Woot! I'm out of my event early...hm...not sure if I want to post next though :p Shelton and them had been working on this angle for a little while now, and Fortune just posted...I'd feel bad for taking the lead on this one o.o I mean I can, but perhaps just a collab between all of us for this part? I think it would suite this seen best. If you all are up for it that is. Hm...Let's see here...I guess I can try and make a PM group for all of us at the Camp. Just let me know if that's what you all want to do first though. Again, if you guys prefer I can just take the lead with my post, but I feel like this is the perfect time for a coolab post!

I like this idea! However maybe it would be good for an initial post from either Shelton, AB or Wired first before said collab post? Just to get them in the scene, as currently they're still hidden. But that's just my opinion :)
Jack closed his eyes and slightly shook his head, before giving a laugh and a smile. The kid had gotten him pretty worried there, making him think something was wrong. The first thing Jack thought was that one of them was hiding a walker bite. However.. Everything seemed to be alright. With Claire in the passenger seat, Chris in the truck-bed, and his loaded Remington sitting comfortably in his lap, Jack put his foot on the brakes, and put the old Toyota in reverse. He wasn't sure what awaited them - be it comfort or war - but for the first time in a long time he wasn't going in alone, and that reassured him.

Jack started along the road, keeping the pillar of smoke in his line of sight until the forest began to obstruct it. About three quarters of the way, or as near as he could judge, he slowed the truck to a halt, and, turning, leaned out of the window to speak to Chris.
"The camp will be just up ahead, if you follow the road. It looks like the ground elevates a bit left of the road, that might be your best bet if you want the high ground," he advised, before changing his tone.
"Good luck, Chris." With that, he continued down the road toward the camp. The old truck bumped along to the uneven curves in the dirt path, and Jack took it reasonably slow as he advanced. Soon, he could see the campsite, occupied by a couple of tents, the fire-pit, and three survivors - two men and a woman. Jack had gone slow enough for Chris to have beaten him there going a more direct route, and he hoped that the boy was now in position. The road kept straight until reaching the camp site, where it took a left turn around the small hill he had pointed out to Chris. The site was just to the right of the road, and flanked by another hill that Jack had not anticipated. He pulled the truck in toward the campsite, slowing the closer he got and making sure that his side of the truck was exposed, not Claire's. Then, with a deep breath, he exited the truck shotgun in hand.
"We're friendly, don't shoot!" He called from the road about six yards away. He was going out on a limb here, hoping they weren't hostile, but his shotgun was ready just the same. "We happened to be staying here and saw your fire."
3 doesn't seem like too many, especially when they're separated by social class like yours are.

I just realized my character is... like... 50 miles from you guys...Well, then there's Nallore, Vanilla-Fire, and pretty much half the village of Ashpoint.-IIRC, there was a sniper in the church belltower of Ashpoint (the one that took a liking to Dmitri's Nagant), he died when an AH-64 shot a hellfire at his face. I don't remember the character's name, but he was a generally likeable character and a possable romantic-interest.

Cameron, I believe. Yeah, pretty sure he killed the character off of his own accord as he wanted to leave.

There were also all those people who were part of that small group with Shan and Travis in the city that all just went inactive lol.

And, to clarify, those deaths were due to (and please correct me if I'm wrong) -

1. Post quality
2. General asshattery
3. ...Weird and/or disturbing content. I'll leave it at that.

Vote away!

Well I must say this one was close. Wernher had a lot of interesting viewpoints, and went about the Q&A quite tactfully, however in the end I found that Shoe - although at times not seeming concrete enough with his standpoints - better aligned with my (a generic voter) views on the future of this nation. Therefore, I'd like to cast my ballot in favor of Mr. Shoe for the office of President of the United States.
Byrd, any chance the average American citizen (a.k.a. someone who isn't participating in the RP, but following along) could vote? Told you I'd be watching this closely, and now this whole election thing's caught my attention :)

If not, totally cool too. I'll continue cheering from the sidelines.
Reposting Miles' CS, and the BAAC Faction Sheet:

Glancing over at the truck, then back at the siblings, before nodding decisively. "Good idea, Claire. The truck will provide a bit more cover for us if they aren't friendly, and will give us a quick 'out' if we can't overpower them," he stopped himself, before revising his statement: "No matter what, we need to be going there peacefully. We aren't thieves, and we have to give them a chance in case they are friendly - just like you gave me a chance. I was unarmed, and you coulda' shot me, Chris." He then looked over at Claire. He wasn't fond of putting her in potential danger - or either of them, for that matter - but knew it was necessary for all of their survival, on the off-chance the people at the fire weren't open to talking anything out. "If they're about to attack, get behind the truck or find something solid for cover. I'll try to pin them down with suppressive fire while you get to safety." Getting his keys, he made his way to the old two-door Toyota and started the engine. Taking a deep breath and laying the shotgun on his lap, he leaned out the window and beckoned Chris and Claire to get in.
