1. The easiest way to do this is simply the cosine rule:
a^2 = b^2 + c^2 - 2bccosA
= 2^2 + 1^2 - 2.2.1cos60
= 3
a = sqrt(3)

Another is to realise triangle ADE must be right-angled (according to my intuition, anyway, though I'd have to construct a proof to be sure - although the fact that Pythag works does prove it's right-angled anyway) and Pythagoras' Theorem can therefore be used: b^2 = c^2 - a^2 = 2^2 - 1^2 = 3 => b = sqrt(3).

EDIT: Presumably the "type" of triangle is scalene? It's neither equilateral or isosceles, so...

2. Drawing a line CO gives a triangle COB. CO splits the 60 degree angle BCA in half, making angle BCO 30 degrees, meaning angle CBO 30 degrees too, and angle COB 120 degrees.
Using the sine rule: 2/sin120 = BO/sin30 => BO = 2/sqrt(3) => BD = 4/sqrt(3) as BO is the radius and BD is the diameter.

3. Length DF is 1, which can be figured out either by realising that triangles AED and DFC are similar, meaning their proportions are the same, or by realising that EF acts as a diagonal for parallelogram BEDF and so BE = DF. Through similar logic it can be shown that angle EDF is 60 degrees.
Area of a triangle = 1/2.a.b.sinC = 1/2.2.1.sin60 = sqrt(3)/2 cm^2

I fucking hate geometry questions.
Can you not ask for an extension on your work considering the extenuating circumstances?

I didn't think you were seriously annoyed, but for you to even think to say something about it the thought process of "writing lots = bad" must have occurred. Look, people are gonna assume you're trying to make some sort of point when you say something. It's what we developed communication for, and even if someone is being sarcastic or satirical or ironic or whatever, they're still making some sort of relevant point. Otherwise every single one of your posts may as well just say "cheese". So, considering they don't just say "cheese", people will assume you're saying /something/ about the topic at hand. You can't expect people to treat every single one of your posts as devoid of any meaning whatsoever if what you're saying in it has reference to the topic at hand. Not treating something as serious is not the same as treating the post as a piece of utter randomness without any relevance whatsoever.
Plus you've been nippy as all-fuck lately and I wanted to make a point. Stahp. Contribute to discussion, that is the only purpose of a forum. Only posting things you desire people to ignore because they're non-relevant means you're just taking up server space. And having spoken to you before, I know you aren't a fucking idiot with nothing to contribute, and that when you actually try you can bring up some interesting stuff.

tl;dr: don't expect people to treat your posts as random if they reference the topic at hand, because "not taking seriously" =/= "treating as utterly irrelevant and random nonsense that has no relevance and thus no point". Also, stop with the nippiness.

who the fuck has a reason behind their avi?I go by Smiral because Nex made a typo and it stuck extremely hard.EDIT: also, holy shit, I want to yell at several people that have posted in this thread, the fuck you doing writing paragraphs

Explaining. Why do you expect people to have as little meaning in their username as you do? It's an identity; whether through design or coincidence, there's often a lot of meaning placed in a name. There doesn't have to be, but I fail to see your issue with it.
Read the whole book. It's pretty damn fucking terrible, and this is from someone who thinks Twilight is "mediocre" rather than an abomination as most see it.
And yes, you were just used. Many people find well-spoken English voices very attractive. I know from experience. >_>
And at tau (2pi) time ET, MIT are releasing their admissions decisions.
They told me this in an email entitled "Prepare for Pi(day)" along with a video of all the MIT bloggers being hit in the face with pies.
It was glorious.
Avatar/Signature because JLaw is freaking awesome. I really love some of the quotes from Silver Linings - they're pertinent to me and I connect to the characters a lot. I switch around though.

The name... well, it's a shortening of the horrific name I had on oldguild, which I created on a whim at the tender age of 13, "HaloAssault". Halo became a handle of mine, it's what I was known as. There's other reasons that I like the name, though, mainly to do with irony. I've been an emotional support for a massive number of people, through all sorts of rather difficult personal problems, across the world. At this stage, after several years of giving most of my free time to this purpose, it is perhaps my only significant defining quality outside of "lolgoodgrades". I've been described as a guardian angel more times than I'm comfortable with by some of those people. I couldn't have a more different view of myself, so Halo, by chance, ended up appealing to my sense of irony. There are numerous other reasons I stuck with this name, but I can't be bothered listing them all.

If you don't do that, it means you're not confident in your views.

You have absolutely no context for that statement - that being the point of this entire thread - so don't presume enough to comment.
