I'm wanting to join the RP but I'm torn between what type of character to make. I'm deciding if a voodoo-like character or a character that can manipulate the senses work better with the team. ><

Calvin began to become a little uneasy as more people started to pile up into the room below the building. One by one, people who appeared to have abilities began to enter. One who could produce candy was quite interesting. This was the first time Calvin was exposed to others like him and it was a bit overwhelming initially. With all of them having special abilities, it was obvious why they were all gathered here. He just wondered how the person who contacted him even knew who he was. He wasn't a native hero and was an army brat most of his life before joining the service. Either way, he was honored to be a part of this.
After the man in front of the room spoke, he wanted to ask some questions; however he chose to keep silent like he had been since he got there. He ran his fingers through his brunette hair which had been styled up. He scratched his facial hair which had been growing out for a couple of weeks. Calvin normally shaved, but decided to keep the stubble since people told him he looked good with it. After looking around, he heard a female voice interject who went by the name "Captain." When she finished her speech, a rush of adrenaline pumped through his system; not of fear but of excitement. Now instead of using his abilities for government shit and being poked with needles, he can make a difference.
"I just want to know when I get to blow something up," he said finally.
The bus came to a halt at it's designated stop at the corner of 5th and Main. Street venders and tourists littered the streets of the major city as Calvin stepped out of the bus and into the crowd of people where he seemed easy to blend in. Police cars and fire trucks rushed passed them instantly, their horns blaring down the street. In a city as large as this, crime was everywhere and even more that villains are laying claim to the Big Apple. Even though heroism was new to Calvin, saving people's lives was not. He was inspired to follow suit of all the famous heroes he had seen on TV growing up as a small child.
He looked down at the crumpled up paper he took out of his pocket and looked at the address that was scribbled along with a note. The handwriting was barely legible as he scanned it. Stuffing it back into his pocket, Calvin hoisted his duffle bag over his shoulder and made his way through the crowd of people looking at a breaking news in the window of a television store. After a couple of hours Calvin seemed to arrive at the spot that he was told to meet at. The building was really run down and looks to have been abandoned for some time. He sighed heavily and walked inside cautiously, scanning the dark room.
"Hello?" All Calvin could hear was his echo that reverberated around the abandoned lobby. Straight in front of him a stair case that lead down caught his attention, not to mention the voices that came from below. Squeezing the handle to his bag nervously, he descended down the stairs and into another room where cavernous halls filled the area. Down the hall, he noticed that people were already starting to gather. He trudged closer at the group that was forming.

_Explosion Touch_ – Calvin has the mutant ability to produce spontaneous combustion upon tactile contact. The user can cause anything or anyone to explode when the user touches them or they touch the user. Because the object becomes the bomb when touched instead of being struck by an explosion, this ability cannot be blocked by physical barriers. Calvin is able to detonate his bombs at will and control the intensity. They range from snap rocks to average c-4 plastic explosives. Anything higher takes more energy.
_Bomb Specialist_ – Trained by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Calvin is an expert at defusing bombs. This also comes with military training.

**Personality:**
Growing up in the military with his family, Calvin always had a serious demeanor about him. But after getting out and getting to know the world, he’s loosened up and is pretty outgoing. He has a sarcastic wit to him that makes him comical and often the one that breaks the ice in awkward situations. Calvin is very cunning and intelligent with great problem solving skills. He can get himself out of any situation if he put his mind to it. He is a master of “throwing shade” and is known for having rapid fire comebacks.
**Weakness:**
- The bigger the explosion, the more explosive energy it takes. With that said, the size of the explosion typically varies with the object touched.
- When Calvin dies, his body will self-detonate like a bomb and will explode the size of a nuclear bomb.

**History:**
Calvin grew up as an army brat, living with his family on base most of his life. His dad was a sergeant for the US military as a bombs specialist (EOD, Explosive Ordnance Disposal). He pretty much learned everything his dad did even though he wasn’t technically in the military. When Calvin hit puberty, his mutant abilities began to manifest. At first, they were hard to control and made it difficult to touch anything or anyone. Having the scientific resources, his dad helped him control his powers with government assistance. The military saw this as the next step to creating advanced war weapons. When he turned 18, he was drafted into the army and was used for war.
Calvin felt this feeling that people weren’t being genuine with him; as if they were using him. When Calvin turned 21, he left the army with an honorable discharge and went in search of himself. During that time, he discovered his sexuality and came out to his family. They didn’t really understand it at first but soon came around. Within the last few years, Calvin became aware of the rapid villain increase in the country and the dwindling of superheroes. He moved to New York soon after to make a difference.

This typically creates a massive shockwave, damaging and/or disorientating all within his line-of-fire, causing objects to shatter or crumble and also using it to create earthquakes. When used against objects with a larger surface, the effects are much like an earthquake. His powers affect organic objects in much the same way as inorganic ones. Rictor is immune to his own vibrations. His hands give off a bright blue light upon impact with each other.
_Enhanced Strength_ – Rictor has superhuman strength allowing him to lift about the size of a pick-up truck. He can also channel his strength to his legs allowing him to leap yards at a time.
_Enhanced Durability & Endurance_ – Via Enhanced Strength, Rictor possesses a high degree of durability, protecting him against most damage and impacts. His endurance is higher than most humans.
_Telepathic Immunity_ – Rictor is immune to most psychic intrusions and manipulations. Even someone as the likes of Jean Grey or Professor Xavier have trouble getting past his mental blocks. (Develops later)

**Background:**
Rictor was born in Mexico to Mexican parents, but soon relocated to San Francisco after he was born. His parents tried to raise him to have a normal childhood; mainly to keep what his father did a secret. His father was a part of the cartel and did illegal activities involving drugs and weapons. Oblivious to this, he went on to have a normal life of friends and school.
When he was old enough to find out, it had been too late. He had spent time in jail with his father for illegal gun smuggling. Rictor was forced to watch his father's murder during a deal gone bad by an opposing gang. When his mutant seismic powers manifested, he accidentally destroyed three city blocks. This brought Rictor to the attention of an anti-mutant group. They gave him the name "Rictor", explained to him his mutation, tortured him and attempted to force Rictor into using his seismic powers to destroy San Francisco. Thankfully, Rictor was saved by the X-Men and was asked to join them in their fight to stop anti-mutant sentiments.
**Additional notes:**
- Rictor is openly gay. He’s been with women in the past but felt like it was wrong. When he came to terms with it, he admitted that he felt pressure to date women because of society’s standards.
- Rictor’s powers have been altered a bit to have a bit of his and Arclight’s. I changed it a little since both cannon characters have similar abilities; the strength part coming from Arclight (if this is okay).
> Forgot to add Pixie into the group but she is now, also Rictor is accepted as I don't mind merging too similarly powered people together. If someone does come in wanting Arclight though, we may need to come up with a compromise. But I'm fairly certain the odds of that aren't good.
