To be perfectly honest I wondered why you were even arguing it, due to the fact I pointed out using her 0-turn abilities instead of the big fuck-you card that I still think you're half-assed metagaming to avoid.

I honestly thought you believed the prepping mechanics to work like that, it's not really something I could avoid trying to explain. But you know, glad that wasn't the case.

As for half-assed metagaming, I had two approaches to chose from;

Edmund would either spot Ysolda (sensors all over, remember?), fuck her shit up with the mecha tail before she could even start chanting, disrupting or at least delaying the prep, then, with the knowledge that Ysolda can dodge the fuck out of anything non-aoe, blast a drill into the ground and detonate it. Nuclear explosion, much less climatic.

Or, get a call from HQ, and under the false belief that he had already vanquished his foes and the city, abandon his mecha, and detonate it to prevent anyone from stealing or replicating it. Nuclear explosion, less climatic, but good tie-in to future battles.

As for future reference, if you would refrain from announcing your moves ahead of time like you did, people can carry out actions they would do anyway without fear of meta-gaming. What else was I to do, stomp your dude (who can dodge energy beams and missiles) with my slow ass mech?

I'm not a fucking noob, homie...

Heh. Well, in that case you can scratch point 2. I didn't fully understand what you meant when you talked about transferring essence. My bad. Glad you didn't actually think you could shift preps around.

Pretty sure I already noted I could do that.

Huh. So, you never thought you could switch your prep 3 attack for another prep 3 attack?

Wait... So multiple un-prepped attacks that can all be launched in a single post have the same severity as a single attack with the same number of preps behind it? They're not just considered three un-prepped attacks that can be defended against as such?

Gods no. That would be crazy. They are totally considered un-prepped, and can be defended against as such.
Well, I am asking because there's a difference between arguing about opinions, and arguing about facts. It's pretty important that you understand the fact that one can not transfer preps between two different attacks or techniques, as per the rules of play. Knowing that now saves us the trouble of arguing about it at a later time, because that rule is constant.

Just to be clear, however, you -can- cancel one technique and utilize another instead (non-prepped), there is nothing in the way of that.
Does that mean we're in agreement on point 2?

1.) Ok, then.2.) Prove it.3.) You personally have given me all I need to survive it.

2.
Here you go. In addition to knowing that T1 doesn't work like that, it is also stated in the rules at the first page of this thread;
Power is determined by the content of prior posts. The more the attack is described and noted in context of the exchange of posts between characters, the greater the strength of the attack or defensive maneuver.

- Equality of posts and preparations (preps): The attack (or defense) strength is equal to the number of posts made for that action. All individual posts are equal in strength, but posts can be stacked if you clearly state that you are preparing for an action.

3. Go right ahead, I'm curious.

Yeah, actually. She hasn't fully CAST the spell yet, just done the incantation TO cast it. So logically she could just commit the essence to another spell or ability, as long as it was one of her 0-turn spells or a charm that could be used reflexively. Plus... Total Annihilation makes a column of pure destruction that is over five miles high. At 1500mph, he is going at about 1 mile every 2.5 seconds. That means I would have to stall for about seven seconds (given he waiting until I was about half done with the incantation to eject) before detonating it to let him reach such a height. If Ysolda detonates the spell on her location (killing herself, of course) That would not allow Green's guy to escape the height of the blast.Just saying.However, it is more likely that I will simply redirect the essence flow into something entirely different. Think of Essence like Mana, really. As long as you haven't spent it, you can change what it is used for.And to be fair... this "Nuke" is a Zero-Charge attack. So...Lastly... Green himself has given me a way to survive the attack, though he may or may not realize it.

1. Not going straight up. Going to avoid the width of your blast.

2. No, you can not start prepping one attack and use it's preps for something else instead. Those kind of things have to be specific.

3. That "nuke" is actually three nukes, and unless you've got a prepped shield to counter it, it doesn't matter if it's not prepped. It's still three nukes.

Good luck trying to catch mah dude though.

*Beep*

"Huh?" Genocide growled. A distorted voice roared over the inter-com. "HQ to Genocide!" - What!? Headquarters? He was on down-time, why would they-.. "Come in Genocide!" - He sighed, in the distance the hundreds upon hundreds of missiles crashed down upon the earth, and shattered it, leaving nothing but a massive crater in it's wake. "Genocide here.", the energy beam he had fired had vanquished both of his foes, as far as he was concerned. "Return to base." the inter-com commanded. "Return to-.. What? Why!? I'm on a fucking mission he-.. " - "Your down-time is cancelled. We're launching a preliminary assault on the Angar-Ryllan armada, a hit-and-run if you will. You're on the first wave."

They really wouldn't let him do his own thing, would they? Sheeshush. He was having such a good time and all. "What about the mecha?" He asked. It wasn't easy peasy getting that massive steel construct around, especially not after entering orbit. "Leave it. You will be compensated for it's loss." - Huh, they must be desperate to go to such a length to get him to join that assault. Expecting one hell of a battle, no doubt. Great. "Angar-Ryllan, huh?" Edmund said. "I suppose I haven't got a choice. Departing now, I'm done here anyway." He flicked a switch, and he was dropped down into the pod-jet below. It was about this time that Ysolda was half-way through her chanting.

Edmund put on his seatbelt, pushed the joystick forward, and pulled a red emergency lever hanging from the ceiling. A winged escape pod shot out of the mecha's mouth like yet another missile, before it's engines roared loudly and propelled it into the distance and up into the sky at 1500mph, leaving nothing but a smoketrail behind. Well, that and the mecha itself.

Not that it mattered, because excactly three seconds after taking off, Edmund pushed the self-destruct button, and the mecha and it's three nuclear reactors, both it's primary and the two located within it's drill-fists, detonated instantly in a humongous blast of unparalleled destructive nuclear power. Would be a shame if Ysolda and Erde happened to be next to it when that happened.
