You know, when I was a kid, I went to a different church than my sister. How the hell that happened I don't know if I can understand or ever remember. Apparently I was in a Catholic one and my sister went to? I don't know, she's much crazier than even I am these days, but she claims it was a Baptist school. 0_0I remember seeing a Vatican flag in my Church so I suppose it was a Catholic one. I remember Simon says, Jesus the loves the little Children, hang man, things like that, but . . . Everything was stupid. It wasn't really Church. I wasn't allowed to learn the Bible. We got to listen to them talk about the Bible as they read it at us, but then after we listened to them talk about the Bible, we did stupid things like eat lunch and talk about retarded things. There was a weird discipline problem, like every where. Catholic School was no different. When they told us we were supposed to do something and we did it, there was no telling what would happen next. I developed problems following instructions to the exact letter for the rest of my life because no one gave a damn whether I was obedient and did what people said or not, the result of following directions was sometimes the same as disobeying or even being wildly out of control . One time, there was this Nun who looked at the window and told me to come to the window and look outside. . . she pointed and was like "That's where all the bad people go". . . It was a small little shack. Not a shack in appearance, it looked more like a chapel , and was fancy, but it was more like a little structure capable of holding, one, two, or maybe even three rooms. The atmosphere was horrifying. Like they were trying to stick their spirit cock in my brain suck it out like a mosquito bite. And I'm often marked as the Fundie on three message boards, including this one.

But to be honest, I try to view it as a "cruel to be kind" thing whenever I'm a bit of a dick to them. I'm saving them (and us) from a whole lot of bullshit if I direct them somewhere they'll be more... appreciated. Meh.

Yes, but you presented yours in a reasonable and thought-out manner, explaining your feelings on the matter, not really seeming to take it to heart as some personal offence. Plus, all that was really said was "if you're offended by that you might not like it here" - but we already know you're fine here, so the point was somewhat moot for you.

I am being helpful. If something that mild winds them up then they'd just end up being abused by someone else in a far less straightforward and upfront manner. All I did was act as a signpost to point them towards a community they may well enjoy more than this one.

Or maybe I was (am) just in a bad mood and didn't want to be my usual totally-sweethearted self. It's a mystery.
