Ray initially didn't trust Shouta. He still needed to keep his head down, and if this guy's rumored Navy connections were even partially true, they should keep their distance. So when the Rookie Judge called for people to join him in song, he stayed back, refraining from the metaphorical and literal spotlight, despite the suggestion from the Captain otherwise. However, once he started berating the crowd for cowardice, something in what he said resounded with Ray. Hiding wasn't his forte after all, and he was infinitely better at getting into trouble than avoiding it. Why should he hide? Ray decided to show him up by hopping on stage and singing a jovial tune. He felt pretty swell bringing some life back into the seemingly dead tavern. Once he finished, he joined his companions who had crowded around the Rookie Judge. Now that the tavern had a bit of rowdy spirit again, he was in the mood to drink and snagged a pair of drinks from the bar, handing one to Luro.

Ray decided that Shouta definitely had a way about him that commanded respect, if not fear, something he could see even through Shouta's drunken stance. The things he said about his resistance to injury prompted Ray to laugh. However, the way he said them, Ray noticed, caused him to stifle his coming jibe on empty boasting. He wasn't sure about getting his name out into the world, but more money from well paying jobs could definitely be useful, not to mention the connections they would foster were the need to flee arise. He would go with whatever the captain said regardless; he could go either way.

Ahhh I want to know but I don't want to know, I'm torn here.

If you're ever going to play the game, its best to go in without spoilers (Bad enough that you go in knowing Jack becomes the big bad guy of BL2 and that Wilhelm and Nisha become his top Lieutenant and Girlfriend, respectively).

Also, Kill la Kill is awesome. It's very weird, but it's weird on purpose and that weirdness just adds to its charm. Throw in levels of awesome and you have a pretty great anime. Plus it has great music.

Also, I consulted wikipedia on that Graham Cracker fact, and it's mostly true, except possibly for the molestation part. Sylvester Graham, the food's creator, thought bland foods lessened libido, a belief shared by John Harvey Kellogg, the inventor of the 'corn flake'.
Thanks guys. Mostly we've been spending all day visiting my dad in the hospital. It takes all day because he's still in the CCU (Cardiac/Critical/Close/Whatever Care Unit, its like a step down from ICU) and in order to visit you have to ask via phone if its okay for people to come in and then only 2 at a time. However, as he's doing better, the doctors are soon planning on moving him to a standard room instead.

Also, on this note...

Then you can tell me more about the prequel once things settle.

...Don't tempt me. :D I've got plenty to say on that game. It may or may not include super-mega-spoilers.
So, my dad was hospitalized last Sunday, but his condition has improved since then. I'm fairly certain I'll be able to post this cycle.
Sorry, I can't post this cycle due to family emergency. Please feel free to move Ray along.
All my songs are from Assassin's Creed 4 (the one about pirates). The game had a bunch of (historical) songs and shanties that played when in taverns and while sailing, respectively. Someone pulled the audio files from the game and put them on youtube. I usually take the lyrics and rework them to fit the RP (because nations like England and France don't exist). Here are links to the tavern songs and the sea shanties.

In short, I'm a plagiarist, but since this is for fun and not money or important stuff, its okay.

I beat Borderlands 1.5 yesterday. Good game, but the ending is sequel bait of the worst kind and I'm feeling nitpicky with certain plot points, though that could be just my headcanon I was developing as I was playing or small details I missed and will need to replay the game to get.
Ray found the idea of a horseless carriage quite novel, even if it stank of engine smoke. However, Ray found the scent of smoke less offensive than the smell of horse dung, and whatever waste it made was simply dispelled straight into the air rather than into an unpleasant pile.

The Glimmering Tin Tavern was a sight dingier and grayer than Ray would have liked from a drink house. Taverns were supposed to be places of joviality but this place seemed like it was a place to drown in regret; there was nothing glimmering about the Glimmering Tin. Ray took a glass of juice that Nolan had bought for everyone, sipping it sourly. He figured he'd purchase one of their finer bottles of wine before they left, though he doubted they had anything of quality behind the bar.

hope any Canadians had a lovely thanksgiving weekend, as I'm not sure who else is down here in the great north with me, and Americans have a different weekend, right? o0o

Yeah, American Thanksgiving is Nov. 27th. Because 'murica.

I'm making a short post cuz I got Borderlands the Presequel today and I've been playing it for the past 8 hours, so I'm shot. I don't want to look at any more electronic screens today.

Also, Happy Birthday Fox! (It's your birthday?)
