"A door. eh?" James examined it. "I don't have any rope, but I've got these." he lit his lantern, then drew his warhammer.

"This should only take a minute." the knight said, and drove the spike of his hammer into the crack between the door and the wall. He tested the hinge's strength, and gave a great yank.
"Upper body strength?" James questioned Rue. "Sure, just lead the way. What's the problem?"
"You're right." James agreed, pulling his hand away. He walked up to the tavern, and kicked the door in.

"Gabriel, it's time for us to hit the road!" he announced, walking towards the halfling. "That chef will slit our throats while we sleep if we stay here overnight."
"Sorry to throw caution to the win-NUOHGOD" Akira shouted, catching the flying creature. He wrestled, spinning about before tossing it away from him, but not without a few new cuts.

"You guys gotta give me some elbow room, you know!" he said, jumping into the air and doing a flying elbow drop onto Booger. "You can't just crowd a guest!"
"Guess it's just you..." Akira said, twirling around the staff. It was weighted a little oddly, but he'd be able to use it similar to a sword, and the corroded end seemed pointed enough to thrust with.

He posed with the weapon straight above his head. "Don't be a stick in the mud; come on!"
"A slime blast? Just like in my sentai shows!" Akira exclaimed, placing the trident over his shoulder.

He grabbed the weapon with both hands, and swung it in a mighty arc. "BATTER UP!"
"You think we're supposed to fight fair?" James asked, taking his foot off the unconscious bartender. "A regulated duel like you just saw, and a fight for your life are two completely different things. On the battlefield, the only things that matter are survival and victory. And for a rookie, just the former will do. Cheap shots, kicking sand, or even attacking the wounded are all considered fair play when it's your life or his. Frankly, it's pretty lucky none of us have died yet."

He put a hand on Lily's shoulder, and tried to sound more comforting. "Stay back and be a healer, if that's what you'd rather do. Just someone to mend our injuries is a great boon. But if you really want to fight monsters and heathens next to us, you have to get your hands bloody."
"I don't know why you keep up attacking me!" Akira shouted, doing an action roll and yanking his trident back. "It's like going in CIRCLES!"

The cyber samurai gave a shit-eating grin as he spun the polearm around him in wild spirals.

OK, I just read all of the CS's and I am finding 1 very common issue. Many characters seem to be gifted with magic, or already been trained as a knight. I probably should of mentioned it, but I wasn't planning for that, I was looking for something like this: You just joined a school, and you have just gained the ability to use magic, but you are still clueless, or you now have the strength to fight with a weapon, but you can wield a sword about as well as a horse. This was where the progression was to come in. It isn't all about drama or just fighting. It doesn't matter who is the best with a sword, or who can already cast spells like a badass. This RP is supposed to be a bunch of pairs of people thrown into something they may or may not be able to handle. So those of you who dont have a partner, pair up, and design your characters in unison, create a history for them, give them the ability to blossom into something badass, not already be it. (Oh, Drake, your the biggest offender by far.)I would prefer if you have already made a character, but not found a partner for them, to find someone, and then you both can format your characters to make a bond for the two that will work for the RP, allowing room for them to grow (or shrink) in whatever way that you desire.

IRL the age most men were knighted was like, 16 or 17. Training begins from when they were like 8, if I'm remembering right. On top of that, there's no reason why an aspiring knight as old as twenty-five shouldn't have some form of combat training or experience. At the age of 25. Even our modern military can have an 18 year old battle-ready in just a few months.
With a roar, Akira brought the trident up, and tossed it like a javelin towards Booger.
"I don't really see the POINT in sending animals after me, but maybe you do!" he shouted.

"Fortunately, I can be pretty HANDY in a battle!" he said, bringing his metal arm back up in a backhand aimed towards Tony.
