I'm done with finals on Wednesday. Anyone wanna pull a super resurrection on this thing?

Hell, we've done it before. I'm in.
Awesome! I'll probably wait to see if four or so more people join up before making an OOC.
RP Overview:
This Roleplay takes place in the XCOM: Enemy Unknown Alternate Universe, following a three year - ultimately unsuccessful - alien invasion. If you are unfamiliar with XCOM, don't worry! This all takes place years after, and little to no knowledge of the game itself is required. In fact, most information regarding the world itself and how it differs is explained in the Prologue (below).

Essentially, this RP boils down to a conflict between individuals who are able to access key parts of their brains (and thus perform otherwise impossible feats) - Psychics - and the rest of the world. Out of fear, the world governments plan to segregate, isolate, and - potentially - exterminate the Psychics, due to the threat they pose to the balance of power. Players will take the role of a Psychic, caught up in the struggle.

With this, I'd like to examine the concepts of human oppression and segregation, as well as what would ensue when a group must start a revolution not for power, but for survival. So is there any interest in this? Any suggestions or questions are more than welcome!

What even is going on in the other storyline (that convoy of people on the road)? Who is still active from there?
Yo, anyone around?
Jack took Matt's hand in a firm handshake - something he excelled at due to his now useless profession - as he listened to the soldier's instructions. Looking over, he saw Claire tentatively put away her gun, a good sign. Then, Matt introduced the others in the group, and Jack felt an incredible feeling of déjà vu. Momentarily unable to place it, he suddenly recalled a passage from the only piece of literature he possessed.

We made it back from the supply run alive. Rusty, Izzy, myself and Olive - turns out the kid can hold her own out there, perhaps better than some of the adults - found a reasonable supply, as well as seven survivors. Four were holed up inside of a gas station, within the city. Two men, both tall, I've forgotten their names quite honestly, but I'll make it a point to re-introduce myself tomorrow morning. In addition, there were two others - a guy and girl in their twenties or so. The boy was a hot-head, nearly started a gunfight, though.. I suppose we weren't all that friendly initially, either. Finally we got him to put down the gun; he introduced himself as Travis. He was traveling with a girl, she's mute, and appears not nearly as apt to jump to a fight as Travis. He called her Shan. All four of them came back with us..

His surprise was visible on his face following Matt's introduction. In fact.. That group - Desmond's - they had a fellow named Matt. Matt Shelton - a soldier. Was it possible that..? No, he put his curious mind to rest. He had seen Shan speak, just a minute or two ago. And Travis didn't seem all that hot-blooded. Besides, they were miles and miles away from where he had found Desmond's body. It was more than likely a coincidence, and there were better things to do - like finding Chris.
"Claire and I can take the truck along the road. We can use my cabin as a rally point after we secure the supplies - it was the welcome center, you probably saw it from the entrance if you came that way," he added.

Is it okay for me to jump back in as well? Not sure I'd be able to make it work with James since he was pretty much nonexistent during the attack and what came after due to my absence. I could write up another character though if I need to.

You could probably make it work with some kind of recap post of the attack through James' eyes, or something along those lines. It's up to the GMs though

OH SHIT, what's up guys? it's yuh boy Rustythings look very differentcan i join back up or wut

YOU.
As Claire began to show signs of trusting him, Jack felt his heart rate go back to normal. Chris was missing, but he likely was still alive. And the others.. She was smart to be suspicious, but at the same time their help might mean the difference between finding Chris dead or alive - if at all.
"We'll keep an eye on them. They seem like decent people, but.. They're still strangers. But they're strangers who may just be able to find Chris," he paused, considering another possibility. The bandits that Matt's group had just killed.. Perhaps those weren't all of them? Perhaps others in the group that were out hunting came back, found Chris, put two and two together and took him? Jack shook the speculation away for now, as Matt came upon the clearing followed by two others. With his trained eye, Matt found more in the crime scene than Jack ever could.

He turned his attentions to the two others, a man and a woman both looking in their twenties, as he started to map out a course of action for the group. "We're looking for a member of our group, a boy named Chris," he began to describe what he knew about the kid, before remembering that he had only met him and his sister no more than two hours ago. Still, it was enough to go on.
"If you could help us, that'd mean a lot. And if we're gonna be tracking together, we should probably at least know each other's names, huh? I'm Jack."
