General Interest Check

October 20 2014 AKA Arrival Day of the Arrival (20-10-AY) the day it all begun. From portals which defied all laws of physics places and things which only existed only in fiction, our myths, art or imagination, appeared. Dragons, mages, elves, robots and many more begun to fill the world. To make things even worse each location which appeared would "stretch" the Earth, pushing away what was located there when the location appeared, and soon Earth started to get gigantic patches which sometimes didn't even fit in the climate and vegetation of the area. From parts of Azeroth (Warcraft) to the Academy City (To Aru Universe) many thing begun to appear all over the world.

Timeline of events

20 October 2014 (Arrival Day of Arrival Year) - "The Arrival" in which multiple locations and races from Earth's mythology and fiction appear, causing panic and disaster as they do. Some of them include: Parts of Azeroth, Discworld, parts of Weyard, the Dragon race.

November 2014 - January 2015
The war between Dragons and US –Mexico Alliance for the control of California state and peninsula goes on. Russia is heavily burdened by the sudden appearance of many parts of Azaroth, Discworld and Weyard. Europe is stable, for now.

14 January 2015 (Re-genesis Year 1)
Golden Sun fires, converging over the place where Mt. Aleph appeared in this world - near the Hungarian city of Debrecen. The resulting release of Psyenergy both turns most of the Pannonian basin into mountains. Soon Adepts start to pop up all over the world.

9 February RY 1 (2015)
Battle of Walker Pass ends in a terrible defeat of the US-Mexico Alliance, leading to the Californian separation from US which forms the Republic California which now becomes something akin to a vassal state to the Dragons which also take south Oregon and large parts of western Mexican cost.

25 September RY 1 (2015)
1960 Germany from the Fatherland novel appears in Europe. Chaos erupts as large parts of Europe are ransacked before the EU can stop and destroy the country. The EU forms the Mandate out of most of this newly appeared Germany.

11 April RY 2 (2016)
"Spark" Project, a project aimed to create weapons against creatures as dragons and mages is started by US and Canada.

30 June RY 2 (2016)
"Land of Oz" appears in Canada but is quickly sized by join US and Canada forces.

2 December RY 2 (2016)
Arda (Middle-Earth) appears in the Southern Pacific Ocean.

20 March RY 3 (2017)
The east China, hailing from the Fallout universe a century before the nuclear war which lead to the events of Fallout appears north of Scandinavia. In the next 5 years this county used its more advanced technology to push into Europe. EU and allies have been forced to abandon all territory north from the Alps, Pyrenees, Carpathian and the Pannonia mountains (which formed as a result of the previously mentioned Golden Sun event). Small holdouts are still present in the form of the Crimean peninsula, Iceland, Ireland and Scotland.

Mahora City (Mahou Sensei Negima!) appears in the northern Kanto province.

Under the constant strain of Azaroth population rebellions the Russian Federation splits in three parts: the Russian Federation in the west, which controls European Russia and the area between the Ural and Novosibirsk; the Union of Kamchatka, Okhotsk, Vladivostok and Amur (UKOVA) which controls the respectable regions as well as the Yakutsk river valley; the rest becomes a number of Azaroth-race states.

15 July RY 5 (2019)
Academic City (To Aru Universe) appears in Tokyo Bay. It quickly cooperates with the Japanese government to keep Japan safe.

Gensokyo appears in the Tohoku region, the Hakurei barrier is significantly weakened by the transfer, allowing many inhabitants of Gensokyo to travel outside. Y.Y. strengthens the barrier, but a number of Gensokyo inhabitants escaped and Y.Y. forces the Japanese government to collaborate in finding the escaped Gensokyo population.

29th March RY 7 (2021)

29th March RY 7 (2021) RP Starting Date
A new day dawn on the once small town of Buje, which now swells under the flow of refugees, both human and not, which are fleeing from the Chinese forces marching southwards. But what is unknown that in the next few day the eyes of the world will fist turn and then keep looking at the events which will unfold in this peaceful town.

The RP will take place in the town of Buje, which severs as one of the transfer and living places for refugees, human or not, from the more northern parts of Europe.
Except for the core which can be observed using Google Map or another similar service Buje now has also changed as it is:
All across the hills around the core of the city before "The Arrival" slums and refugee camps have spawned, reaching somewhere between 20,000-100,000 in population (due to a significant presence of refugees no listed in official files).
A EUFOR base and airfield also have been build north from the town to help control the Alpine area of Slovenia and defend the Sava river valley, one of the rare parts of the Pannonian basin which evaded becoming a mountain region from the Golden Sun, thus becoming one of the key sources of food for the remains of EU.
The valley around the city have been turned into as efficient as possible agricultural lands, mostly direct consumption cultures like wheat to evade the cost of nurturing livestock.
All industrial facilities have been turned towards the needs of stopping the advances of China into EU territory, AKA they are producing weapons and military supplies.

Questions are welcomed as well as suggestions.

If you don't like the location just say another settelment in which you would like the RP to be set in.

Suggestions to add more fictional locations which appeared on Earth are also welcomed. All you need is what you are suggesting to be added, where its general location would be and the date it "arrived". There is only one restriction - no places where FTL propulsion is known and widely used will be a part of this RP.

(Why there are two of this interest check? That is because to little people pay attention to the GENERAL INTEREST CHECKS where this check so I decided to target the Casual Section with a copy of this interest check.)

Setting:
The IDS, mostly in the local orbital area of the planets Esscela & Mayy.

The Inter-Dimensional Space (IDS), the Everything, a infinite space governed by the three universal laws and inhabited by an infinity of species, build out of Dimensions - shorter from Dimensionally Defined Unique Probability - unique possible realities which can differ between each other in anything from a single even or all the laws of physics & magic. The Post-Dimensional Society, the joint economy and culture of many countries in the IDS which are able to project their military power in any part of the known IDS, is the dominant power in the IDS with an never-ending thirst for power.

Now in one corner of the IDS a mysterious device left by some ancient civilization is found on a planet under the concession of the Revenul Corporation. Without facilities and experts required to examine such artifact Revenul decides to ship off the artifact to United Corporation, their parent corporation, for study. They hastily load the device into "SS Lorgger" a Forkaw Class Transport, put it into one of the ore-filled convoys to disguise it, while at the same quickly summoning mercenaries to create an escort group for the convoy. But the Pirates of IDS will not waste a opportunity to attack such a target, even if well protected and while making its way, near the planet of Esscela the convoy is attacked and during the course of the attack the artifact on the Forkaw activates, sucking in both convoy and pirate ships far into the orbit of the still undiscovered planet of Mayy. Now Mercenary, Pirate and Mayyins alike will have their fate rewritten by this single event...

Relevant terms:
Esscela - A minor transit system & planet in the outer area of the known IDS.
Mayy - ? An Earth-like planet. More info will be given as part of the story.
United Corporation (UC[]) - The largest IDS corporation which is also an IDS superpower.
Revenul Corporation - One of the many corporations that have been made/taken over by United Corporation to evade monopoly charges.

General about ship classes
Mercenaries mostly use ships build by one of the IDS corporations or the newest ships that were put out of service by one of the larger IDS countries. Many of this ships are human in origin and a large part come from Earth-based corporation and nations resulting in names like for example "Washington class, Nebraska Class, America Class and so on." The usual pattern of naming spaceship classes is cruisers - countries; destroyers - states/regions; frigates - cities; corvettes - people; gunships - animals & plants. Battleships & carries are usually named after larger land masses like America or Tempe (from Tempe Terra on Mars).
Pirates on the other hands have many unique, custom build starships, many even not of much combat use. There are still a few notable classes like the Cutlass Class Raiding Cruiser, the Pirate Class Raiding Destroyer, the Raider Class Raiding Vessel (frigate sized) and the Cloak MP Strike Craft. Pirate vessels of all types exceed at using stealth.

About some of the stuff in the sheet.
Weapon classification. Strategic are weapons designed to attack larger orbital structures and planets. Capital weapons are designed to be effective against larger ships and all kinds of orbital structures. Tactical are designed to engage smaller, quicker starships and have some effect against larger targets and strike craft as well. Anti-strike craft weapons are designed to take on Strike Crafts, fighters, bomber & torpedo bombers trough they are also quite good against smaller gunships.
Weapons. Some notable weapons or weapon types. Arrays - just like phasers in Star Trek those are long strips which can fire beams at enemy ships. Most arrays are Tactical or Anti-Strike Craft Weapons. Torpedoes - guided ammunition fired from tubes used as strategic, capital or tactical weaponry. SPARROW - in all sizes and varieties the SPARROW are missiles with an almost perfect guiding system used in all roles. from bombarding planets to killing humans. SPARROW is a invention of UC. Omega Uplink – A device which generates a dimensional passage which allows the UC’s Omega Cannon to fire trough it, bringing its devastating power to the battlefield.
Armor & Shielding - Armor in IDS military starships is usually build with a Power Metalum (magically treated Ancient Metalum) layer on the outside a few Ancient Metalum (a strong metal which requires too much energy to be efficiently replicated so it is mined) layers bellow that all with numerous femtobot (robots on the femtometric scale) repairing layers. Shields are Magi-Tech constructs which can have between a few thousands to just a half a dozen of layers.
Turning - To be expressed by X/10 in which X is any number from 1.0 to 10.0 (one decimal point score). The bigger the ship the slower the turning!
Power- Most power on IDS ships is provided through a series of reaction which use the energy and radiation from matter-antimatter annihilation to do a step by step procedure whit the help of Magic to create a reaction between Energy and Anti-Energy and the collect the resulting Magic to gain power. Pure matter-antimatter annihilation is still used for secondary power and fusion usually provides the auxiliary needs together with Magi-Tech batteries. It should be noted that a quasi-stable form of antimatter, known as Antimatter Crystals are used in Matter-Antimatter reactions in the IDS.

Mayy is a world in the Earth's late 20th century inhabited only by humans. A single country managed to dominate most of the world for over 1000 years but in a war some 30 years ago due to lack of oil it was greatly weakened until oil was found in one part of the country, allowing the battlefronts to grind to a halt since it and its enemies were roughly equal in all things. But that might not stay for that long ... (Nukes are known but MAD is preventing anything except a tactical one being used from time to time. Due to the war most countries are militarized and while military techs are starting to enter the Earth's eighty's the civilian ones, like television, are still in the mid sixty's.) Expect a map soon ...

A Trip To Aerethia (gamer5 & taistelusopuli)

Well most of the mafia is pretty much the same "families" as the ones in our world whit each larger Aerethian city having at least one. To be noted is "Black Night Group" which is made out of the "Black Moon" which is the leadership of the group while also handling the more professional jobs like large scale smuggling, the other part, "Dark Night" is quite similar to a gang. One special mafia is the "Valorian Trade Syndicate" which accepts only Valorians and is heavily focused on smuggling.
