Technology is in no way inferior to magic, nor vica versa. They both have their pro´s and cons. Technology can be prepped just as much as magic can, and in most cases come out superior in that field, as it often becomes the item itself charging, and not the wielder (allowing the wielder to do other moves unhindered), of course, this can be done with magical artifacts as well.

Vordak has a great point on the weight issue.

I'm still trying to come up with a decent concept for our sparring match. I'm held up with exams and whatnot, so there's not too much of my capacity left for thinking up new concepts. Hence why I figured this star wars thing could be a good idea, since I've already got two separate characters made for the setting. I say we put our sparring match on hold for now and focus on this for the time being. I'll pm you when I find the time to write down a character to face yours. We'll see where it goes. As for this, I'm gonna go for the cinematic approach on it, but don't let your guard down ;)

Before I head to bed; I have to say, if it's not too bold, that to allow the wounds to fester benefits no one but those who wish to see you suffer. To mark it as a lesson learned, and carry on with your head up high, is to live life untainted. Pain can leave you wounded and distrustful, or stronger and wise.

Just throwing out crap really. It's hard talking about things when I don't know the context. Maybe you'll find it helpful, maybe not. At least it's been said.
