Myth Academy (PG-13)

My CS

Name: Gideon Joseph Woollven
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Species: Male Naiad (no naiads were male, but their male equivalents were minor river gods. I didn't think anyone would like that.)

Appearance: Like a normal teenage human, but with slightly pointed ears and a faint blue-green tinge to the skin. Has short brown hair that is always damp, with no particular style. He is fairly muscular, but not overly so, and his eyes are startlingly blue. He prefers to wear blue and green clothing, and is usually seen wearing a sea-blue cap. When phasing into water (if that is allowed) he has no appearance, as he becomes one with the water molecules.



Just make this guy smaller and younger, and it's Gideon when in liquid form :D

Personality: Gideon is generally a quiet, solemn boy, but socialises normally with his friends, enjoying spending time with them. He listens carefully in class, but prefers to store the knowledge in his head rather than take notes, and rarely contributes out of shyness. Out of class, he is laid-back and takes his time with things, and. like the water he was born from, sometimes takes the easiest, swiftest route, even if it isn't the best option. When faced with a difficult or awkward situation (such as attempting to avoid a towel snapping in the changing room), or if his mind wanders, he sometimes phases accidentally into water sources (such as water bottles).

Gideon is British, with a Kentish British accent. He used to inhabit the River Stour in Kent (Garden of England, Google it), before travelling to the USA to attend the academy.

Club/Sport: Swimming Team (well, duh, he is a water spirit)

NOTE: I hope phasing into water is allowed, water spirits do do that, and I guess it's about as powerful as a werewolf shape-shifting.

Okay, I'll just inhabit a fountain or something. Maybe I could just have the ability to phase in and out of any water source (nothing OP, like inhabiting water vapour in the atmosphere, just sources of the same volume as my body or more). And is this based in medieval/fantasy times, or a secret sanctuary for modern-day mythical creatures? I re-read the description, but I still can't work it out D: Am I stupid? 0_o

I really want this to happen. It would be cool to be a hamanaiad (half naiad) and control water or something. I'm guessing we'll all have special powers anyway?

Appearance:

Human - Average height, long silver/grey hair and beard. A body that was clearly once strong in his youth, but is in slow decline as he ages. His face and eyes betray his great wisdom - and also great weariness as the war stretches onwards. Wears silver and brown robes, carries a staff (not magical - or is it? Hint, hint).



Gryphon - Half European Lynx, half falcon. Lynx has silver/grey fur and blue eyes (like a Siamese cat), with black spots and tips of the ears. The tail has a 'stem' like a lynx's, but has a fan of grey feathers, speckled with black spots, spreading outwards at the end. Wings are falcon's, but far larger than a normal bird's. Silver feathers with black streaks and spots.



Name: Alata Barbatus
Race: Gryphos
Gender: Male
Age:9 61

Rank/Affiliation: Advisor (British spelling, don't judge) in the Parliament (or Council, whatever) of the Gryphos.

Personality: Old, wise, Gandalf-like figure (without the magic). Kind and gentle, but with a hidden fighting streak. Skilled healer.

Weaknesses: He has a fear of fire, because it is the primary weapon of the Dracans in dragon form. He is poor at swordplay and spearmanship (melee combat in general, except for staffmanship)
Strengths: He has great skill in healing, and usually carries around several potions or tinctures wherever he goes. He is a skilled archer, and uses his staff as a club in battle (similar to how Radagast uses his in The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug).

Brief bio: Born in a village near the capital city, he quickly rose into the Royal Court because of his healing skills and great wisdom. He is often found studying either alone or with the visiting Alacai - he is fascinated by this race, untouched by the war. Besides acting as an advisor and physician, he frequently returns to his village in search of rest and peace - and to defend it from Dracan raids. In Gryphon form, he enjoys flying between the towers of the city, but often is seen fishing in rivers and streams, or curled up in his armchair in his house - where he lives alone except for his young nephew and a housekeeper. He also occasionally acts as a spy in the Dracan's territory, using his swift secondary form to stay hidden.

UPDATE:I have decided to reveal a huge secret about him later on in the RP, in a life or death situation. Wait and see what it is

Hey! Welcome to the Guild. Everything you say in this thread is OOC so there's no need to specify OOC. I'm not accepting characters yet as I'm still waiting to get some more interest so you can hold that thought. When I post the OOC thread it will have character guidelines for you to follow, a Character Sheet (CS) that includes your character's name, race, age, biography etc. As far as classes for magic, I didn't originally have any in place. Although Dracans and Gryphos are not inherently magical, I suppose it would be possible to have a Dracan spell caster or Gryphos wizard… Just keep in mind that magic is generally shunned by the Dracans and viewed as something more along the lines of beyond comprehension by the Gryphos, the Alacai are the only truly magical race, but they do not study, they simply are, so it's up to you what kind of specifications about magic that your character has.

OOC: Hi, I'm fairly new to this. I don't really get the system yet, so I hope I've put this comment in the right place!

Interested. I enjoy fantasy roleplays, especially if they involve non-OP-but-still-cool-magic like shapeshifting. Should I post my character(s)'s descriptions here? And are any of the classes we can be associated specifically with magic (warlock, shaman, etc.)?

Hi, I'm British! I know, cool right!

My timezone is GMT, so I won't be on when all you North Americans are (if the majority of you are American or Canadian, I don't know yet.).

I am a fan of LOTR, Narnia, The Shapeshifter Series (Ali Sparkes) and several other things, so some of my role-plays may be based on these.
