I've been checking the OOC all day long every like 10 minutes. Swashbuckling, adventurous and very, very greedy Marren is the embodiment of the Ari free spirit. He lives for the moment, a freebooter with no sense of responsibility and never really thinking past the next day. This does however make him a less than desirable companion because one can never trust his motives and intentions, nor his reliability.

Marren was born a bastard and a slave. It was a grand start at life but he had the advantage of a more than decent father who taught him how to survive and instilled within him a stubborn spirit. His mother was the wife of a Merchant Prince and his father a slave. He would have followed in his father's footsteps were fate not so fortuitous, nor his mother merciful when she bought him into her service.
She was a cold woman and though Marren had been told of his birth she was not a mother in the convenient sense. However she was never cruel and he lived a life of relative luxury, for a slave anyway. They regarded each other as it was, she the master and he the slave. It would not be long however when fortune once again plucked his strings.
His mother was a ruthless merchant in her own right and fabulously wealthy. One day her ambition and greed overcame what love she had for her husband and she called upon Marren to murder him. With little choice and even less incentive to say no he did so, smothering him at the dead of night as his mother watched. After his death all his wordy possessions, through a very convenient will, were passed to his mother and she became one of the most formidable women within Ari and assumed the title of a Merchant Prince.
Their relationship changed after that. Though it was far too late for either of them to play the role of a loving family, nor were they particularly suited for it, they had a new sense of respect and love for each other. It was never an overt thing and certainly was never shown in public but it was no longer the matter of a master and slave. Both figuratively and literally as Marren was freed to live his own life though he never strayed too far from his mother's presence.
He joined the infamous Red Corsairs to sail the high seas and make plunder and profit as was always his wish. He found this freedom almost intoxicating and became an adventurer to see the lands, plus make a name for himself and even more importantly; riches.
I will put up the appearance once Guold Wars 2 finishes installing months of patches....

Yes, way way back! I actually got word from Negativeapex and Driananium that you guys were thinking about reviving the RP, so I really wanted to join back with it. I started rereading the RP and actually just finished before it was lost. So I have a pretty fresh memory of everything. Thankfully you guys didn't kill my character or write her out. She wasn't really talked about any after the shipwreck landed us on the island and every one had bedded down. Pre-Pirate attack. So after I see the first post and can get a feel of where we're starting from I know I can work her in somehow.She was my favorite RP-character ever, so I would love to continue on with her. I'll have her character sheet up as soon as possible. And Twinkle, if you would like me to PM you my first post for approval of whatever way I manage to throw her back into things, I have no problem with doing that.I'm so excited!!
