Alice smiled at the boy "I think you're definitely right," she polished off the rest of her cereal and glanced back at Fire Girl. "She seems quite... burn happy." Alice whispered back to the boy next to her.

The Experiment

"Oooookay, good to know. Thanks." Alice smiled hesitantly and sat back to admire the colors around the people of the cafeteria. Most seemed relatively harmless, but several burned bright and slightly menacing, like the girl a chair down.

"So um, my name is Alice, and you guys are?" she asked.

I'd rather not get burned, figuratively and literally.

I'm a fake red head, don't worry. No competition with a girl who's hair comes out of a bottle. XD

"Umm yeah, I guess it's pretty cool." Alice smiled at the boys attempt at speaking a coherent sentence with his mouth full and looked over to a girl with flames creeping their way up her arm that just sat down a chair away.

"Um, not to point out the obvious, but you're on fire." Alice informed her, "So I'm assuming that's your power?"

Alice was deep in thought, gazing into her bowl like it held all the worlds answers so she didn't realize that a boy had approached her.

"M-my p-power?" she stuttered and cleared her throat, "Oh. My power. I can see everyone's aura like a colorful mist surrounding their bodies. You?" She couldn't believe that this conversation would qualify as her new "normal" conversation.
