Ahh, it was worth a shot. Won't know if you don't try aye? Didn't know their was a pop cap on Outposts, and might be working with Fortune to make the Outpost a Fortress. I'll tally up some points then get a decent number of Bullis, gimme a sec. Sounds rough. Want me to take him out?

There's no pop cap anymore. Busy right now, so I'll put it on my short list of things to do, but I'll get rid of pop limits on fortresses and outposts in the rules.
Hm, I need to eliminate the population cap on Outposts and Fortresses.

You may not spend an additional point to improve the physical aspects of your troops. Combat in this game is decided by numbers, with tactical and strategic conditions contributing to those numbers. It wouldn't be impossible to account for details like that amongst troops, but it would be difficult to decide what, if any effect it would have on combat, and there's a good deal to consider as-is.

Otherwise, your point totals add up well-enough. Could you please post how many points you've spent on bullis?

Right. I could join Fortune then. Make it a Honourable, highly loyal Mercenary division given a fief as a reward for many years of service.....Or something.

Just create a mercenary group for now, if you wish to join. Fortunes giving you land is something he alone can grant.

Well, the game is already in progress, and it says 'any new players must join the game as mercs'. So I thought a Lord was out of the question.

To be clear, you can't create a new lord, but if a player is willing to grant you the land, or an NPC vassal house is suitable enough to be taken-over by a player, then the player can become a lord that way.

Otherwise, the rules stand, and players can only join as a mercenary group.

I found this part in the Rules link on the first page, does it still apply?Instead of a lord, a new player can elect to play as a group of mercenaries. If a game is already in progress, then any new players must join the game as a mercenary group. The term 'mercenary' is used loosely. A player could create a group of bandits, a holy order, a small band of adventurers, a violent group with an agenda, or any other sort of idea. For the purposes of this guide, however, the player will always be referred to as a mercenary .Playing as a group of mercenaries is a bit different from playing as a Lord. Aside from your settlement, if you elect to have one, you will not be responsible for a population at the game's start. It may happen that in the course of your career, you manage to obtain a fief of your own, but in the beginning, you will have little compared to the lords of Lundland. Player mercenaries start with 50 points to build their group. A player may spend these points on a settlement, settlement upgrades, troops and their equipment, or bullis that the player will start the game with.

Of course. I just assumed you wished to play as a Lord instead of a mercenary.

If I may make a suggestion (mainly to Flooby), perhaps you could take the fiefs on Ironstone Island still in anarchy, and then swear fealty to either of the two factions with stakes on that island (hell, or Pelataria - you're more than welcome to join us, mate)

That's not 'gonna be possible due to recent movements. I suppose I could give KabenSaal one of the NPC houses on the Ironstone Islands, but as the island is now divided between the Bloodsuns and Vasas, either of them would have to be okay with it.
All thee art more rude than ladies in an embroidery circle.

Anyhow, a new rules update has been added to the OP. I wanted to add a lot more bling, but that'll have to wait for another day. What's been added is a section on marriages just before the one on player mercenaries, and a list of assassins for hire, which is located below the hireable npc mercenaries.

Marriages include a number of details on the political aspects of marriage, for those unfamiliar, and then a list of costs for weddings based on their scale and grandiosity.

As for assassins, they are organized much like the NPC mercenaries, and are now available for hire by any lord or lady with the coin.

I will be busy with homework tomorrow and Thursday, so I won't be responding to many messages. I will, however, be posting the new IC at midnight on Thursday.

Loving all the action going on, by the way. You people are delightfully hypocritical and evil.
Alright, that should be everyone.

Once again, my apologies cannot be overstated. If I didn't have so much homework and work-work, I'd likely have gotten this done much sooner. I'll probably be making an excel sheet to help cut down on the time for these big annum-updates.

Now, I have an announcement: I am extending the date for orders to this Thursday at midnight, EST, on the condition that the deadline be verbatim. No getting orders to me at 1am, 2am, 8am, no.

So, enjoy the extra time, play some crusader kings, make some plots in To Lunds, and make sure to get those orders in. If anyone has any questions on their updates, now's the time to ask them. Come the next deadline, that stuff's set in stone, regardless of errors.

So it's being extended?

It's quite possible. I really don't want to, because I work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, then have Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday off, so the schedule works great for To Lunds, and it'd be a shame to mess it up.

I'll have an answer by this coming morning.

Ask Ealmund(Or Flooby), he's the one paying Dread to take control over the lands for House Ealmund.

Circumstances have changed. Dread is now essentially going to be there until the end of the Waiting season, simply because that's what Ealmund payed for. After that, they won't be needed. You'll learn more when your update comes.
Alright, was able to escape at work and get stuff down on paper, so all the updates should be done between now and 4pm. If they aren't, I may just extend the update date, but we'll see.
