House History

Pelataria - wealth bursting at the seams of her small holdings. The history of House Cole, and of Vetus Patriae (The Old Country, as Pelataria is often referred), began during the early stages of Lundland's history. The Overlord, looking to expand his holdings into the unorganized lands of the western peninsula, sent a scouting party led by the explorer Robert Pelas to report on the quality of the land. Abney made his way through what is now western Lundland, until his party made it to the great ocean. There, he found a land fertile plentiful in resources, with a magnificent natural seaport. In his journal he referred to the discovered land as "Palma" - a term for paradise. Pelas then eagerly returned to the Overlord who, intrigued by this new prospect, gave orders for a minor noble to settle the land. In the end he chose Pelas' father-in-law, Lord Tyler Cole, as the recipient to gain ownership of the land. In return for Robert's discovery of the land, the Overlord and Lord Cole both agreed on the name of the new holdings: Pelataria, the Land of Pelas.

Shit, math, and it requires a shit ton of thought. I'll try, but I was interested in just the customization and creation of a Nation. Didn't realize this was some hardcore tabletop shiz xD

The nation receipts can be a bit frustrating at times, but once you get past those, the rest of the math and tabletop stuff is all done by Flooby, leaving you to handle the diplomacy and war and stuff. All you need to do really is keep track of your treasury so that you don't go broke and have to sell the Royal Toilet Seat.

Edit: also, as I said earlier, I'll be bringing Pelataria back. However I'm currently on vacation and have very little time to do much work on the edits to my sheet (I'll try for tonight, but no promises). If at all possible I'd like to request the same position I had last time - the Portugal-esque location on the western shores.

Nah, Arthur isn't in it at all. I think Flooby might have used those names symbolically, or it could have been coincidental. *shrugs*

Anywho, I'm not even gonna try to attempt to explain the current story arc with the overlord and the heirs and such, because my Lord was so damn far away from all that that I just kinda disregarded it for the most part. Someone else would be better suited to explain.

But as for the story as a whole, basically you've got this country - Lundland - which operates as a typical medieval nation: a King (or Overlord) rules the nation, but has a bunch of Lords under him who own the land. You play as one of these Lords, and basically control your own faction in Lundland. You are largely independent, and can wage war on other Lords and stuff (or really do whatever the hell you want - Flooby has been awesome about not confining players to certain actions). There are also a bunch of hostile nations all around, making life rather difficult.
