1. Noooo! The puns. They buuurn.2. Had my post practically finished. I leave the room to get a drink of water. And I come back to find SOMEONE had refreshed the page. So I shall start again and hopefully post tonight. (I swear, if I find out which of my sisters did this, there will be he'll to pay.)

Did you try and hit the 'back' button? I've done this before accidentally and when I tried to go back ,saw that somehow everything was saved.
Beep...Beep...Beep...
"U...Uh? What...What's that noise?"

Having drowned in an ocean of the abyssal, black void of unconsciousness, Kuhaku was finally breaching the surface of his 'slumber'. An odd, steady beeping sound being the method of his awakening. Eyes slowly opening, his vision was blurry and distorted at first. Blinking, he found himself staring at a ceiling.

"Wh-...where am I?"

In an attempt to sit up, he realized he was laying down. He also realized that he couldn't sit up, a shocking wave of disorientation rattling through his body as he tried. Okay, then. But, he could still look around. Looking around him with his hazel eyes, there was...a curtain surrounding him where he lay. Odd, what was that for? Looking to his right, he discovered what was making the beeping noise. It was a monitor or some sort, with a jagged line flashing across its screen. A heart monitor? What were those called, EKGs? Kuhaku frowned and took a breath when he heard a new sound as he did. A sort of wheezing/hissing sound. There was something on his face. Reaching up, he attempted to touch his cheek when instead of touching flesh, he felt cold, hard plastic. Blinking, he realized it was an oxygen mask. Why was he wearing an oxygen mask? Looking at his hand, he then noticed something odd clipped to one of his fingers that had a red glow to it and saw a cable leading from it and up to the heart monitor.

His heart rate rising, questions rapidly flooded his mind. Why was he on oxygen? Why was his heart being monitored? What else was he connected to? As the beeping from the heart monitor grew slightly quicker, he looked at both of his arms and was mortified to learn that his gloves were gone and replaced by white bandages. As he examined the bandages closer, he saw something in his elbow. Another long, clear tube. Touching it, he winced when he felt something sharp and metal in his arm. Tracing the tube, he saw it led to an IV drip that hung above his head. Panicking, his breathing grew more rapid. The heart monitor began beeping faster.

Moving his head, he looked down at himself and saw that he was laying in a hospital bed and that he was covered in uncomfortably warm sheets and blankets. Pulling them down slightly, he saw that his clothes were replaced by a set of white hospital pajamas. Where were his normal clothes? While at it, where were his weapons Kladenets and Perun? Panic rising, he turned his head and was slightly relieved to see that his clothes sat neatly folded in a chair to his left. His sword and shield set leaning against the same chair. Finding the strength to finally sit up, his head spun. Dizzy with questions.

What in the hell exactly happened to him? Where was he? Why was he connected to a heart monitor, IV drip, and oxygen mask? What was the last thing he remembered? He remembered flying into Beacon on an airship. A student orientation and address from the Headmaster Ozpin. That night everyone slept in the same room together. The...test. Wait, the test! What happened with the test? Did he not make it? Did he fail? What happened to him?

As he tried to force himself to remember, his head began to painfully ache. Frowning, he began to break out in a cold sweat as his panic and anxiety grew. Was he back at Beacon? In its Infirmary? Why can't he remember anything else? He felt alone, his fear began to setting. Pressing his hands against the sides of his head, and closing his eyes shut tightly, his breathing grew more and more rapid. The heart monitor's incessant beeping invaded his thoughts and only made things worse. He wanted to rip off all of the medical equipment and run.

He was scared. He was tired.
"S-...so...ti..red..."
Opening his eyes, he realized how heavy they were becoming.
Laying back down, he closed them sleepily.
Unable to process any further information, his mind and body began to shut down.
The heart monitor's beeping slowed.
Before long, the shackles and chains of his exhaustion snaked over his body and began to drag him down.
Dragging him down into the black ocean of his dreams.
Sleep bringing a temporary peace.
He looked up to keep an eye on the white-hair to make sure he wasn't up to any mischief. As he did, he saw the boy smile and bring a finger up to his lips. Was that a gesture that he would be quiet or was it aimed towards him? Before he could think of the gesture's potential meaning, the white-hair then vanished through the tree. A layer of ice left behind. Did the human think he was a fool? Black ears twitching and nose sniffing, he knew that the boy was still nearby. Whatever. Maybe the prior gesture was a sign he would leave them be. As he then resumed eye contact with Michelle, or at least tried to. She kept breaking away to look at the ground or elsewhere. It was a little annoying, to be honest. Was she sure that she was okay?

""I uh, I, I..." she stuttered out.
"Ihavetogodosomethingbye," she blurted out as she then dashed past him.

He blinked, unsure of what just happened. Kuhaku turned to watch as Michelle suddenly ran off, saying she had to go do something. Raising an eyebrow, he tilted his head curiously. What an odd girl. As she left his sight, the white-haired boy came up to his side. He suppressed a sigh and the urge to roll his eyes. His expression hardening, he glanced at the human boy from the side. What was he up to now?

"I'm sorry, it was probably my fault. I only wished to observe." the boy chuckled.
"Nosy." Kuhaku mentally responded.
Smiling, the boy continued.
"It was quite lovely though. I'm honestly envious of the bond you two have already."
Bond? What bond?

As the boy started to walk away, he placed his hand on Kuhaku's shoulder. Sending an electric jolt of revulsion through his spine and causing his tail to twitch. That was the second time today that someone physically touched him. He had half a mind to bite off the boy's hand.

"Good luck. I won't bother you anymore today after this."
"That's unfortunate, just for today?"
What did he mean by wishing him 'good luck'?
Whatever, at least the boy voiced a promise to leave him alone. If only for just today.
As the boy walked away, Kuhaku thought "Good riddance."

Sighing again, Kuhaku returned his mask to his face. As the mask clicked and locked, Kuhaku pulled out his scroll to check the time. Great. Time had flown by rather quickly from all of this. Well, there goes his nap. Irritated again, he decided to just head back to the main building to standby for the student orientation. Shoving his bandaged hands into his gauntlets, they also mechanically clicked a few times as they secured themselves to his arms. Clenching and unclenching his fists to make sure they fit correctly, he then began to stroll back to Beacon. His ears twitching and tail swaying restlessly, he mulled over the white-haired boy's words.

What did he mean by wishing him luck? What bond did he speak of?

Azzy needs one big hug.

I wouldn't recommend doing that.

Andrew would probably pass out if you so much as touched him. xD;

And here I thought about the shenanigans of her crushing on him. NVM

Asmodeus is just hungry, he's 'starved'.

Poor Andrew pays the price of that hunger.

Mai forever innocent. SORRY ASMODEUS.Wait a minute. What were you trying to do to my Miko.

Well, Asmodeus is weak due to Andrew being a prude. He just wanted to restore some of his power, is all.

By 'physically' interacting with others.

Hue.

Drat, that'll interfere with Asmodeus' aura. Damn you Sun God! -Shakes fist-
"I-I'm fine, I'm perfectly fine," she responded to his look of concern as she looked away for whatever reason.

Good, then. Kuhaku wouldn't have to resort to violent ways. As he backed away from the Faunus girl, he tilted his head slightly. Curiously, she kept giving him sidelong glances. Was there something wrong? Was there a bit of food left over on his face? Blinking, he looked down at himself and his hands to make sure. No, he didn't seem to have left a mess. He always had impeccable table manners. Then... what was it? The girl then cleared her throat, breaking his train of thought. Looking back up at her, he resumed his direct eye contact.

"I-I'm Michelle," she introduced herself, extending an oddly trembling hand to shake.
"How polite" he thought.
About to reach for her hand, he stopped himself.
Looking down at his menacing gauntlets, he figured it would be rude to return the lady's handshake with his weapons on.
Grabbing the sides of his gauntlets, he pressed some hidden mechanism and something audibly clicked as his weapons unlocked.
Removing them, he then attached them to his sides on his belt. Reaching up towards his face, he did the same for his mask.
Smiling, he took her hand with his own bandaged one and gently shook it.
"I'm Kuhaku. Kuhaku Kuroshi. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Michelle."

He always was a sucker for manners, even if he was ironically rude most of the time to other people. Thankfully, his parents had raised him to be a gentleman towards women and to be respectful of them. So, having encountered a courteous Faunus girl, it was enough to eek out quite a lengthy response from him. He only hoped the white-haired human boy would leave them alone as they exchanged pleasantries.
Kuhaku halted in his tracks as the cloaked female Faunus came between him and the white-hair with her hands raised.

"Woah woah, it's ok, t-there's no trouble here. He just came over t-t-to ap-pologize, t-that's all," she said, stammering for some reason.

As he had gotten closer to their position, he realized that the white-haired boy was merely conversing with the female Faunus. Once again, he had jumped to conclusions and let his emotions control him. Sighing, he willed himself to relax, to calm down. The Faunus girl seemed troubled and that troublesome white-hair was only curious as to what was bothering her. They were merely talking. Being friendly. Introducing themselves to one another. That's right. That's all it was. No one needed his aid.

Eyes snapping from the white-hair to the cloaked Faunus, his chest rose and fell as he silently sighed, exasperated. Looking at the female Faunus, he noticed that her face underneath her hood was rather... red. Was she okay? Leaning over slightly so that his face was closer to her's, with respect to her personal space, he tried to get a better look. It was most definitely very red. Had she gotten a fever? Frowning, his eyes stared at hers, asking a silent question.

"Are you okay?"

If she said 'No', Kuhaku would be quick to straighten out the white-hair if he did anything to her or was guilty of harassing her. He would not tolerate anyone demonstrating prejudice towards his own.
As he walked to where students were to return their used trays, plates and utensils he noticed the cloaked Faunus female from before quickly walking past him. Practically throwing her tray at the ever-growing stack of trays, she then sprinted out of the cafeteria. Stopping, he tilted his head curiously at her haste, raising an eyebrow. Did the food not sit well with her? Perhaps she had gotten sick from something. Odd. Shrugging, he resumed his walk. Standing in front of the proper receptacles, he returned everything to their proper place. Only hesitating when he held the cracked glass in his hand.

Sighing, he wondered if he let his anger get the better of him.

Maybe the white-haired boy wasn't mocking him and honestly just wanted to get to know him. There were humans who were friendly, if not indifferent, to Faunus after all. However, he couldn't bring himself to ever trust or befriend a human. He couldn't let himself become soft and weak like that. He'd rather confide in his Faunus comrades. At least they would have a better chance of understanding the pain he had gone through. Placing the damaged glass where it belonged, he made his way out of the cafeteria.

Whatever.
He couldn't understand why anyone in their right mind would think he would be a nice person to get along with anyways. Adjusting his jaw, he grabbed at his face mask absently.

As he wandered the halls of Beacon, now having left the cafeteria, he wondered what he should do next. There was still some time left before the opening ceremony. How much time though, he wondered. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his Scroll once again and opened it to observe the current time. Plenty of time left. Stretching his arms upward, he figured he might as well take a nap after having eaten. The weather was nice out after all. Leaving the main building of Beacon, he entered the courtyard that the new students had passed on their way in. Looking up at the blue sky above, he smiled a little. His smile hidden by his mask. Outside, it was much quieter and peaceful, with most of the student body inside and eating. He felt the built up tension from earlier slowly slipping away as he strolled, his head clearing.

Now, which bench or tree to pick for a quick nap?

As he stopped and his blue eyes scanned for the shade of a comfortable tree to nap under, that's when he saw her again. The cloaked female Faunus from before. She was oddly rocking back and forth for some reason. Almost curled into a tight ball with her hands on her head. Was she okay? Kuhaku didn't think the food here at Beacon was that bad. Maybe she had gotten sick after all. That was when Kuhaku noticed him. The white-hair boy was standing, leaning against the side of the tree that she was under. Was he troubling her? This kid just seemed to have a thing with bothering Faunus. Clenching his fists tightly, he glared at the white-haired boy from across the school grounds, a growl rising in his throat again. With his ears up and back, he had just about enough of this human. He would not tolerate another Faunus being harassed. Feeling his stress returning, he began to storm towards the two. He contemplated ripping a bench or tree up to smash into the white-haired boy. Maybe then he would get the message that Kuhaku wanted nothing to do with him.

Not even see him.
