine then.3. Did you name the Courtier yet?4. Understood, next Orders will be done in PM and I'll do the roleplay in IC. Although that stuff I didn't try to keep secret. If I wanted something to be a secret, you'd know.

1. Because insomnia.

2. Nope, just for the Dens.

3. Why, he is the great Flooby Badoop, of course!

4. Saw the PM, thankies.

So are the character ages that we gave in Lund years or earth years?

I felt that getting everyone to recognize a new system of age measurement would be a bit much. For our purposes, all the character ages are in Earth years, though they will advance the Lundish way, mostly for my convenience.

But if we were going by Lundland years, a 9 year old would actually be 12 Earth years old.

EDIT: On second thought, I don't think it'd be a stretch to say all the ages are in Lundish years, given the way I've priced and categorized age groups. But then again. . . hm, this is an interesting thought.
All towns automatically share a trade route. Distance is no factor. It's unrealistic, but just roll with it for me.

And yes, 'tis.

I imagine the whole 4 months a season would throw people off, and I do apologize for the confusion. Time be different in Lundland.

No, equipment upkeep doesn't need to be paid if its not in use. As in, you have a guy, and you can raise him, but you can also choose to not give him any equipment. This is good for training. Once you give that guy equipment, you pay upkeep. Nothing fancy 'bout it.

And no rush, take your time. You got all weekend, and then some.
Just saw your post, Cale. Orders are meant to be PM'd to me, so you don't have to share everything you're doing with other people. Also, Town buildings can only be built in towns. They're not meant for fiefs.

Nice to hear. I tried to make the Aaldoren distinct, but in a way that loans itself to Lundland's general cultural theme. Most of the names come from pre-Norman England, with a bit of Celtic and Norse mixed in.

I noticed that. Your history and culture are such a unique and real take on a distinct culture being assimilated with the local one, as it was with the many roving barbarians in central and western Europe after the fall of Rome.

That, and your math is spot-on, even after a double-check, so that makes me a happy GM.

When will the outcomes of actions be figured?

Certain diplomatic actions ( sending messages and whatnot ) are completed as soon as I can possibly get to them. Anything more than that, and you'll have to wait until the orders are processed at the season's end.
Nex, I fucking love your sheet. That's all I got to say.

I would prefer at least a Stone Wall around the entire island. Even if I am only building a few or so (hundred? I don't know) miles ever so often. I know it would take forever, but ..."They've been building walls there for 2,000 years!" (Quote from World War Z). I really want a wall there. And we can do "patches" but they will connect every time I start a new one.Cough-not saying it'll take me 2,000 years-coughTell me the price of a wooden wall and I'll just upgrade it in patches

As your faithful courtier, I must strongly advise against this idea.

The biggest, baddest medieval fortresses could cover an area of around 20 acres. Lets just use this as a base for what a Great Manor and Great Wall combination is.

The island, according to the measurements I have calculated, is 766 sq. miles ( my original estimate was based off an incorrect remembrance of high school geometry, hah ), which is 490,240 acres, meaning you would have to build 98 miles of wall to cover the island.

While this is not the greatest feat of engineering ever commenced [ the great wall of china is 5,500 miles long ], the expense for you would be ungodly. Since we're assuming the Great Wall in the manual is going around an area of 20 acres, this means you are essentially purchasing 24,512 Great Walls, meaning the cost to build a Great Wall around the whole island would be 3,064,000,000 bullis.

Even just building a wooden palisade around the island would cost 245,120,000 bullis. I don't even need to tell you how much money that is, but I will: in order to make that amount of money, at your current income level, it would take you almost 1600 years.

So, yes, you would actually be building walls for 2,000 years.

I'm sorry to crush your dreams, Cale, but I'm afraid building a wall around that specific island is impossible for you. Find a nice, small island to build on.
