Honestly Dot, it wouldn't matter if you were holding things up 'again' (though you're not), because frankly RP's just not that important in the face of someone really passing away. Even if it doesn't affect you personally, it's certainly going to affect the ones you love, so take the time you need to be with them as best you can *hugs*
I think I can speak for most everyone here Dot - and I will anyway, and if they don't like it we can have words later: you don't have a reason in the world to hide a single word under a hider. You're a fantastic writer, and reading your posts - no matter their length - is NEVER a chore, not ever. So don't put a hider on a single thing there, not for us! Everyone knows your portion is by necessity going to be disconnected from what's going on in the grand room, so it's perfectly understandable if your post doesn't mesh perfectly in relation to ongoing drama in the grand room at all.

And great post Panda, so glad you were able to meld just finding us again with a wonderful reason for Jay-Jay and the demoness to roll into the midst of everything that's gone on.
Okie doke, so everyone back on the road, back to the caravan, and please do feel free to move directly there. I couldn't basically have Eri toss Floure over his shoulder and get her out of there without godmodding (a deadly sin, I'm fair convinced), but we really are supposed to be moving this onward toward the endgame here, before Lil has to start her own school this week.

And hoping all things work out for your school as well, Dreaming!
"You're right love, we will... We will... " Edimér rocked Chavi in his arms, grateful to all the kind ancestors to have something to do, something that felt right and useful while Navid worked his own amazing brand of magic over Abe's too-still body. He was damn near tempted to burst into grateful tears himself when he saw Abe's throat move, the dawning realization his 'father' really was alive as Chavi had insisted, but his arms were full of lovely Fae, and there was no time to spare if they were going to return Drust to their family.

Carefully he released Chavi, kissing her sweet plump cheeks, a tender thumb to wipe away her tears, and then he was swiftly beside Vandilo, helping to raise the man up over gentle Hibo's back. "To the camp it is," he said grimly, a long, slow, frustrated sigh escaping his chest. "No one can properly tend to Abe, and he can't rest, not in the forest."

Eri's gaze rested momentarily on Navid, and then Myra, a grim smile for the miraculous man and the woman whose very life was a miracle, before his eyes moved once more back to Vandilo. "And we can't make plans to bring our brother home, until we can gather ourselves, all our people - and then whatever else we'll need."

The young man glanced toward Luca, beckoning the boy over with Bess, who were both eyeing Myra warily. He took a knee before the children, meeting their gaze as seriously and earnestly as if they were grown. And Eri spoke as much to the brave, humble grey-eyed boy who didn't understand the depths of his own strength, as to the brilliant, uncanny little girl. "We're going back to the caravan - but only for now. We have to gather everyone up, see to Abesoloma - and then we're going to get your mother, and Drust. I swear it. Luca, you and Bess can ride the horse I brought here. Vandilo will take Abe, and I'll ride with Chavi and... "

Eri groaned softly in the back of his throat, though he cut it off quickly. Floure. Where in all the seven hells was Floure?

The young man gathered himself quickly, not giving either one of the children something new to worry on. "And we'll meet up there. Go on now." Edimér stood to his feet, glancing over the vast space of the grounds before turning swiftly, and taking Luca by the shoulder for just a moment longer. "You've done well Luca," he said in a soft whisper, "You should be proud." A gentle smile made those dark eyes shine. "I know I am."

And with that, he let the boy go, turning on his booted feet, whistling for Jasper. Beryl and Pearl flanked Chavi, her eternal bully sentries, and Eri was glad to keep them there beside his beloved Fae. The red wolfhound loped to Edimér's side, his great head turned upward toward Master. He only had one word to whisper in the dog's ear, one command.

"Floure."
Good morning all, and great post Heroes. I'll try to have something up later this afternoon/evening, though certainly do not wait on me Dreaming if you're ready!
Oh thank you Hellis! It was late, and all I had left in me to get out so probably riddled with mistakes, but I really wanted to give at least a little something to the scene there. I suppose normally Henry would be her go-to, but he's in no place himself to share any peace of mind; and Siya is so obviously in the middle of something there too, so yes, like a magnet to the man she seriously misjudged from the very beginning.
Long fingers wrapped tightly about the plain crystal rosary, pale blue and silver glints danced off the pale skin of her hand. Veti would never know how or why Cornelius knew this was just the needful thing for her, but he did. And when she laid Thad beneath that glass, Cornelius had a rosary of rosewood and gold, and Veti had wrapped it about his cooling fingers, and wept , and prayed, amazing even herself how easily the words came back to her with every pass of the beads.

She'd no idea if he were Catholic or Pagan, Protestant or Buddhist or atheist or even a bit of the agnostic about the whole Divine Plan 'thing.' But the anima's thoughtfulness had given her with something at least, just a little something good and decent to leave with him, a small, mostly unknown and sacred piece of Veti's soul. Thad would know, though. He always had. And he would come back to her, somehow, some way. He would.

Veti had to believe that. She did. Or she'd fall to pieces right here, right now on these ancient floors. Lots of little tiny pieces, like shattered glass that would never be put together again. And so the werewolf let herself back into the grand room as quietly as when she'd left - and eternally grateful someone had thought to keep the hinges of these massive wooden doors well-oiled. She'd obviously returned at the very moment of that proverbial pregnant pause, that instant of collectively held breath while the whole world waited for... Something?

Something she obviously didn't have the least clue about, and so Veti silently crossed the room toward the group. Apparently a far more dapper-looking Mr. Bain had joined them as well, and suddenly the mystery of a very pissed off-looking Siya, her expression dark an ominous as a storm cloud even in all her uncharacteristically colorful finery, was suddenly solved. And this one time, Veti sensed it was fine, really and truly fine, for her to stay in Siya's shadow this day.

With precious little thought on the matter, Veti moved instinctively toward Nestor, toward the one man in the room her lover seemed to have truly befriended, however unlikely the pairing might seem on its face. Even the demoness, the one whose name she never caught, was... She was wearing Max's boots. The old motorcycle boots all beaten to hell on that island with the fox-thing. Veti still didn't know what it was, since she and Max - Thad - Had been far too absorbed in their own cascade of sweet moments to linger over talk of dead monsters.

Veti settled cross-legged on the floor beside Nestor's chair, her head resting slowly against the arm, the only sound an exhausted sigh escaping her throat. Absently, her fingers ran over the crystal beads of the rosary, one by one, her lips moving even as her distant gaze almost dutifully turned to her employers.
Oh wow, so sorry to hear that Heroes, and here's to hoping your night treats you better this evening, than the last couple days have!
Ooooooooooh! Very nice Lillian! So I do believe Dreaming was up to post next, and perhaps Heroes when he gets a chance?

Aff, I probably missed it, but were you going to try to post for Taxian?
Well tried to do this a couple hours ago, but this place was not playing nice - no matter, good morning to all. Too late for breakfast, but we can just roll with brunch, and have some coffee cake and fresh coffee or tea at the least!
