BACKGROUND: Miss Boateng was in her final year studying biochemistry at the University of Valhalla whilst living with her father, Gabriel, when the crates fell on the city. Her mother had left to begin a new family when Miss Boateng was eleven years old, and the two became estranged. Miss Boateng does not know where her mother lives or if she is, in fact, still alive. A once vibrant member of the community, Miss Boateng had a wide circle of friends and volunteered for a number of local charities, as well as being a member of the University cross country running team (before the incident).
