"Oh, Valentin!" Isolde turned and smiled.
"Raiders? That's odd; I only heard of my dear brothers' messengers. Thank you for telling me; I knew I could count on my favorite adviser!" she cheered, tilting her head.
"If that's the case, Gnarl, I'd like you to do your duty as my mercenary. I trust there are already men riding forward to discipline these bandits?" she asked.
Pilot/Custodian Staff Member
Name: Johnny Tsunami

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Appearance: Johnny rocks a sick pompadour and radical sideburns. His eyes are eternally covered by a pair of opaque sunglasses, and he sports a sweet red jacket with a winged sword on the back. Under this, he wears a black tee shirt and blue jeans, and his feet are covered by sneakers. He wears a lucky charm on his neck: a jade coin with Chinese writing on it.

Personality: A brash, irrational man, Johnny Tsunami rockets towards his goal, fist in hand. He cares little for odds, statistics, or consequences for that matter. His blood is too hot, his fist too clenched, his pomp too styling to care. His greatest joy in life is piloting giant robots for the sheer joy of piloting giant robots. He fails to understand why anyone wouldn't have this as their dream job.
His hobbies are dancing, board games, and eating out.

Brief Backstory: Johnny was born into the mean streets of Neo-Tokyo, running wild with a gang of equally stylish delinquents. Those were his early days, riding through the streets and fighting rival themed gangs of delinquents from other schools. Through it all, though, Johnny wanted more, in his search for something cooler than what he already had. After graduating high school, he enlisted into Japan's armed mecha division, and was almost immediately discharged for disorderly conduct. After this, he fell in with a group of mech mercenaries, traveling the world and building up his own custom piece of machinery. Five years later he was a freelancer, combing the land like his hair in search of adventure when he was contacted by the Custodians, and brought in as a professional pilot.

Skills: Johnny's an ace pilot with the perfect feel for his machine. On top of this, he's a decent street brawler and a second to none dancer. He's terrible at board games, though. Just, awful at them.

Abilities: None. He's just a good pilot.

Mecha
Name: Burst Noble

Type: Super Robot

Appearance: The mech appears as a slick, humanoid robot, colored bright red. The limbs and body look sleek, like a martial artist, if martial artists were gigantic robots. The head has a golden, circular crest of gold, and is designed to look as if it's wearing a face plate.

Specifications: Burst Noble was designed as a melee specialized unit, boasting an array of edged weapons, dexterity, and high ground mobility.

Equipment System: Burst Noble's primary armament at first appears to be a set of bladed wings. The "feathers" actually comprise an armory consisting of over a dozen swords of varying sizes, from relatively gladius length to almost as long as the mech itself. The longest feathers, located on the end, are a pair of long blaster rifles, so as not to sacrifice long range battle completely. The weapons are assisted into Burst Noble's hands by a set of small dendrites, and the wings themselves are articulated, and can be used in a slashing motion. The swords can also be launched out at high speeds in an emergency attack.
For flight assistance, Burst Noble has a pair of thrusters located on the back, just under where the wings attach to the body, though it lacks fine mobility in air, so much as it just rockets forward as fast as it can go. On the ground, Burst Noble is much more mobile, using surprising agility, assisted by bursts from the rockets to weave around quickly.
How do you liquify gunpowder?
"Ride out if you must." Isolde smiled at Guindand.
"But remember, this is a very important mission, so I'm counting on you! Do your best, okay?" she opened her eyes.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to get this manse in order. Everything must look right. Nothing they wouldn't agree with." she walked back into her room, and began shuffling around the papers, sorting them into several different piles.
Yes. Hunt well.

See. This is we fight solely on ground. Horses drive wedges between us. And tribe no need be divided.Plus think of the money Chieftain will save.

It's true; now that they're dead I can replace some of the meat you gluttons went through. Some.

*Raises hand* That mean hit things right?

Not necessarily.

I was under the assumption that the king knew. A rather well known group of mercenaries moving through the country tends to attract attention. That aside, the currently portrayed king is rather unwilling to really move against his sister, the man has a conscience and that aside, he has his reputation to consider. He is on shaky ground, if he orders the army into action against the recently deposed previous sovereign he is making a gamble with freshly attained loyalties. Not only that, but neighbouring countries will watch the destabilized kingdom with the eyes of a hawk. Right now, unless the queen makes far too large ripples, the king is busy otherwise. All of this is assumed however and will require Partisan to clarify.

Yeah, but openly assembling an army counts as "large ripples". It's best we dissuade them immediately.
No I mean it seems like nobody gets the plan.

I call it Plan: Diplomacy.

There is absolutely no way we can survive a direct confrontation with the Royal Army at full force as we are. If we treat the spies with hostility, King has permission to wreck our shit. If he learns I've hired mercenaries, he has permission to wreck our shit. If the spies don't come back, he has permission to wreck our shit.
The only way to keep the spies from going "Hey Isolde is plotting something" is by treating them as allies. We invite them in, put on our best clothes, and behave well while I explain that these are not in fact mercenaries, but a few extra bodyguards to fend off the local bandits, as they've gotten rather rowdy as of late.
....You guys do realize she's not dumb enough to seriously think they're up to any good, right?
