Just as he was about to lose his grip and fall over the edge of the chasm another human student had noticed him and ran over. Immediately activating whatever his Semblance's ability was to grab onto his arms and pulled him to safety. With his body laying safely on terra firma, he scrambled further away from the edge and remained a tired heap on the ground. Refusing to look up at his savior, he was somewhat relieved when the student said nothing and walked away. His shame from having been saved and by a human no less didn't dare allow him to look up at who it was that rescued him. He had to recover his wounded pride and confidence.

Forcing himself off of the ground, he stood as straight and as tall as he could. Head swimming slightly, his first few steps were careful but he still managed to stumble a bit. He wasn't sure if he had the energy to even walk at this point but he refused to be carried or assisted onboard the drop-ship that had arrived. Once sure of himself and completely ignoring the other students, he walked up to the dropship with his head and eyes straight and forward. As he walked by the Headmaster Ozpin, he heard mention of a student having died and another being expelled in passing. At least he wasn't in their position. Thinking about it, who exactly was it that had blasted him away from the Arachnid? Ultimately whoever did so saved his life from one predicament only to throw him into another. Though, he probably could've just fired a Chained Spike and launched himself out of its path to safety. Probably.

Whatever, that was for another day. He didn't have any interest in investigating any further right now. He took his seat in a corner on the drop-ship and huddled as comfortably and as tightly as he could against it. Closing his eyes, he decided that a little nap would be the best for now. He'll have the medical staff look him over at another time. All he wished for at this moment was just to be left alone to mope and sulk.
Eyes fluttering open, Kuhaku was slowly returning from unconsciousness. Eventually becoming fully awake and aware of his surroundings, he blinked upon realizing he was once again on the ground. Arms trembling as he pushed his body off of the ground he placed a hand on his pounding, aching head. Shaking his head, he immediately regretted doing so. Hit with a sudden bout of nausea, the world around him spun wildly and he nearly emptied his stomach on the ground in front of him. Dizzy, his vision eventually stabilized and he stared at the ground. What the hell had happened to him? It was then he noticed a few drops of blood spattering in the dirt. Blinking, he sat as he touched the back of his head. Wincing, he pulled his hand away and looked at it. It was covered in blood. Turning in his seat, he looked behind him and saw that a tree directly behind him had a blood stain on it. Closing his eyes tightly, he struggled to recollect his thoughts.

He remembered walking through the forest with his new human partner. He remembered coming out of the treeline and locating the other Beacon Students. He remembered that he and his human partner were the last ones to arrive. The human waved at them as he ran up and grabbed the last relic they were supposed to have retrieved. Then what? His head throbbed as he tried to drudge his memories back from the inky, black abyss. The Grimm. That's right. Three...was it three? Three Grimm appeared. A large spider-like Grimm had grabbed one of the students and dragged him over the edge. Two snake-like Grimm slithered from the forest next. No, it was four. They were two-headed King Taijitu. One of King Taijitu swept at them. He remembered that he was still too weary from his previous encounter with the Grimm, his reflexes were dulled. He was not fast enough to dodge the sweeping attack. The rest was murky and vague. He remembered images of the other students fighting against the large Grimm...

Opening his eyes, he looked again at the tree behind him and deduced what had happened. He was too slow and was took the King Taijitu's sweep attack, being thrown into a tree. He must've hit the back of his head against it hard enough to flick his 'Off' switch. Lights out for him. That explained why it was hard to breathe and his ribs hurt. He probably cracked a few or bruised some at the very least.

Absolutely wonderful, he had arrived only to completely miss out on an important battle. Who was he kidding though? He was in no shape to continue fighting and probably would've just hindered the other students. If he had a choice, he would've probably hid and took the time to rest and heal while the others fought. Neither situation would've earned him any favorable opinions. Not that he cared. He couldn't get over his pathetic feelings of helplessness and worthlessness, however. Whatever, this was a test. They were new students. They had plenty of time to make mistakes and to learn. The harsh lesson he learned would only be one of many. He would have to keep in mind to not be overzealous and so enthusiastic to play the 'hero' again in the future. What came over him when he ran into his human partner, anyways? He didn't know. His head hurt. He just knew to avoid coming into contact with large amounts of Grimm again.

Looking around, he saw the two King Taijitu had died and gone. Though the fight wasn't over yet, it seemed. It was then he noticed the large Arachnid Grimm had launched itself into the air, a student still on its back. His senses hadn't completely recuperated yet so he couldn't pinpoint who it was. It looked like the Grimm was on its last legs and wanted to take out as many of them as it could when it landed. Crushing them all.

Wait.
He would be in its path.
He would be one of the few crushed underneath.
"Damn it." he sighed underneath his mask.

It was then that he was hit with a sudden gust of focused wind. The concussive blast strong enough to lift his body off of the ground and send him flying away. Away from where the Arachnid Grimm would land, but dangerously close to the edge of the chasm. As his body slid and skidded along the dirt, he became disoriented from the blast as he neared the precarious edge of the chasm. Panicking, he dug his claws into the ground as his lower body swung off of the side. Eyes wide, he panted heavily. Looking over his shoulder, he saw how far from the ground he would land if he slipped. Big mistake. Shutting his eyes, he quickly turned away. He was terrified of extreme heights, especially ones that could kill him.

His eyes snapped open as he felt his body start to slide and give way. Struggling, he tried to muster his strength to pull himself up. But, as he tried to pull himself up, he only slid more over the edge. His energy was drained from having fought so many Grimm earlier, even more so after becoming close friends with the King Taijitu's sweeping head. It wasn't looking good for him. The first test of his abilities and he had been knocked unconscious twice today, now about to die from being too ignorant to conserve his energy and think things through. What the hell was he doing? What happened to him being calm, cool and collected? To carefully thinking and planning things through?

As beads of sweat rolled down his face, he frantically thought of how he could save himself. The only thing coming into mind was to free one of his hands and punch out with a Chained Spike and to let the winch pull him to safety. But, that required him to let one of his hands go. Trying it, he slackened his grip on one of his hands slightly and quickly tightened it as his body jerked further over the edge. Closing his eyes tightly, his chest tight and breathing difficult and painful, he couldn't do it.

"A-am I going to die...here? Like this?..."
He was scared.

The facade he put up in front of others quickly melted away. He wasn't as cold, harsh and indifferent as he seemed in this perilous moment. Rather, he was probably one of the most vulnerable one out of the other students. And he hated himself for it. Sliding still, his eyes remained shut. Refusing to accept the way things were happening. Refusing to acknowledge that his life could very well end right now just like this. What could he do? Maybe push himself off of the edge and fire his spikes into the cliff face? But, his spikes weren't strong enough to punch into sheer rock were they? He didn't know. He didn't want to try it. His body trembled from his strength draining and from his terror. His ears flattened against his head.

He was scared.
Let's keep this alive and going.
Marianne watched with a curious expression as the amulet floated towards her. Still listening intently to the Royal Court's words, she held out both of her cupped hands to accept the amulet. Running her fingers over its design, she admired the object with a sense of wonder. This would be their symbol, bestowed upon them by the Crown as covert agents. Slipping the amulet over her wrist, she slid her sleeve over it to conceal it. Staring at the wood of the table in front of her, her thoughts began to trail off.

This was it. This was her chance to prove herself to the Crown and to the Delacroix family. As her chest swelled with excitement, a bright smile crept across her face. With this, she can finally fulfill her dream of nobly serving her country and add to the wonderful, colorful history of the Delacroix's. Eyes glistening, she looked up at the Royal Court momentarily before looking around the room. The other mages had accepted their amulets to varying degrees. It appeared that not many of the other mages held a favorable or any sort of opinion at all, some even responding rather negatively towards the Court's words. Frowning, she didn't quite understand why they didn't seem to share her enthusiasm.

Well, each of them were entitled to their own opinion. They had their reasons, she had her's. These other mages would eventually become her companions and comrades, though. Her heart nearly breaking when one of the mages requested the safe recovery of her family as payment for the completion of their assignment. Marianne didn't know what she would do if she lost her two older brothers and parents. Her heart went out to the mage.

Unable to contain her emotion much longer, she slammed her palms on the wooden table loudly and leaned in closely towards the court. Her eyes were practically sparkling. She was eager to prove herself to her family, Crown, and country. The feelings of Pride, valor, honor, and courage surging through her spirit. It showed too, her body becoming electrically charged. Little arcs of static electricity crackled over her and jumped to anything close enough. Comedically adding to her rather manic expression, her black hair even started to become frizzy.

"My blade remains for ze Crown and Country! 'Ow soon can we start? When can we leave?"
A wall clock ticking quietly somewhere within the infirmary, Shiro and Bridgett seemed to be the only ones present. Save for a few other students whose initiation wasn't kind to them. Looking himself over once again and making sure he had all of his things, he turned to Bridgett and flashed her a bright smile. Dismissing the fact that her normal clothes were unwearable and destroyed. Again, he held no shame in walking around half-naked or possibly even naked.

"Shall we go to our room?"
He figured the other two would eventually arrive at their assigned dorm.
He hoped a bit later so he could call dibs on his preferred bed/spot.
With a certain swagger to his step, he strutted on out of the infirmary.
As he walked out, a nurse attempted to stop him.
"Sir! You can't leave, you weren't discharged yet!"
He waved her off as he continued to walk, tracing Abel's scent to what he assumed would be their dorm.
"Aww, it's okay. I'll just discharge myself!" He grinned.
The nurse wanted to say more, but her words died on her tongue.
Humming happily, he continued to follow Abel's scent. He wondered how his 'other self' was before his 'Reset'. He would have to ask the others about it.
I'm still present.

Excuse my absence, life/work has been hectic hell.
I've posted.
"...And finally Marianne Delacroix, with whom we are all familiar."Lady Ophelia said, introducing her to the rest of the mages.
"It's an honor to have you with us again, Lady Delacroix." Queen Aria said, smiling.
Giggling quietly, she returned the Queen's smile.
"Ze 'onor is all mine, Queen Aria." she said as she bowed her head slightly toward the Royal Court. Her black hair cascading over her shoulder as she did.

Curiosity getting the better of her, she turned in her seat to examine the other occupants in the room. Her dark-brown eyes slowly scanning, she gave each person a few seconds of her attention in an attempt to pinpoint their School of Magic. She had arrived before a few of the other mages and sadly missed their introduction. But, she had the feeling she would get to know the others some time very soon.

Eyes first falling on a young girl with a rather large hammer falling asleep at the far end of the table she tapped on her chin with a finger. She felt she knew the young mage from somewhere but couldn't place exactly how she knew her. Shrugging absently, she continued. [Fiona]

Turning next to the troublesome mage with the two ghastly guards, she immediately determined him to be a Necromancer. The mage dismissed his two guards. Already he was causing issues with the Royal Court seeming to have gotten into a disagreement with Lady Ophelia. [Damien]

Next was the blind Mage who spoke with an accent she wasn't familiar with. It was hard for her to understand what he was exactly saying. He seemed to have an obsession with touching and feeling things. Taking note as he leaned against a wall, she would have to remember to avoid him. Or at least give him a few meters distance. [Khor]

Standing in a spot that held a clear view of the entire room and the exit was another young woman. Her clothing was unlike anything Marianne had ever seen. The women didn't seem to speak much, then again not many of them did. [Elzbeth]

Eying a rather nervous looking and fidgeting woman with her hair tied up in a bun, she took note of her plain appearance. This wild cast of characters appeared to have each come from drastically different backgrounds. Everyone seemed to be anxious and quiet, save for a few of the other Mages. What exactly was going on? Each of the Mages appeared to be from different schools of Magic. What exactly is the Royal Court up to? [Mia]

Turning next to a 'feathered-man' whose eyes were firmly trained on the ground, her eyes couldn't help but brighten and she smiled in awe. The man picking feathers from his body seemed to be Druid. His body also unlike anything she had seen before, she grew excited. He seemed incredibly interesting to her. Though he seemed to be trying his best to just ignore all of them. [Rai]

A man in worn and ragged looking garments then barged into the room, a rather large book slung over his back. He expressed his concern for being late and introduced himself as the keeper of the grand library of the city. He seemed rather clumsy/silly/goofy man, she couldn't help but giggle at him. Yet he appeared to be knowledgeable at the same time. Those of high intellect usually did have a certain level of klutz and clutter about them. [Marcus]

Finally, following closely after one another, two others entered the room. A rather confused and angry woman came in, immediately taking a spot against the wall to scowl at them all. [Eyrie] After her, a happy and ephemeral man walked straight to the nearest window. Passing right through solid objects and other people in the room as he walked, he perched on the windowsill as he continued to smile disturbingly in silence. His teeth white and gleaming. [Sebastian]

Frowning, she turned straight forward to face the king and placed her hands on the table. Looking at the large map once again, she decided that she was patient enough up until this point and cleared her throat.
"Ahem. Je m'excuse. Your Ma-jes-ty? If I may 'ave per-mission to speak?"
She quickly looked around the room once more before continuing.
"I am sure zis question is up-on every-one's mind. But, why 'ave you gathered mages from nearly every school 'ere?"
Tapping a finger on the large map on the table, she pressed on. Her eyes staring hard at the King.
"Does zis 'ave any-zing to do wis zis map? I 'ave 'eard rumors regard-ing ze state of ze Kingdom from ze rest of ze Delacroix family...
She paused, looking to the other members of the Royal Court
"What I 'ave 'eard is very dark. C'est tres mal. Does zis gather-ing 'ave any-thing to do wis zat? Why 'ave you gathered us 'ere?" she asked again.
Her brow heavy with concern. Exactly what was going on that was so grave that the king needed to secretly gather mages from the various different Schools?
"Rely?" Abel questioned, breaking the silence of the room.
"Don't know. But I'll try." he then paused briefly.
"I'm not one for big introductions, but now looks like a good time. My name is Abel Fulgurate. I come from the edge of the kingdom, where I served as a guard along the walls as my family has done for generations. I learned how to fight at a little place called Pallisade, but I've never done more than protect mankind when the Grimm comes calling. I'm hear to learn how to hunt them down and destroy them, so I can live in peace." As he finished his introduction, he uncrossed his arms and leaned against a cabinet.

Bringing his hand up to awkwardly scratch at his head and ears, he gave a nervous smile.
"Ah, well nice to meet you Abel Fulgurate. That's a pretty noble cause for becoming a Hunter. Myself, though I don't quite remember where I was raised, I'm here to help restore relations between Humans and Faunus. To become a great Faunus Hunter and set the example for other Faunus. To help establish a better world for the future generations against a more relevant and imposing threat. The Grimm, of course. Ha ha.." his face flushed red as he explained his reasoning for becoming a Hunter.

Looking at the ditch of his elbow, he saw that he was still connected to the medical equipment. Shrugging, he honestly felt fine now. Though with obvious mental/psychological damage, his Aura had repaired and healed his physical body rather quickly. Ripping off the IV and heart rate monitor, he threw the sheets off of his lower body and swung his legs over the side. The heart rate monitor annoyingly screeched at him, flatlining. Irritated, he quickly turned off the machine. Standing for a few seconds, he made sure that his body was strong enough to support movement. Smiling in satisfaction, he walked over to his folded clothes and began to undress. Pulling the hospital pajamas off, he completely disregarded the fact that Bridget may see him. He still had his boxers on, he had no shame. Tossing the pajamas on the hospital bed, he unfolded his clothes and pulled them on.

Within a few minutes, he was fully dressed. Boots tied, gloves pulled on, and his hooded cowl/shawl over his shoulders. Looking himself over, he turned to Abel and gave him a smile.
"So, since we're now officially part of a team. Shall we go fetch that other Faunus...uhh..." he looked at the ground as he searched his memory for a name. He failed.
Shaking his head, he continued
"I forget his name. Whatever. Shall we go fetch him and see about our room? We were given a room now, right?"
Grinning, he grabbed his weapons and slung them on his back. Looking himself over for a second time, he realized that whoever folded his clothes for him also washed them.
"Gotta grab my things and start unpacking. Can't wait to get settled and start exploring the Academy and city!.."
He placed his hands on his hips, excited to get started with his schooling and training.

We've already waited so long just for everyone to get to the building. :( I'd rather not delay any longer, otherwise even more people might leave. I really will be moving this along in short order, I just hate double posting with a passion, even by me. *sighs*

Alright, well I've already said I'll be doing the post to acknowledge everyone in the room. So, expect that shortly.
