She returned Astrid's soft smile-upon being introduced to the group. But she didn't really think, much off her anti-social moment at that exact moment. The girl was probably hungry and Veronica was new after all. It might take her a while, to fit in among the group that Astrid knew for her entire time here at Hogwarts. Plus the rumbling stomachs around her, were another give-away. The French girl was a bit more sensitive than Astrid was, as she had grown up in a slightly different environment than the blonde girl...and it was just her personality that made her feel awry of the 5th year comments and feeling bit defeated. It seemed like, a part of her was scared. Would people think she had something to do with the uprising too? She sure hoped not...she was already nervous about fitting in, as it were. But that thought, made her feel somewhat uneasy. After all, she came from a school who's reputation had dropped and was no longer welcome here.
She kept a bit to herself for the next few moments; but she couldn't help but over hear what Astrid had said to the student who asked her about France. She returned the soft and friendly smile-as if she was thanking her for the 'help.' She had been putting some food on her plate, when she heard James' hissy fit about Quidditch being cancelled and she watched a little surprised at him taking it out on his plate and sausage. Noticing Remus catch his friend's plate-Veronica could see the scars upon his hands. They didn't exactly seem fresh, but she quickly averted her brown eyes not wanting to be caught staring at the older Gryffindor. Despite the scarred hands, and the scruffy hair-due, he was rather attractive.
During the course of the feast; she tried to mostly focus on the conversation with Lily, who was telling her pretty much everything there was to know. Lily had made Veronica feel at ease, and welcome among the Gryffindors right away. Which she was rather thankful for, as the two girls talked and got to know each other a bit as well, Veronica was smiling and laughing along with Lily and the Gryffindor boys, who sometimes joined into the conversation, and the stories they shared. As the boys, spoke about the tournament-she couldn't help but glance over at them briefly. Her eyes locked with Remus across the table. Her lips curled up into a soft and warm smile, blushing slightly as she saw the hint of cheekiness in his eyes. That's when she heard him say, he was going to go for the Tournament. He seemed like a brave guy, for wanting to place himself in such danger.
She glanced over at Remus a few times during the feast; but sometimes quickly averted her gaze from slight shyness and not wanting to be caught staring. Veronica enjoyed her dinner, drink and chat with Lily for the majority of the evening in the Grand Hall. By the end of the feast; she was pretty along with everyone else felt stuffed. Veronica had to take a few deep breaths, still trying to digest the food. When Veronica heard Lily asking Remus to show her up to the tower, she tried to fight a forming blush on her cheeks.
Looking at Remus, she bit her bottom lip slightly. Her dark hair hiding the forming blush on her cheeks, as it fell around the curves of her face perfectly. "Well, I guess I feel a little nervous about the transfer. But right now, I am feeling a bit stuffed from all the food." she smiled at him gently. Veronica gave Lily a soft wave, as she and Remus left the hall-following his lead up to the Gryffindor Tower. Veronica stood and just admired the moving stair-cases and talking paintings for a few moments. Hogwarts was different than her last school. "How do you not get, lost with all these moving stairs?" she giggled lightly. She knew it probably sounded like a silly question, as he probably knew the Castle inside out by now. But she would probably get lost, if she didn't have a tour guide...or a map, or just general advice. The stairs they stood upon, started to shift and she let out a slight gasp gripping onto the banister; not wanting to lose her grip and foothold.
