RP Thread
This rp is a homage to the beloved Tales Series, and as such will borrow a good amount of things from the series in general. Hopefully it's someone's cup of tea, eheh.
Setting

Zepharia is a planet much like Earth, blue and green and full of life. At the exact center of the world exists a fantastic island that is home to the World Tree, Grandrasil. Its titanic roots burrow deep into the planet, creating a network much alike a nervous system, where Zael energy flows and sustains life. Without the tree, the Chaos trapped deep within the core of the earth would spring free and end the world as we know it. Thankfully, Grandrasil converts the Chaos energies into the much more life-friendly Zael, which in turn makes the planet prosper and allows for the usage of Artes, which allow living beings to go past their limits with either physical skills or magical spells.

However, 100,000 years since the World Tree took root, multiple crises now threaten the world. The Empire of Parthos, a militaristic giant, has set its sights on conquering the whole planet with its war machines and sciences and has taken over half of all the world's countries into its iron grip. The other great power, the Alzeban Alliance, has banded the remaining countries together in order to fight off the Parthosian advance, though in fighting and turmoils regularly threaten to disband the only way to defeat the mighty armies heading their way.

All of said war efforts are now absorbing the Zael through their amassed forces, leaving less and less energies to sustain the rest of the world. As a result, desertification has begun to encroach upon the borders of once fertile lands, gaining momentum slowly but steadily. The loss of Zael also meant that the tree had to pump out a substitute to keep the world alive... Chaos. Only partially refined before it was released out into the surface, these polluted energies have mutated flora and fauna into "Monsters", and making them much more aggressive and dangerous in the process.

Such was the predicament that Grandrasil was forced to create antibodies to the current situations, artificial lifeforms shaped from Zael itself in the form of the sapient races. Programmed with the goal of ending the war in mind, these Zaelborn were then flung through the atmosphere to pop up in settlements all around the world. All of the Zaelborn would find themselves working on ways to stop the conflict in mind as they grew, whether it be from military service, adventuring, politics, or even terrorism. Now... will the Century of Conflict finally end? (Despite what the rather dramatic reading says, it won't be Tales inspired if there isn't any light hearted shenanigans and general goofiness, of which there will be plenty of.)
Important Terms

World Tree, Grandrasil- A giant tree that towers over even the mountains. It is what trapped the Chaos of the world and let life stabilize and evolve into sapience by producing Zael.
Zael- The purified energy that all life relies on. It is being consumed faster than the tree is able to produce due to massive amounts of war weapons.
Zaelborn- The player characters themselves. They tend to be special individuals with above average abilities in certain areas, courtesy of their heritage. All want to end the war, and their reasonings range vastly on how to solve this dilemma.
Chaos- The raw form of energy that is inherently unstable and warps existing lifeform. Currently trapped in the core of the earth, though semi-purified streams of it are now billowing out of Grandrasil.
Parthos Empire- The instigator of the 100 Year War and Century of Conflict. Has taken over half the world and known for using technology powered by Zael such as tanks and airships. High ranking soldiers are also modified into cyborgs to increase combat potential. The nobility is corrupt and their motto is "Might makes right".
Alzeban Alliance- The remaining half of the world's superpowers banded together to resist the power hungry Parthos. Consists of the Halderon Republic (1800s America), the Kingdom of Lanniston (Western Europe), and the Sen Nations (Japan, China, Korea-esque.).
Arte- The special abilities that some lifeforms are capable of. Usually divided into either Strike (physical techniques) or Arcane (magical spells). Then there are Mystic Artes, which basically amount to a super move that is inherently different depending on its users' personalities and characteristics, no two are the same. Pretty much, yes. Beginnings of crossovers do have the trend to be rather fast. It'll slow down pretty soon though. XD
Okay sure, will do that.
"...Uh..." The man in the cloak made that eloquent sound as he came to, blinking the sleep out of his eyes and adjusting the circular lens of his glasses back to normal as he sat up. He was rather tall, and adorned as he was, looked much like a spellcaster from fantasy save for some modern bits and pieces here and there on his person. In his hands was even a patterned wooden staff. This was the adventurer Shiroe, who went by the alias of "Villain in Glasses".

He had just died in the game turned reality of Elder Tales and found himself to be revived, though not in the Cathedral as he was expecting. Instead of a stone altar surrounded by stained glass windows and pews, he found himself lying in a snowy field, more specifically a copse of evergreen trees. Cold flakes drifted from the blacked clouds overhead, dusting the terrain in white and chill. "This is much too strange..." Shaking off the powder from his frame, Shiroe stood up and regarded his surroundings.

Outside of the copse were... buildings. They were not derelict and overgrown with greenery like in Yamato, but tidily well kept. But... the architecture. They spanned many designs and time periods and yet they all existed side by side. Gothic castles, American skyscrapers, Chinese pagodas... There were even some alien buildings that looked like they came from another planet. Worse was the fact they looked much too real to be fakes...

From the corner of his eyes, Shiroe saw that he wasn't alone. Others were there, some awake and some still slumbering. Just what was going on? Was this even Elder Tales anymore? It was most certainly not the real world, the tactician was sure. "Why... are we here..." He said hoarsely, his throat dry and stiff from slumber. He needed to know exactly what was going on. "Does anyone know where we are..." He turned about to regard the others, inquiring those in similar straits.
Morito is also accepted.
Accepted!
Oh um, is this game closed then? It looked very interesting and I took too long and yeah. ^^.
@Avalant: Yes, yes it was.

And wow, that is a lot of suggestions. We are not going to run out of stuff at this rate. XD
