"Assassin." Death said, without pausing. An old man appeared beside her, matching her pace. "You called me, Master?" "I did. Do you know any stories of mazes such as this?" "Indeed. Even in my day, the tale of Theseus and his adventures within the Labyrinth were legend." "Tell me the story of the Labyrinth." Death requested. Assassin stroked his beard. "Well, it began with Theseus. He wanted to go into the maze, to kill the Minotaur and put an end to Crete's reign of terror over Athens. However, he had no way of finding his way out again. So, he sought out the help of the king's daughter, Ariadne, who gave him a ball of magic string..." As the Servant told his tale, a ball fo twine appeared in Death's hand. Tying the end in a loop around her wrist, she tossed it ahead of the party, were it began to roll away on its own. Death infused Assassin's tale with her magic. A maze like this could have no way out, but between Assassin's story and her own abilities now an exit, an end to the maze, would have to exist. _________ "You know." Jacob said. "I am part of Rhea. I couldprobably pass a message on if we get out of this alive."
Whoops. Sorry Vincent. I could only really remember that his name started with V, so I guess I must have confused him with Victoria a bit. Death is gonna bring the pain. :)
Death smiled as the labyrinth tried to resist her power. The power of Death, born from the Skull of Entropy was mighty indeed, but it was pitiful compared to the true power at her command. Existence, and Oblivion. Her two origins, one her own, wrought from her defiance of the world that would deny her the right to be, the other from the girl her spirit inhabited. At first glance, they would seem to contradict each other, such polar opposites that one owuld think they would annihilate the other, like matter and anti-matter. But that was not the case. At its core, her original Existence origin reinforced, defined, and empowered, guarding that which it infused against forces that would deny, negate, or destroy it. Combined with Oblivion, it gave her magic the ability to enforce one of the greatest universal laws: the inevitablity of death, the coming of the end to all things. There are exactly three certainties in life: Death, Taxes, and Alysis Woe. And Death had spent time as a member of the IRS as a cover identity once while in the States. Death's magic bored through the labyrinth, and strode inside, her companions at her back. Her Existence called out to a like Existence, and followed the call to her prey. _______________ The Assassins maintained their barrage, while Victoria giddily followed Death, the original Assassin and two of his copies followed invisibly. The Gentleman was some boring shit, but this bitch? Now she was interesting! _______________ Alysis felt pull, no , more of a resonance, growing steadily stronger. She'd first felt it the moment she'd laid eyes on Death. With the revelation of War and Vincent...she had her suspicions, but didn't really know how to feel about them if they were true. On one hand, when she got older she was, admittedly probably, going to be a total badass. On the other hand, a far more powerful version of her was coming to kill them, and Alysis doubted that she would have changed enough to leave off her rings when it came time to smack a bitch. "Guys." she spoke up. "I think we're about to have company, and I doubt they're coming for tea." "Lovely." Jacob sighed, shaking his head. "I should have followed Allen's example and just stayed home." Berserker patted his head.
Who's Eliza again? And yes, send it over. If fortune holds I'll whip up a post before homework time.
Am I allowed to take control of Death?
I think I should have time this week, later today even if my luck holds out. Gonna have to think about what to do for a Alysis/Death confrontation, though. Coming in with no brakes on the rape train is definitely something Alysis would do to herself, if only so that her other self could help her break free of the Gentleman's control. And its not like Assassin has given up either. But a daily life arc is definitely something we should do after this. Edit: Just realized that I totally forgot about Jacob. I'll have factor in what he's doing too.
So that was a climatic success of a goal achievement. /sarcasm Fucking essays.
Sorry I haven't been around guys. Last couple weeks were busy and it sort of killed my desire to RP. I'm going to work on fixing that this week.
Not really, no. I could have totally used one of the school computers, but it crashed so utterly that I couldn't summon the will to hunt down my RPs without bookmarks. Its only because I use Chrome and the data apparently carries that I haven't lost everything that was on it.
Unfortunately for the champions of Hel and Isis, Assassin had been on higher ground when the walls went up. If he was within the maze, then it was not trapped within the walls. Victoria sniffed at Claudia. "The Gentleman healed Assassin and gave me this bitching axe. YOU, on the other hand, are still boring until proven fun. No way am I lending you one of my toys. Besides, I do in fact, have a better idea." At Victoria's mental command, Assassin spoke. "Go." he said, and his copies streamed forward, leaping and running across the walls, invisible. More split off from the main Assassin, who remained stationary. They searched from a top the walls for their quarry, and once they'd found it, word quickly spread amongst them. Once the Assassin's had gathered, a few leapt down into the Labyrinth itself, while the rest began tossing anti-personnel grenades down upon the gathered Master's and Servants.
